WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE - team 2
Hey team 2! I'm ready to rock, how about you? I hope it's okay that I start a thread for us. I thought it would be good for us to introduce ourselves, and help each other to reach our goals. I'm in it to win it - how about you? I see it as win/win - and I joined because I think it will help me maintain motivation.
I'm Diana - I live in northern Illinois, near the Wisconsin border. I'm 57. I don't work outside the home. I'm a fulltime caregiver for my mother who has Alzheimerz. I've been doing this for a bit over 2 years and have really put on the pounds in the process. Mom is pretty frail - she has never exercized a day in her life. I used to take her out for walks on nice days. It was always a short walk and very very s l o w. About 5 weeks ago I bought her a wheel chair, so now I'm able to actually get exercize, too, in the process of our walk.
I've lost a little over 11 pounds since starting here (40 to go) - it will be a month on Wednesday. I love this site and have learned a TON!!! I'm "kind of" having fun on this diet, because I have the time to cook healthy foods - we're eating about 6 times a day.
Maybe everyone can give a tasty, good for you, cheat food. Mine for now is blueberries with whip cream. It feels like desert to me - I like it better than a sweetroll. The most I eat at one time is a cup of berries and 3 tbs. whip cream which is 115 calories (high in antioxidents and fiber) - usually I have less than half of that, though.

Hi Diana! I'm Nikki (just in case you couldn't tell by my screen name (lol)), but most of my family and friends call me Nick (but don't be fooled, I AM and girl). I was born and raised in El Paso, TX and am currently a senior in college (exciting, i know!). I have always been a little overweight ever since I can remember, and now I feel that it is time for me to shed the weight not to be skinnier, but to be healthier. Although, being thinner would be nice! Anyway, I've been on this site for about a month and was able to lose 3 pounds in my first week. And then... (dun dun dun) I stalled! (OH NO!) I haven't been able to lose any more than those initial three pounds =( ... BUT, I have managed to keep them off! (Hey, I've got to see the bright side of my situation, right?) The good thing though is even though the numbers on the scale haven't been dropping for me, the inches on my waist, hips, butt, etc. have been getting smaller <~ so that's a good thing, right? I'm hoping the lack of change on the scale just means that while I am losing the fat, I'm gaining it back in muscle, lol. <~ Again, looking at the bright side. I've got to stay positive in order for this new journey to be a success! Anyway, I think I've rambled on for long enough. Thanks for taking the initiative and starting up this thread! I will post my stats in the original thread tomorrow...
It was a pleasure meeting you! And YAY for Team 2!

YEAH! I am sooo excited for this challenge!! For the past few weeks I have been slacking... badly. I would have a gew treats here and there and then before I knew it my whole new way of life was falling apart and I was very dissapointed in myself, but I am back on track now and am ready to kick some butt in this challenge.
I, like Nikki, have always been a little chubby. Probably ever since I started Middle school, probably even sooner. I never was a very active child and I now believe that to be the cause of me being over weight. Things are better now, but I still haven't found that one thing that I really like to do that is exercise. So I just stick with my walking until I can find something fun and new!
I started my journey to a healthier me back on January 31st of this year and have since then lost almost 23 lbs. I am very proud of myself because I never thought I could do it. When I was younger I tried everything I could think of to lose the weight, but nothing ever worked until I found CC. This site has been such a help and the people here are so amazing and supportive. I really don't know how I could have done it without the people I have met. I still have 27 lbs (or so) left to lose, but I now have the confidence in myself to make my goals come true!
So a little about me... I'm 19 years old, I live in southern Wisconsin, and I hate it..lol. Ok, hate is a strong work, I just very much dislike living here. I'm not meant for a city like mine... it's hard to explain. I just graduated high school last year and have taken some time off to figure out what I want and what is most important in my life. I still haven't quite figured it out, but I'm getting there.
Well that's it from me. Sorry about my novel...lol
I'm very glad to meet everyone, and Let's kick some booty team 2!!!!

Hi everyone. My name is Joanna and I am 33 years old. I am married with two wonderful girls ages 2 1/2 and 1. I never lost my weight from my first child (and I gained 80 lbs), then became pregnant again. I am just tryting to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight again. I joined weight watchers 17 weeks ago, and have lost 30 lbs so far. Then I stumbled across this site and love it. So I am starting to count calories instead of figuring out points. I figured I might as well save the money, with the cost of daycare always rising. I still need to shed about 34 lbs and I believe challenges like this will keep me real since I will not have the weekly weigh-ins.
Good Luck and let's kick some butt!

Hello! My name is Missy. I am 27, will be 28 next weekend, and have been on cc since June/July of last year. I've lost 20 pounds so far but lately have been slacking and am hoping a challenge like this will help. I have been married since 1999 and have two daughters, Gabby who is 7, and Lily who just turned 1. I, too, gained a lot with my first child and never really lost it! I would like to lose 28 more. We can do this team! Woohooo! :) lol
Hi! My name is Mary Ann. I am 28 years old and I live in Pennsylvania. This challenge is kiicking off my goal of losing weight. I currently weigh 168 lbs. I am only 5'2", so I would like to get down to around 135-140 lbs. I just got married in Sept 06. I do not have any chilren yet. I work full time as a juvenile probation officer
I will try my best to help our team win. Just one problem, I am not sure I understand the net calorie goal for this week. Today I put my net goal was 1400. So I tried to maintain a healthy diet today. So far I have only eaten 1151.00 calories. I read some other write ups and saw that it is not only about what you eat but also what you burn off. what is the formula.
2000 calories consumed
- 600 calories burned
= 1400 net calories
or is it the reverse?
Either way I think I messed this up for the team today. Like I said my calorie intake was 1151. I am not sure how to tell what I burned off. I did not do any extra activities today other then work, but I am sure that burned off something. Tomorrow I am playing tennis.
Should be eating more and then subtracting the calories I burned.
Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You got it right, mf6026. I had it wrong yesterday, too - I wanted to eat 1500 calories, so that's what I put. This is so unbelievable. I wanted to increase what I've been eating, because I felt my scales didn't move much last week - I wanted to shake things up. Well, I was wrong. I actually lost 3 pounds last week! I don't know WHY I thought the scale wasn't moving. I weigh myself and log it daily...good thing. I was happy when I looked over my log from last week.
Anyway, mf6026, you should go to "tools". Fill out the form for "expendature" and also allowance. It will tell you what you should eat.
Also, there is an "activity" log. Tennis should be there. You can input whatever activity you do, and it will tell you how many calories you burned.
You can also fill out your profile that' under "community". If you want to get a weightloss ticker, go to www.tickerfactory.com They have one for weightloss.
I didn't meet my goal, either. I'm so dissappointed in myself. I had a great plan for eating 1500 calories and had a great start by eating a breakfast of steel ground oatmeal, then 2 hours later having an omlet, then an hour later a grapefruit, then 2 hours later chicken and a potato and vege....well, shoot - I was stuffed for the rest of the day!!! I did eat a bag of 100 calorie popcorn about 5:00, but that was it for the day. I LOST a full pound, though!!!!! Maybe it was partly water weight, though - it was hot here yesterday and I took a walk (pushing Mom in a wheel chair) twice...once early in the day, the last one about 6pm...I was sweating both times when we got back.
I'll make my food goal today - I almost always eat 1200, and that' what I'm putting down.

hello! im chase! ive been on CC for about 4 months now and lose a total of 26 lbs, 22 lbs on the last challenge i was in. but ive gained about 6 lbs since its been about a month without a challenge. thats mostly my fault because i bought my weight loss goal reward about 10 lbs too early because it was such a good deal i couldnt pass up... so ive got it mostly out of my system and im back in to lose these last 10 lbs! my goal weight is 145 and im starting at 155!
BUMP!
So... where's the rest of our team? =S
So... where's the rest of our team? =S
Hi, I'm starffy.
I'm 26, 5'7" at 177 (today). My goal is to get down to 8% body fat or somewhere around 150lbs. I've been here for about two months now, and I'm down about 15lbs.
I have these hershey chocolate sticks that are 60 calories and some hundred calorie packs, and I use these to get myself within 100 calories of my goal most days. Every now and then, I will eat more when I feel really hungry, since I probably underestimated my calorie expenditure.
I also take one free day a week, where I'll aim for maintainance or maintainance+500 usually, but sometimes I just won't count.

k team 2. im a little bit confused about where to post and what im supposed to do this week... i got a little message that i posted in the wrong team forum, (lol) from undertherainbow and ive been looking and looking and i cant figure out where to post except in here... our team 2 motivation thread, and in the weight loss week 1 challenge. if im missing something let me know cuz i dont wanna miss anything =)
The place to post your stats is in the weight loss forrum. You'll see a thread there entitled "weight loss challenge". This week we are supposed to post how many net calories we plan to eat...we have to do this everyday. The following day we post how many we actually ate. Everyone who is within 100 calories of the goal earns .5 points for our team.
WE'RE IN LAST PLACE!!! It's early in the game, so we can turn this arround. I'm sorry I didn't make my goal on Monday. I did Tuesday, though - and will today, too.

SO... I was able to stay within my cal goal for yesterday... AND, I'm back down to 164 <~ which totally tells me that it was just water weight! *yipee* NOW, let's see if I can drop down to at least 163 (if not lower!) by next Monday/Tuesday!
YAY FOR TEAM 2!
Oh yeah, a big congrats (and thanks!) to those that have been earning us points on Monday and Tuesday! And to those who haven't - it's ok! Today is a new day!

nikki_08... you just bumped your team to 2.5 points so far today :)
Yahoo! Maybe we won't be in last place after today! Good job team!
Congrats on your weight loss, Nikki! I weighed a bit more today. I think I dropped so much yesterday because I stopped eating so early on Monday. Last night I had to have a bag of popcorn about 7:30, to make sure I had enough calories.
