Weight loss each week?

How much do you typically lose each week?  And is this achieved by basically just making sure you have a calorie deficit each day?

I tipically lose 1kilo per week and yes, only by counting calories and ensuring they are not over 1350 on average. Also one kilo is an average, of course. Last week I lost 1.5 and I have weeks when I lose two, but generally one of those comes back for a little while:). So... yes, one kilo per week, with calories deficit. Another thing I have seen is that not only the average number of calories has to be around 1300-1350, but I have to be constant and not to eat 1000 today and 1500 tomorrow. I do not lose weight like this.

I typically lose about 1-1.5 lbs a week. However, I do it by eating 1700-1900 cals a day and exercising everyday. For me since I love to eat, it much easier to stick to. There is no way I could stick to this *diet* if I could only lose weight eating 1200-1500 cals a day!

Unfortunately over the 13 weeks on this site there was one week I didn't lose anything............but averaging out the 13 weeks I have lost 1 1/2 lbs per week which I would love to see continue until the next twenty pounds are history!

I have found that using a combination of calorie deficit ( around 1200 cals) along with high protein along and daily exercse has worked very well for me. I started on my lifestyle change on Aug 12 and as of today I have lost 40 lbs.  I aim for 70 grams of protein a day which leaves room for fruits, veggies and a little bit of bread/grains daily and even the occasional treat.  I have found that the focus on protein has given me a weight loss I have never experienced before.  It helps me stay full longer.  I have also found that protein bars with around 200 calories and 15 grams of protein take care of my chocolate cravings and help keep me on track.  I especially like Balance Bars in their cookie dough and other chocolate flavors keeps the cravings at bay.  I am walking for 30 to 60 minutes a day, every day (having a large dog helps!!) and have just started adding some strength training 2 times a week.  11 more pounds to go, I hope it keeps coming off like it has!

I am impressed!  I started about two weeks later and have lost only 18 pounds.

Congratulations!
