Hi everyone.. I would like to know. How much weight have you lost so far this year???? And! Do you have more weight to lose?

Started my diet in 2007, and I lost 48 pounds..
Started CC again in 2008, and I lost 31 pounds.
Changed my goal weight 3 times since joining CC, and now I have.. 16 more to go..

If I would have stayed with the first goal weight.. I would be 1 pound away from my goal, and I've seen my goal weight twice this month.. Looking forward to losing the rest of my weight, and staying on CC to motivate and maintain.

2009 plans are to polish-up and get to the maintaining part.

i just did my weekly weigh in and it seems i have lost 20lbs this year (started losing in feb). I am now at my goal weight (like you, my goals have changed a lot during the course of the year!) and am trying to maintain. i'm going away over christmas so in the new year i guess i might have to work off a few extra pounds but after that i want to maintain my weight and wean myself off the calorie counting.

On March 31, 2008 I was home sick and suddenly struck with a need to change some things. My plan was to lower sodium and added sugar, increase exercise and lose about 15lbs.

I accomplished that all by July 2008. Since then I have lost another 10lbs (slowly) so actually lost a total of 25+ pounds since I started. I've also lowered my average sodium intake to below 2400mg daily and added sugar stays below 20g...though it gets a bit high from fruit sometimes. I like to eat, so I also made sure to keep my metabolism running high so I could eat 1800-2000+ for maintenance. I would like to lose another 5lbs of fat and replace it with muscle (ideal goal).

I started off running intervals and would run/jog/walk for about 1.5 miles in 20 minutes. Now I can run almost 3 miles straight in 25 minutes. I've recently added some toning exercises to my workout and am seeing some good results.

There have also been some bonus changes that I hadn't anticipated, like better energy, skin, hair and my breasts are a normal size so the tension in my back and shoulders is less/gone. I also haven't been sick this winter.

It's hard for me to imagine how I would have been if I hadn't made these changes. I'd probably be looking at my legs thinking "I hate my fat legs". Instead, I'm looking at my legs thinking "wow, I had a pretty great pair of legs hidden under all that fat". I'm still fine tuning some things, but enjoy it so much that I can't imagine ever letting it all unravel. Making these few simple changes has improved so many things!

Stick with it everyone! It is so worth it.

As of yesterday morning I've lost 100 pounds since the end of February!  But I still have ~80 to go, and my next goal is to still have at least 100 pounds lost when I come back from a two week vacation to London on the 4th....

congrats to you, tetra! what an accomplishment!

i have lost 19.5 lbs since mid-september. i still have 41.5 lbs to get to my ultimate goal. i'd like to reach my first goal (21 more lbs) by june, because i have my 10 year high school reunion.

From January 'til now, I've lost 22lbs. :D

Tetra, Lynn, skookum, and veggiedoodle congrats on the weight loss!

I started actively trying to lose weight at the end of June at 175lbs and have so far lost 28lbs.. I am so amazed by this number because I know how hard I worked to get them off me!

I still have another 10 - 15 lbs to go before I reach my ideal weight BUT I'm also very aware that a number on the scale isn't directly related to how my body looks. I want a LEAN, fit, healthy body so I'll keep working on that and see where it takes me weight-wise.

Again congratulations and best of luck to everyone!

I started losing weight on Jan 7 2008 and started CC on Feb 20 2008. This year I have lost 60 lbs and have another 20-30 lbs left to lose. I havent settled on an exact number, I just want to see how my body looks and feels.

I started my weight loss on 1/1/08 and to date have lost 78 pounds (SW 238).  My original goal was to get to 165, I'm now at 160 and going to 150 (at least).  I'd prefer to go to 140 but my husband made me promise to stop at 150 for at least three months (I think he thinks I am going to waste away to nothing!).  So, after three months of maintainence and trying to get buff, I might try to drop another 10.

As of this morning's weigh in, I have lost 38 pounds since mid-July. I'm almost halfway to my goal.

I am so happy you posted this topic Lynn!  I have lost 53 pounds since March 2008.  I only have 17 pounds to lose to make it to my goal weight.

This whole process has taught me that losing weight isn't a pipedream.  I no longer say, I wish I was 20 pounds lighter.  Now I say, I only have 17 pounds to lose.  I know I can do it.  It isn't impossible.

I hope everyone else has gained a sense of empowerment when it comes to dieting/exercise.  Enjoy!

I've lost 20lbs since July.

WOW! I never sleep good at night, and I came up with this thread just to motivate people who say. I can't do this.. SO I wanted everyone to see that... Weight loss with damn gooooood numbers can happen. It's possible, and nothing is never to impossible to reach.

When I started to lose weight once again in 2007, after falling off the wagon in 2005-2006.. I knew.. I had to get off my butt and look at the real facts here.. It can be done, and NEVER SAY NEVER or I CAN'T.

fallingstar-20 pounds!
tciherr-53 with 17 to go.
dreadfulpenny-38 almost half way there.
alle0299-78 still making plans to push for more.

Look at what a commitment can do. It can do wonderful things for your life, and I'm so happy you all posted on this Thread. I hope more come forward before 08 ends.. Keep up the good work everyone.. Really... Keep it up.. I have some more to lose myself, and I'm going for the GOLD.

Wow, I suck...I have gained 10lbs in 2008.  First I gained 22, then I lost 12.

However, somewhere in this year I also:  Graduated from university, got married, started my first job, ran a half marathon and moved to a new city.  So I'm not going to be too hard on myself.

So I will start counting since August and say that I have lost 12lbs, go me!

I've lost 31lbs since May!

Best of all I haven't worked out yet! I hate working, sadly when the new year roles around, or once I finish my finals I will start working out :(  ...oh well, I am looking forward to the results.

CONGRATS EVERYONE!!!

I Started in May:  25 down (in 31 weeks), 50 to go (in however many weeks that takes)!  Slow and steady, and it works for me!  Everyone keep the faith!

I have lost ~28 pounds this year!! It's the first time I've committed to losing weight in a long time, and I am happy with the results. I think I could have done better over summer, where I did not lose anything, but that's what next year is for. 2009 will bring more weight loss!!! :D

I agree, this is such a great post!

I started at the end of January '08.  Weighed last week and have lost a total of 21lbs.  Was great & using CC diligently for the first few months, then fell off the wagon, got back on, moved to another country, and lost more even though I wasn't counting calories.

Was so surprised to have lost it, don't think I ever thought I could do it.  Now ppl are saying how great I look & I can actually FEEL my clothes getting bigger!  This is the lightest I've been since high school 8 years ago!

Started ~200, now 179.  Goal was/is to lose 26, so 5 more left.  Def. will have more to lose, but not thought about what I want the next weight goal to be.  But as for lifestyle: get better track of healthy eating (STOP binge eating!), join gym or at least get yoga videos, as am walking a lot more, but no weight training!  :(

Congrats to all that have lost & keep it up.  I've gone up & down, but in the end it's sooo worth it!

I started May 2008, I've lost 65 lb and still 40 lb to go.

Congrats everyone, it's indeed possible to do this, one day at a time, we get there!

27 pounds since the end of June.  12 more pounds until my preliminary goal weight of 140.
