Doees anyone have 100 pounds to lose? Either remaining or from your starting point? I started my diet in earnest about 3 weeks ago and could really use some encouragement and understanding from others who are able to understand what I'm going through! I look forward to not only receiveing but giving advice and encouragement!!
hmmm...my goal was to lose 95 lbs which is close enough to 100...and so far i have lost 6 lbs in 3 weeks...89 lbs to go! :D
Oh WOW!! Congratulations!! It sure is beginning to be fun to get on the scale and get a little bit of good news isn't it?
I started with at least 105 lbs to lose in January. As of today I am down 48 lbs. What are your weight loss goals? I'm happy to chat any time, I'll take all the encouragement I can get! :o)
Hi! I have 100 lbs+ to lose. I started at 266, and right now I am hovering around 244. My first goal is to get down to 149 which would be a healthy BMI for me. And then after that, I would like to set my own personal goal and that number is still up in the air.
It can be done!! I weighed 265(size22) at my highest and now weigh around 170lbs(size12). Took me about a year and half but remember-slow and steady does it. I'd like to get to 150 but I'm OK at this weight for now and it's very easy to maintain it. So keep it up! You can do it!
I started with 180 to lose. I now have 100.5 to lose, so nearing the halfway point. You can do it!
I started in October 2006 with 111 lbs to loose. As of last week, 50 down, 61 to go.
It feels sooo good to say I've lost 50 lbs - that is twice as much as I am suppose to lift.

Yes, I'm with ya! As of today I am 305, my goal is 165. I'm 5'9" and "big-boned". I've been at it for about 3 months and I have lost 25 lbs so far. I've been kind of plateau'd for the last 2 weeks or so. I'm hoping one of these days I'll hop on the scale and it will be 2 or 3 pounds lower! Motivateme320, you motivate me! You rock!
113 lbs planned to lose, lost so far 80 lbs, 33 more lbs to go ;) Started from 269 lbs, now i have 189 lbs, and hoping to get at almost 156 lbs, wich will be quite good for my height, 6`2".
Now i`m in a very restrictive diet of only 350 kcal/day ... Once a week, i`l recharge my batteries with one day with almost 800 kcal.

Hey there!
I started a year ago at 250 with 100 lbs to lose. I've lost 75 of them already. 15 more to a healthy BMI, and 25 more to goal.
If you head over to the Motivation forum, there are several threads for the 100+ lbs to lose club, where we can celebrate the little victories, and discuss all manner of things becasue though weight loss is weight loss, there are different challenges facing people who have a lot of weight to lose.
Good luck, congrats, and keep going. If I did it, you can too!

Started at 287 and I want to get down to 150 (and then maybe 135ish if I still can). Right now I am at 238, so almost 50 pounds down. :)
Got a long way to go, but I'm ready for it.

Hello! Yes, I currently weigh 274 and want to lose 104 pounds. My goal weight is 170. I would love to talk with others who have lost a significant amount of weight or those who are up for the challenge of doing this together!
This is the heaviest I've ever been and I have to admit that I am MISERABLE -- in all aspects of my life. I'm 37 years old and traumatic events and stress led me to gain more than 50 lbs in the past two years!!
I'm an emotional eater and my weight has fluctuated most of my adult life. However, in the past 10 years, I've consistently gained weight.
Ultimately, I'd like to compete in a triathlon as I was always athletic and loved team sports during my teens and 20s.
The most weight I've ever lost was in my mid-20s when I lost 60lbs. I'm planning to lose the weight this time naturally by maintaing a low-fat, low-calorie diet consisting mostly of protein, whole grains and lots of fruits, veggies and WATER!! Plus, regular exercise.
Tell me what you're doing to get the weight off and resist temptation. If you've lost weight, how did you do it? How has weight loss improved or changed your life?
I'm ready and hope we can keep this forum going with some positive, support and encouragement for those of us who are facing 100lb. + weight loss!!

From my starting point I had pretty much exactly 100 to lose. I was 214 in November 2006. I should be, based on the past no more than 114. Maybe 108, but it has been a long time so I'm not completely sure what everything would look like at my age now. I'm 5'1, btw & 33. I'm right around 186.5 now.
I had 154 to lose when I started.
I lost 125 so far, and have 29 more pounds to go to hit my goal of 140 pounds.
If ya need me I'm here. You should check out my before and afters in my profile.
It's taken me a year to lose.
It's so not impossible :)

I started early August at 290.
My goal was 165. But one morning i woke up and I weighed 163, so my goal now is to just round it off to 160. =)

As I've mentioned, I'm just getting started. So far, I've lost 4 lbs. then gained back 3lbs. last week on vacation.
I'm back on the my plan again. But anyone have any tips for just starting out? How do you stay on track when tempted and/or faced with the reality of such an enormous weight loss?

I started with about 80 to lose (to get my BMI under 25), and have 60 left. (It's not 100 but it feels like it!) When I was young and fit I did indeed weigh 100 less than my starting weight.
Small goals, small goals. motivateme320 has the right idea - check out her profile - sequential goals of 10% of body weight. I chose goals that had personal significance or historical memories attached, as well as actual BMI goals: example: goal 2, 196 lbs, no longer "obese" by BMI standards. I was also really happy when my BMI dropped under 35 and I was considered class 1 and not class 2 obese. (The same could be adapted for going below BMI 40, etc... "I'm no longer morbidly obese!)
Mochagurl, the following is the best advice I can think of. Use self-love as a motivator, not self-hate. When you feel like eating tons of unhealthy food, think about your health and well-being and happiness, and how these eating habits have led to the opposite of all three. Find another way to comfort yourself and/or relieve boredom (those are my 2 triggers anyway), think of other things you really love doing and do them instead. (Ignore all the things you "should" be doing, and your to-do list, and just do something you love for a little while!) Don't give yourself negative messages (I'm fat, I'm ugly, I have no self-control etc), EVER. Stay positive and love your body and yourself at all times. View the changes not as deprivation but as evolution - to a healthier, more energetic, more balanced self. And view the changes as PERMANENT. After all, once on maintenance we can eat more, but we'll still have to count and control (or at least I will - my natural regulation system is out of whack, as evidenced by my starting BMI of 36!). When your eating does not go as planned, don't beat yourself up, just return to your plan and chalk it up to experience. Consider it "a delay" in reaching your goals, not "a failure" or "falling off the wagon" etc. Better yet, on days when you want to eat more than you planned, do so in a controlled manner - eat to maintenance calories (i.e. maintenance of your current weight), but no more. Don't do this too often of course, but this way you can "let off some steam" without gaining fat. (You may gain pounds, but it won't be fat - it'll be water retention or the like, and will disappear within a few days).
