What are your weight loss goal rewards?

Quote  |  Reply

I am trying to set a list of rewards for meeting specific goals like every 5 pounds or 10 pounds lost I reward myself but I am having a hard time coming up with things. What are everyone else's?

The weight lose in its self is a reward as well as people noticing and complementing! but I guess the biggest reward is being able to shop threw my closet for my Harley shirts from all over the world that dont fit anymore! itll be awesome to get back into them. to all of you who are on the way to there goals keep up the good work and enjoy your treats!

*sigh* a Harley shirt to go with a Harley.  Ahhh the sounds of summer.

Wow. It sounds like a lot of you have hit a lot of goals and have some great ideas. Congratulations to all of you!! And thanks for all of the ideas! I think my faves are rewards for meeting exercise goals ( I had not thought of that before ) and the new iTunes song to add to the workout list. Clothes haven't been much of a reward for me because they are a necessity, especially when your workout pants fall down around your ankles! But, I have to say that the idea of buying and wearing (and not falling in) a pair of stiletto heels seems pretty exciting to me even if it were just around the house - hmmm wonder what hubby would do!?!Kiss Thanks again for all of the great ideas!

You are all such amazing women!! I am in awe of the hard work you are all doing to create and live a healthy lifestyle that works for you!  WOW - I am so impressed with the creativity of increasing and/or maintaining motivation so you can continue in a positive direction.  When I started Weight Watchers in Feb I had never had a weight problem pre-menopause and always was fit and able to work it off.  Anyway, thanks to all the information out there I have learned so much - and often it is through these forums that I glean little ideas to help me stay on track, and also to help others around me on their journey to health.  Early on, I decided to reward myself with new, feminine nice underwear - not necessarily thongs but really pretty stuff.  I have only gained .6 once after being on a trip for a week, but I gave myself new panties anyway, as I worked out while I was away.  Now I am 10 lbs from goal and trying to just maintain that for a month.  I think its important to stabilize every 10 lbs or so just to relish the successes along the way.  Keep it up!

I haven't put my reward system into action yet, but plan to do so in the next week or two. I love jewelry and am going to purchase myself a sterling silver charm bracelet. For every ten pounds I lose, I am going to put a charm on the bracelet.

The charms are SO CUTE and they have miniatures of almost anything you can think of and they cost between 5-10 dollars. That way when I'm wearing the bracelet, I will be reminded of all the hard work I have done.

A bottle of fine red wine.

Once you set up your goals there are a variety of rewards you can choose from:

  • pedicure
  • manicure
  • full set of nails or fill-in
  • massage
  • day spa
  • coloring hair at salon
  • buy yourself something you've been wanting (book, flowers, new bedding, camera, cell phone, iPod, etc.)
  • clothes
  • shoes (my personal favorite)
  • new handbag or purse
  • buy yourself a visa gift card for the amount you want and save it until you reach your goal to buy yourself something nice
  • go out to dinner (if you can stay in line with your daily calories without going over)
  • get a skinny latte
  • go to a museum, movie, rent a movie, sight-seeing, or bingo, other local events
  • buy new workout gear (clothes, shoes, bag, etc)
  • buy some songs, movies, or sitcoms on iTunes or your favorite store, or go see a live show (comedy, play, opera, concert, etc)
  • go out dancing with a group of friends or that special someone (its also a great way to burn some calories too!)
  • anything else that you love to do or partake in.

No matter what - enjoy yourself during your reward time. After all - you've earned it.

Much like a number of responses, clothes are more of a necessity for a smaller size than a reward. I guess clothes shopping was a frustration to find things that fit nicely when I was a larger size and I'm still having problems finding things that fit now that I'm much smaller. Oh well! And much like a number of responses, taking time out for myself is also a reward. I love doing beadwork and a jewellry reward is to design a new necklace, earrings or bracelet or all of them! Nail polish or new make up is also something I treat myself to and need not be an expensive treat.

Ah man, I've had this mapped out forever. I knew I couldn't keep myself motivated enough to drop the weight without forseeable rewards in the future. I even broke my first reward early, and I think that's what sent me back 7 pounds... so I had to start again so close to where I began at 215... but at least it wasn't 227 right?

my goals:

1gw: 200, I can wear my jeans

2gm: 180, a food scale and measuing cups for wherever I go

3gw: 160, pedicure and manicure

4gw: 150, climbing a tree I love

5gw: 130, 3 M.A.C. items

6gw: 124, An, I'm Not Fat Party! yay!!! i know it's egotistical, but I think I can show off after 100 pounds weight loss when it happens.

Well i just started but my goals are

140: a new dress

130: a new 2 piece swimsuit

120: (if i can do that at 5'6"Wink) a new bikiniLaughing

I just saw this forum looked interesting so read it

I would go for a long walk and feel wonderful maybe swim or buy a dress anything is great knowing i have removed enough weight to celebrate

I have removed around 20 pounds and still have more to go so anything to motivate me is good

FFS

I try not expensive things to reward myself like a picnic

you know

stuff for free that you wouldn't do often

I am very impressed with all the creative and innovative "rewards" people have shared.

My money is also on a diet, so some of the monetary-based rewards, while sounding lovely (a massage, for example) are out of reach. I appreciated the suggestions which were free or inexpensive such as a charm for a bracelet, picinic, movie rental, or flowers.

While new clothes are often a necessity, you can make the trip "rewarding" by incorporating something fun or frivolous with the shopping such as a coffee out or sharing the day with a friend.

CC has to be the one of the most inspiring and comforting websites around.

Good luck (and rewards) to all!Smile

This is really a fun thread to read.  I really loved reading all the different "rewards."  I like that some of you include others in the sharing of any rewards.  But I do think the most important person to reward is yourself!   razrunner gave  the same reward to himself that I am going to give to myself--several glasses of red wine.  But my goal is to reach 5 consecutive mornings under 180.  I have made 4.  I promised myself that tody I would not cheat and deliberately exercise more than normal or eat less than my 2000 calorie daily average.  I am a 62 year old male.  I exercise (lightly for the most part) 3 hours during the course of the day.  I have dropped 32 pounds or so from February 2nd.

I like the party idea.  That's great.  I think I'll do that too.  Right now I'm at 203. My goal is 141.  I lost 6 pounds this week. When I lose 10 I'll do something nice for myself. Don't know what yet, though.
