Weight loss group for breastfeeding moms!
I think that us moms who breastfeed just cannot compare ourselves to everyone else - except myabe those that are pregnant!
i try to focus on others and there calories and goals but mine just dont compare-- therefor i think we need our own weigh in group!!
im a mom to a 2 yr old and a five month old
i am 5'4 - 24 years old
starting weight-185 back from january
current -161.4
goal -135
i weigh in on tuesdays- but heck as long as we post are weights on whichever day we can support one another!
i think this will be fun- we can compare our excerise rather then to peep who workout vigorously since we have to keep our milk supply too!
What's your stats??
Got on my scale and it read 127, I was up to 131 on Sunday, so I am hoping my efforts these past few days have done something. I know it's normal to fluctuate, but I would like to think that I am making some headway. It's so hard with 5 kids to refrain from indulging in their little snacks, etc. Especially since breast feeding makes me feel so hungry. I am starting to drink more versus eating, and feel better(probably because I'm not dehydrated now!) so maybe this is the tip of that ice burg? Wish me luck!
And CONGRATS Shauna_182, slow and steady is definelely the way to go-it means lifestyle changes, which are good. Best of luck to you!
Hi, I'm also a BF mom to a 6 month old I also have a almost 2 year old that I BF for a year. I would like to lose weight also and would like to know what you are doing to lose weight? my weight has barley budged at all. So any advice and help on how many calories you are eating or if you are using a weight loss program would be great.

Hi
I just joined cc !!!!
I'm a mother of a almost 9 month old boy
and still breast feeding and I love it. I just don't want to give it up until he is at least a year old.
ohh I'm 5'4 and small frame
my starting weight is 147 and my goal is 125
Want to learn how to eat better and lose this belly fat
Question :
Do breast really go down after you quit breast feeding?
Because I was a size 34B before I had my baby and I am now in a size 36DDD I just want to know if their is a chance of going back to at least a C cup after a all?
I'm hoping this helps me! I've gained after an initial loss. :( I'm eating like I'm still pregnant, which isn't really working for me. I think I'm resentful that I can't just eat whatever I want. dangit! I've got a healthy 11 week old, a great milk supply, so I think its time to stop making excuses and start eating better. Looking forward to the group support!
Height: 5'5"
Weight at delivery: 185
Weight today: 164
Goal: 140-and to have the crazy fold over belly reduce or disappear!
Weight training will greatly reduce the boobies after you stop brestfeeding.I was a small C before kids. I was a DD while breastfeeding my first and then a C after my initial baby weight loss. When I started really weight training again, I went down to an A.
I am a big C now while 10 days postpartum and breastfeeding. Maybe I'll get to keep some this time. ![]()
Hi all, Im Kristen 26yrs old and have a beautiful 6 month baby boy. I am ebfing too! I just saw a pic of myself and was absolutely depressed with what I look like. On top of it, have my clothes still dont fit. Im hanging on to 10lbs and they wont budge. Granted, I havent been that great about my diet....so thats why im here!
Height 5,1 small frame
Pre preg 125
Current 135
Goal 120........maybe 115, if I can get there
My little one has started solids 3xs per day........how much do you think I need calorie wise??? The CC gave me a 1600 calorie limit and I did check bfing off, did it calculate my needed calories already???
1600 sounds close, but that depends on your activity level. What's that looking like?
Im walking about 3x per wk for one hour with the stroller.......

Yup, the boobies will go back down. It depends on your genetics, I guess. A friend BF for a little over a year, and ended up 2 sizes smaller than she was pre preggers! I'm just hoping for the same size!
Hi All- Don't know if there is still room to join. I'm trying to lose the weight from my pregnancy, my daughter will be 3 months in Nov. I will be heading back to work on Nov. 3 and can fit into some of my prepregnancy clothes, but not nearly enough of them.
I was looking at the recommended calorie intake per day and it seems as though this is going to be a tough thing to accomplish. Any hints on how to make it through the day without starving or being completely exhausted.

Break up your meals. That's what I did when I went back to work. I'd do about 200-300 cals "meal" every 3-4 hours. Meal is like a bowl of cereal and a piece of fruit. Then half a sandwich and some veggies, so forth and so on. Are you still taking your pre natal vitamins? As long as you are breastfeeding you should be taking some sort of vitamin.
Is the little one going to be in Day Care? Is it close by your work? If it is ( w/n 2 miles or so) then how about bike riding overthere during your lunch time? Peddle over there, can give the little one some lunch, then peddle back to work. I'm going to do that as soon as the bike path is completed from the day care to the office. Even if it's only 2 days a week, that will still be a good workout, yeah?
My stats:
Nov 10th : 130
Goal: 120-125 by December 20th
EDIT. Alas ladies, I've weaned the little booger. I guess I can no longer be in the BF mommy weight loss club, but do not fear!! I've joined other groups out there. I'll see y'all around!
Well, I am a new mommy to an almost 6 month old girl :) She is the absolute best thing in my life, despite how hard it was at first to adjust to a new life in the family. The hormone shifts were horrible, and I was just so exhausted....plus, like many babies, mine did not take naps, and was nursing constantly for 3 months...it took that long (plus some fenugreek supplements) to get my milk supply up to what she needed. But now we are doing well...taking naps, sleeping for more than 2 hr stretches at night, etc. SO, I'm excited now to get back into the groove of exercising.
The other night I remembered how athletic I used to be...how good it felt to be able to run in races, play tennis, and just be active without the aches and pains of being overweight. So I got inspired to try to get back to that point. It's been a while, but I really want to feel that way again....confident, invincible, strong.
OK, so I am 5'6". At birth I weighed 204, and now weigh about 180. I need to get down to about 150 to be healthy...I started out the pregnancy overweight (180). I am exercising, breastfeeding, and trying to control my intake, but I am a serious over eater and lack all control when something is in front of me. I am a stay-at-home mom at the moment, working part time from home, and finding time for me to exercise has been difficult. BUT, now that my daughter goes to sleep around 6pm, and stays asleep for about 3-4 hrs before wanting to eat again, I head out to the track around 7pm to get in some laps and run up/down the stadiums.
I get derailed easily from my plans and goals...my cynical, whining side rears its head very easily, so I'm going to try to avoid that by getting motivation from this site frequently.
Best wishes to you all, thanks for letting me vent, and thanks for posting!
