15 Pound Weight Loss Group

Quote  |  Reply
I am getting married in September and am trying to loose 15 lbs. I would love to have a support group and have tried joining weight loss groups with coworkers / friends but they laugh when I tell them my goal is "only" 15 lbs. But I have been trying to loose those 15 lbs for about 5 years now with no luck. Anyone with me? Monday weigh ins?

Hi Alice,

Count me in!

I started the CC on April 1st @ 135 lbs. I'm only 5"2 so a drop of 15 lbs. would definitely help this body frame of mine. My goal is to lose it before end of May if I could stay "motivated & discipline". Ah! The 2 magic words. Mondays weight in sounds good. Will update my progress on April 7th.

Hello! I've been on CC for a little while now but haven't had much luck. I think that a support group like this might be just what I need. My name is Anj, I'm 23yrs old, 5'3", started at 135lbs but have been stuck at 125lbs for the past six weeks. My goal is to get down to 110lbs, though I'm not too hung up on the scale so long as I lose a few inches off my waist and legs and maybe gain some nice lean muscle. I have a really tiny frame so people always think I'm skinny until they see me in a bikini and notice all the jiggle on my middle. I've heard that the unhealthiest place to carry extra weight is on your middle too so that's just one more reason to try to get rid of it.

My biggest problem is motivation. I find it really hard to get myself going on the exercise routine lately because I haven't been losing anything and am getting discouraged. I really need a good old kick in the butt.

Can't wait for weigh in on Monday, good luck all!

Hello All.. count me in as well!!! I'm 21 years old and 5'4". I actually started this diet in January. When I started I was 180lbs... when I weighed myself on 4/1/08 I was 170lbs... Ive done ok but kind of fell off for a couple of weeks. Im coming back and plan on coming strong this time!! My goal is to lose at least 15 more pounds before July 22 (thats the day that my fiance' and I plan to get married). Im hoping that this serves as great motivation... Good luck everyone!!

Hi - I'd like to join this as well as 15lbs is exactly what I am looking to lose.  I just started getting back on track and recording all my meals, but a support group always helps.  I'm 5'7 and I'm at 167 right now, want to get down to low 150s.   The weekends are typically what hurt me the most so I have to watch it for that Monday weigh-in!

Ah! I finally caught a group while it's still fresh! Count me in, too.

5'4" 140 lbs, 22 yo, small frame. I've got 15 lbs to my goal weight, so this will be a great group! I've lost 12 lbs already since February. I'm hoping to get down to 125 eventually. My shortest term goal is down 10 lbs by May 21st. I don't have a ton more to lose, so I'm focusing a lot on lowering my body fat percentage to get toned and good-lookin'. Monday weigh ins sound splendid. I was going for Wednesdays, but I hadn't started yet, so here goes! Woo hoo!

I would LOVE to join and ultimately lose 15lbs. As of this morning I weigh 129.8 so I'll take it as 130 lbs. but would love to weigh 115 lbs. I got off track and completely blew my goal of 125 lbs by April 15th. Hopefully this will get me motivated again and back on track. It's hard once you mentally set yourself to fail. I wish every one luck during the weekend since that is the most challenging time for me. See you Monday!

hey great. im getting married in oct and also trying to lose 15lbs of fat. lost about 10 over the last year, but its been a roller coaster.  my biggest problem cheese, wine & chocolate. i exercise just fine (except in the winter) but i constantly think about food, especially when im emotionally upset. 5'7 at 161, going to weight watchers, wanting to get down to 140, then add some muscle, possibly up to 145 or more depending on how i look or my fat to muscle ratio. what does 5lbs of muscle look like anyway?

Hi I'm Ana. I'm 19 years old and have spent most of my teen years always chubbier than all my friends. I'm 5'4 and as of this morning am 156. Clearly I am not close to the weight range I should be for my height. I'm going to Italy for the semester in January and when I come back I have a huge wedding to go to about two months later so I want to start losing weight right now. I think my weight goal is to be 125 as soon as possible haha. I think losing 15 lbs. will motivate me to the rest so this is the perfect group. Good luck to everyone!
well im not trying to lose 15 lbs, but i did gain the freshman 15 and i'd love to lose some of it.. so im in

COUNT ME IN!!!

i've gained 15 pounds from stress binging over 9 months :( i'm done being a slave to food...in fact, today i ate my way through a box of girlscout cookies :( i realize i can get over this, i just need a little push in the right direction. good luck guys!

Me too!!  I have gained weight stress binging and I feel horrible. I cant stop with the candy - I feel out of control!

I am in - I will check in on Monday.

Good Luck All

It seems like a ton of us have really similar stats! This will be awesome because we'll be able to relate pretty well.

Alice- isn't it funny how most coworkers are totally unsupportive if you only need to lose just a little bit of weight? It's like health concerns aren't valid until you get obese. Yesterday I had a coworker say to me, "You're starting to look too skinny. Start eating more, you need to gain some weight so I look skinnier."

And then I found out she just joined weight watchers! Well, good for her! Anyone else have any stories?

Well it is Monday and I am completely embarrassed that I have to post what I weighed - but here goes

4-7-08 - 152

I am off to the gym. I wish getting exercise was my problem - my problem is eating bad crap - I am done today I swear!

Happy Monday everyone!

Date: April 7/08

Week Diet: 1

Result: Down 2 lbs. (started off @ 130 lbs last week)

Comment:

Weekends is my toughest challenge so for my first diet weekend, I  went on a 12 & 13 km, moderate pace hikes instead of the usual sleeping in, shopping, movie, and pub stuff that I have done in previous weekends.

Good luck everyone!

Congrat on your upcomming marriage. Loosing 15 lbs is not a difficult task to do as long as you watch your calories and exercise. Take it from a guy who have never exercise or careless about eating healthy until 1 month ago. I myself lost 19 lbs over a 35 days period and I will explain to you what I eat and do on a daily basis. I am a 5 feet 10 inches guy and original weight was 191 lbs and now I am at 173 lbs. First of all, you need to stop drinking sodas even the diet sodas completely. Stop eating fried food and junk food completely. Eat light every 3 hours even if you are not hungry. They said that for a woman, you should eat less than 1000 calories or more than 1200 a day and for man, you should not eat less than 1200 and no more than 1500 a day. Hit the gym and start using the eleptical or threadmill. Jog and or walk for at least a mile a day for everyday except Saturday and Sunday.

Morning I would eat a fresh fruit like a banana (110 calories) and about 1.4oz of Kellogg's Smart Start cerial without the milk (150 calories). 3 hours later I would eat 10oz Healthy choice meal (260 Calories lunch) and a Kellogg's bar (90 calories). 3 hours later I would eat an Orange (60 calories). After work, I go straight to the gym and jog for about 1.5 miles and lift light weights. By dinner time, I would eat anything I want but no more than 500 calories. I do not eat dinner no later than 7 pm.

I hope this helps and good luck.

well i see some of us had a bad week. bfondario im the same as you, no problem what so ever exercising but food, especially food with nice wine.... & i don't even eat bad crap, i mean there are somethings like cheese that's not bad but i probably eat 98% more than i should. i dont eat fast food or crisps. anyhoo try having some cut carrots around you always, so you just munch on them.  im trying that this week.

happy monday everyone. btw - my weigh ins at weight watchers are thursdays, so ill post my weight next week. & that witch leader of mine wouldn't let me take off my mbt shoes which weigh around 1.5lbs each!! well she's not really a witch im just pouty cuz i don't know how much i actually lost. but this weekend was not good due to having to deal with female problems.

The dreaded weigh in day! This one is horrible for me too.

Starting Weight: 125lbs.

This week: 127.5lbs

Result: +2.5 lbs! Ack!

I'm hoping that most of this is just bloat from last night. My sister got engaged (finally) and so everyone celebrated with a nice dinner and some champagne. So I'm putting the 2.5lb gain as bloat or my scale wanting to torture me. Either way I'm going to try to be more careful this week.

I'm off to a job interview feeling like a balloon. Hope this doesn't affect my chances, haha! Wish me luck!
