15 Pound Weight Loss Group

I am getting married in September and am trying to loose 15 lbs. I would love to have a support group and have tried joining weight loss groups with coworkers / friends but they laugh when I tell them my goal is "only" 15 lbs. But I have been trying to loose those 15 lbs for about 5 years now with no luck. Anyone with me? Monday weigh ins?

ooh, thanks thinthought, Ill try that out and see how it goes.  Ironically, weekdays are the hardest for me, I am oh so disciplined when I have more free time.

ysrules, i too seem to blow anything good that i've done during the day at night. about 2 years ago i used to come home from my job & stuff myself.  i started to go to the gym after work because i was too afraid to go home & stuff myself. now i know that sounds like a good idea but i was actually running away from my problem & not dealing with it.  i think before you start studying you need to relax & like thinthought wrote, take time to eat something tasty, satisfying and filling before the all nighter.  i did the old working full time & practically going to college full time & that's where my habit of misusing food to help me get through things, so i understand where you are coming from.

Happy Monday!  Well could have been happier...weighed in today 1 lb heavier than last week Frown.   I was doing great up until my girl's night out on Saturday and I had a few too many....will have to make up for it this week!  Wish I didn't like beer so much!!!

Oh Mondays. So cruel.

I had a bit of a topsy turvy weekend so this weigh in may be a bit off but here goes.

Starting weight: 125lbs.

Last week: 127.5lbs.

This week: 125lbs.

Result: Back to where I started from. At least it wasn't another 2.5lb gain!

I'm hoping for some progress this week instead of yo-yo-ing.

hugcooke - that's what happened to me last week. A little too much celebrating for my sister's engagement put me up 2.5lbs. But it's probably mostly bloat from the alcohol and will probably go back down this week so don't worry too much. Just start fresh this week.

+3?!?!? I don't get it, I have actually been focusing on what I am eating and had, not a perfect weekend, but decent- not good..... I guess I will have to focus really hard this week.......

I was hoping for more positive (or should I say negative :)) results- it is a little discouraging, I am trying not to play the whole "what's the point" game in my head......

I finally stood on a scale to get my actually weight last week which was 136 lbs.  After this weekends festivities I am now:

-->hugcooke....I feel yah on the beer.  Why does it have to be so tasty and always calling my name??  I did find out that Guiness has a little less calories then Sierra Neveda and about the same as most light beers.

so my weigh in at weight watchers on thurs said i was down 5lbs, but thats because of my shoes weighing 3lbs last week, so really i have lost a total of 3lbs (1.5lbs per week) the last two weeks.

im trying my friend's suggestion that i not have any wine in the house. if i want wine i have to go to a pub/bar. so this weekend i didn't have any wine in the house. just got back from going to a hotel bar to have 1 glass of wine. the sun was out for maybe 5 minutes but it was nice to sit outside & have a glass of wine (w/ a glass of h2o too). it was almost as satisfying as having a bottle in the house. i still think i might need 3 months to break the habit before i introduce wine into the house again. especially since i like to eat with a complimentary wine.

i ran over 8 kilometers on sun as well for my fun races this year, as well as 2 shorter runs during the week. managed to exercise every day last week, except took a break on friday & did some light swimming on sat. so im hoping this thurs, the scale will be kind to me.

for me, i'm still rocking the 146 pounds :( but i'm not sure if it's because i'm about to start my period or because i didn't excerise as much because i was sick...hopefully better results soon!

hmm, seems like no one posted anything today. on thurs i gained 1.5 lbs even though the day before one of my pants felt looser in the waist.  and i had a very hi calorie day yesterday, ooops!

Hi - I am down a bit (2 lbs) since last week to 166 so maybe I finally burned off all those calories from my night out!  BTW Stace - thanks for the reminder that Guinness is almost the same as drinking a light beer!  I usu do drink the Sierras too.    I have been working out like crazy at the gym 5 out of 7 days the last week so I had better start seeing some results!

rnjt - as long as your clothes are noticeably fitting better it shouldn't matter as much if you actually gained a few!  amazing how one day of a bit of splurging will reflect on the scale the next!

A day late and couple pounds short!! Yeah!  I'm excited to announce that I have lost 2 pounds.  I'm thinking it was all the dog walking/jogging w/my sweet puppy Buddy and dancing/cleaning house!  There is something theraputic about dancing around in your undies while sipping wine, cleaning house, and listening to great music! Cool  Congrats Hugcook!!    I was horrible and didn't go the gym at all last week.  I have been doing some good stretches in the morning- and i've noticed I'm a little more awake in the mornings since then!

Hope you ladies are having fun getting ready for bathing suit season!

sorry i guess we are all getting distracted. im down 4lbs from my weigh in on thurs. was bad this weekend though.  does anyone have any quick breakfast ideas for a veg meal, that has protein in it (besides eggs!!)? i seem to have the most problems with that & then im starving by 11 like i am right now.

Hi!  I would like to join if I can?  I am 31 years old, 5'11 and weigh 164.6.  I have been at this weight for about 5 months now.  I work out every morning with 3 days of weight training (1 day with a trainer) and 2 days of spinning class.  I already eat as healthy as I can imagine and can't lose ANYTHING!  I am losing my motivation and getting depressed.  I want to have another baby, but don't want to do it until I lose 15 pounds.  I would love to have the motivation of a support group but have never been real good about keeping up with it!!!

Hi ladies!!  Why is it so hard to behave on the weekend!  I was uber bad and drank up a storm.  I have gained 4 pounds since last week, BUT I won't let that get me down.  I just need to get back in saddle of eating better and putting down the delicious alcohol.

 

Rochelle, I'm not sure if there are still a lot of ladies hoping to drop the pounds.....but I'm here!  I'm trying to check in once a week!  Congrats on working hard!  I completely understand loosing motivation.  I didn't start loosing the pounds until I stopped doing as much weight training- the story goes that muscle weighs more than fat.  If you are looking to trim down w/a little muscle tone, do more cardio and work with the ball and free weights!

I kind of droppe out for a bit (for some reason I thought this group was in weight loss) but I'm hanging in there!

My last weigh (it was before monday, sorries) was 128. I was 127. something for a bit.

I might be at a muscle gaining plateau? my weight is stationary but my bfp according to my tanita scale is going down! despite an awful rare weekend binge! I think I i will have to start incorporating a weekly cheat meal, in the form of chicken fingers or a piece of pizza into my weekly diet.

Hooray! five pounds since I started this! Also, I'm wearing my jeans WITHOUT a muffin top! yay me! also I see ABS! who else is seeing results?

anyone who has any expertise or knowledge of nutrition, body fat percentage, muscle gaining or workout advice, I'd like to speak to you! I have general questions about how I'm going about this.

 

 

After what seemed like an eternity of staying in the same weight range (ok three weeks) down 2.4 lbs!! goal- get rid of .6 by the end of the week ;)
