Weight-loss Insatiability!
So I've been avidly counting for 3 months on Monday & I've lost 20 lbs so far (16 or so to second goal). But at this milestone, I realize that I'm a lot less happy than I imagined I would be. I see such change and in clothes it's so obvious, but I still have such a long way to go to a flat stomach, let alone bikini-ready. And with only 16 lbs left to go, I hope there's major change in store.
Has anyone else experienced such an...not unhappiness. But I guess disappointment??
Congratulations on the weight loss!
I don't know what to say, because I know I will never have a flat stomach or be able to wear a bikini without being asked if I'm pregnant. Even when I was 120 lbs and 5'4, I had a pot belly. It will always be there. I'm 185 now and I look about 8/9 months pregnant. So maybe you should consider if your stomach is really that bad? Maybe you are criticising yourself too much?
You did not say how tall you are but 16 lbs, visually, is a bigger loss than the previous 20. Thats because there is less of you now to spread the weight over than there was 20 lbs ago. So yes, you will see even bigger improvements over the next 16 lbs. This change will be even bigger if you are short.
BUT - you also have to be realistic. You can not get bikini ready just losing the weight. You need to have good muscle tone too. If you are working on your muscle tone - the more fat you lose off that muscle the more defined it will become and the more attractive the net result. If you are just going for weight loss alone and not improving or working to keep the muscle you have, you will just end up "skinny fat". Not really a good bikini look.
I'm 5'4, 21 yrs. old, so that does make me feel a little bit better. And yeah, I know. I strength train a couple times a week doing various things. You can actually visibly see the outline of a 4 pack hidden underneath years of fat-about since age 11 or 12. Really weird lol
I'm 23 and 5'4" and I've always had a belly pooch, too! It's right around the uteral area. I've been doing some strength training and ab exercises and I'm starting to see outlines of biceps and the four pack stomach. Unfortunately it feels like there's an inch thick layer of fat over top of that four pack area....but it has an outline! :) If we keep doing what we're doing, you and me, we will be happy!![]()
That's exactly it!!! I've never met anyone else who experienced it though!!! What's your weight?
Right now I'm 140...my next goal is 135. If I think I can maintain a lower weight I'll go for CC's goal for me of 128.
Also, I think I have a light case of PCOS though and I have a liver disease.
I thought I had PCOS, too, but have never been tested for that. I just have Celiac. Wow. You're overcoming a lot!
My first gyn appt. I was ultrasounded (don't ask where) and the doctor said I prolly had PCOS. I got a blood test the same day and the results were that I do have a little excess testosterone.
TBH I think your Celiac is worse than my Wilson's disease (the liver disease). You have to go gluten free...all I have to do is not drink, eat organ meats (blech) or shell fish and take a pill 3 times a day on an empty stomach. I think that's child's play compared to what you have to deal with. :)
Wanna friend each other? Seems like we have stuff in common. :)
