Weight loss motivation! Lose 15 pounds by the Fourth of July, 2008!!!

Inspired by Pompay's challenge last year, I decided to do this to motivate myself as well as others. There's two months left until Independence day, so lets claim our independence of this extra weight. Who's with me??? Okay, so just state your current height, weight, and how much you would like to weigh by the Fourth of July. Any motivation words will be great! Good luck everybody!
Okay, me first!
Height: 5'2"
Weight 134.5 lbs
Want to weigh by Fourth of July: 119.5
Ultimate Goal before birthday (July 22) 115
Let's see what happens!

Hey razormonkee!  I keep being bad but yesterday i walked briskly for an hour and a half!  I'm trying to be good, i really am.  A smoothie sounds great, i think ill make one and add fiber powder to it as well.  I guess the only exercise i can really do outside is walking, as i hate running if its not on a treadmill.  i have a fear of falling lol.  Keep it up!  Your dog is getting healthy too!  
cool, ash --   what a good idea about honey mustard.  YUM  --    I am going to try and use this challenge to A) keep myself moving in the right direction after my vacation and my challenge is over and B) if I weigh in here Saturday, I am hoping I will not overeat or drink too much on Fridays....   MY other weigh in is Friday AM and I usually do well until then, then Friday night I drink more than I should.  I quit drinking during the week to jump start my losing.  It worked... 

hey -- kate?  I may do a weigh in AND a measure in with you on Saturdays.   Maybe even when I don;t lose a lot of lbs, I ams still shrinking.  ( ;
hi asize12.  You can report whenever you need the motivation or just want to talk.  i havent been reporting daily due to school obligaitons and i understand the same goes for everybody else.  whenever you want to report, you can.  we are doing weekly weigh ins on saturday for whoever wants to, and you can report your weight any other day if you want.  welcome!

Hey all!

I went to the dr today and weighed in at 160.5. Two weeks ago I weighed in at 161.8, so that's minus 1.3 pounds in 2 weeks...a little discouraging, but it's TTOM, so I hope to see better results next week or so.

SW: 169

W1: 161.8

yay for being down during TTOM, danyelle!   ( :    do you do inches too?  I find always when I am not losing lbs, a quick measure reveals positive changes.  Or try on that pair of pants that was too tight and be amazed. 

How is everyone today?  I made an awesome, quick, easy dinner --- spaghetti squash and homemade pasta sauce with lots of veggies.  Making a veggie filled stir fry tonight with shrimp.  ( :

I don't do inches, even though I know I should, especially with the scale on the fritz. I didn't take my measurements went I started, so I wouldn't know what has changed. I guess I could start comparing in May...hmmm.

I bought some ankle/wrist weights at Salvation Army yesterday. Anyone know how they can be put to good use?

YAY!  I love ankle and wrist weights, razor --  cardio punch with them...   treat them like a light hand weight and so bicep curls, triceps, shoulder raises, etc.  I also used the ankle ones to do donkey kicks (for your butt). squats, leg raises (both standing and seated)....  good buy for cheap, girl!

Take inches now too ---- it makes me feel better when the scale is stubborn to see a drop in inches.  ( ;    (just my 2 cents)

Well, I took my inches yesterday. I think I'm going to take them every two weeks or so. I also played around with my wrist/ankle weights, and today my triceps are upset with me.

Does anyone else ever plan out their meals for the week in one day? I sat down last night and decided what I was eating for the rest of the week. My schedule's all crazy --- it's finals week, and then I have to pull a 12-hr shift Saturday at work for Graduation...I work at the campus bookstore, and we can never miss an opportunity to make money off people...gross. And Mother's Day is Sunday, so I had to plan some cheating in.

I would like to plan my meals out for the week, and I try, but it changes frequently. I'll think about the week, and see what to have, but it can change on a day to day basis.  Like I'll plan for chicken on a salad for Wednesday, but when Wednesday rolls around, I'll change it to grilled shrimp with vegetables.

no kidding --  I try to plan ahead.  But no....   I typically just make sure I have lots of veggies and some proteins on hand, chicken, chrimp, fish, etc. 

I should...... 

Once a month, take compare measurements.  ( :  I am always shocked!

I just got back from my THIRTEEN hour shift and have no desire to eat anything, but I'm only at 950 calories today. My feet hurt too much for me to stand up to cook anything. Le sigh. But I have to tell you I'm very proud of myself---my job bought McDonald's for lunch today, but I ate my peanut butter on whole wheat and carrots...and a 100 cal pack of Cheez-Its. The only thing I got from McDonald's was a gigantic Diet Coke.

I'll post my weight tomorrow after I borrow my Gramma's scale at my family's Mother's Day extravaganza.

I'm at 239, down 4 pounds!!

 

That was this morning, then this afternoon I had my nephew's birthday party. Meaning cakes and chips and all the bad things! 

Back on the weight loss train tomorrow!

I had my Saturday measure, and I'm at 33 1/2". Not bad. I wish that all those programs for losing belly weight were more than just hype though. 

Oh, and razormonkee, way to be strong in the face of free McDonalds. That's impressive.

I am now ready to deal with the hard facts. I was 138 in January that is history.

 

I am now 144.1 I want to be 132 in about 3 months. Thats 4 pounds a month...

 

How rude of me- a few words: I am 25 from Israel and have been around the site for a few months now. Me and Olivia have been buds for a while and I am looking forward to get to know you all.
