Weight loss motivation! Lose 15 pounds by the Fourth of July, 2008!!!
Inspired by Pompay's challenge last year, I decided to do this to motivate myself as well as others. There's two months left until Independence day, so lets claim our independence of this extra weight. Who's with me??? Okay, so just state your current height, weight, and how much you would like to weigh by the Fourth of July. Any motivation words will be great! Good luck everybody!

Height: 5'2"
Weight 134.5 lbs
Want to weigh by Fourth of July: 119.5
Ultimate Goal before birthday (July 22) 115

Hello ladies (and gentlemen if there are any-- I didn't see), congratulations to all on your current weight loss -- and the bang up job you are doing at supporting and motivating each other!

So I weighed myself on Sunday, and I'm at 158.7 lb!! That's the lowest I've ever been in my adult life!!

Hello all!!!
Trying to get to where I need to be to be at my ideal weight for my wedding. The wedding date is August 9. The dress is already in and I am delaying the fitting because I want to be closer to my goal. If I get there by July 4 then I have time for final fittings...:)
So I guess that is my motivation.....Soooo much can fly out of our control on a wedding day....this is one of the few things I can control ("Wisdom to know the difference"....) So I am going for it!

The lake on my jog route is full of ducks and geese, and now they have baby goslings too!!!!! Very cool --

Height: 5'6"
Start Date: 3/12/08
SW: 155lb.
CW: 137lb.
GW: 120lb.
Anyway, I went from 155lb. to 140lb. in 7.5 weeks too. Just thought it might be encouraging to hear from someone with a similar height and weight.

how many cals and how much exercise did you do each day to reach that?

I did 1200 cal/day (I'm very, very sedentary - work in front of a computer all day), but had cheat meals here and there too (once every couple weeks, sometimes a little more). I didn't exercise at all, which I don't suggest, of course. I just wasn't quite ready to commit to that too. I've just joined a gym and plan to up my calories to 1500 on the days I work out, and see how that goes for the last 15 - 20 pounds. I wish I had good b4 pics to show you, but I didn't think to take any (when I was 155, I wanted to see what someone like me looked like at the different weights going down).
thanks :) ive got exams for the next couple of weeks so will be incredibly inactive- so i think il just do as you've done and eat 1200. Im planning to do a lot of activity in summer though so il probably up it then. Just wondering but how many clothes sizes did you drop? Do you notice quite a change in your figure? Good luck with the gym- i know what a chore that can be but stick in and im sure you'll get results! :)
thanks! Yeah. That was my problem. I had so much going on that I did not have time to exercise. But, by at least cutting my calories, I was going down instead of up in the meantime.
actually, I still can't quite fit into my size 7 pants. Still in 9's, so I actually haven't gone down at all (except there are some of my 9's that I don't think really fit b4 - hadn't worn them for awhile, so not sure - but that fit great now!). Sorry if discouraging, but I think that might just be my body comp. I don't gain in any one spot. I gain literally all over at once (and lose the same way), so it seems to take alot of weight (going up or down - which is part of why I got so big also - didn't grow out of clothes until I was actually overweight) to see any difference in inches or clothes size. I tried on a pair of 7's that I know I wore 2 years ago (dunno what my weight was - wasn't using scale) when I was at 140lb., and couldn't even close them (BAD day). So, I'm going to try them when I get to 135lb. Hopefully I can at least button them, even if they don't look good yet!?! I'll let you know.

Sorry I have been MIA - for those of you who missed me:) I was in Florida for a much needed break and I had no computer and no scale! I must admit I am a bit worried to step on it this weekend to weigh-in but I tried my best over my vacation. Before I went I was 177.5 - we will have to wait and see where I land on Sunday....think good thoughts....

poupe -- sizes run up and down the gambit (I can wear some 8's, some 10's, and some 12's......) Keep trying them....

Poupe- I'm sure losing that much weight even if you haven't actually changed size the size your wearing will fit and look much better on you :)
MY early weigh in is kind of a lie. I am going to say "stayed the same" as last week which was (I think) 166.
I gained 14 lbs with TTOM and am still up a few, but I know it will fall back off soon enough, so yeah.

Ok - so joining this thread rather later than most of you. Been trying to shed some poundage for sometime now and keep falling off the waggon. Need some good ole light pressure to help.

Goal for 4th July (including 1 weeks holiday in Italy
) 205 - at least trying to make it acheiveable.
Overall goal is to get to 180 or below.

I will be coming to Rome - not sure what we will be doing - any ideas are very welcome.
I have 3 children - 18, 16 & 13 - and obviously my wife.
We are staying in a villa just south of Rome - so aiming for a day or two in Rome and then relax for the rest of the time.
