Weight Loss Pills

Quote  |  Reply
Anyone know the secret behind these weight loss pills? I can't picture them being good for you, but they say they help a ton losing weight, which is what I am obviously going for. Does anyone have any personal experience, good or bad, with these?

if they worked, there wouldnt be obesity. ;P

Peacelovehominy is right, if they worked no one would be fat. They have nasty side effects and in general are no good. Especially for teens whose bodies are still growing. Never tried them never will.
I believe those pills are created for those who are obese, not just people trying to lose 15-20 pounds. Like Baker said they have awful side effects.

I've tried a few different diet pills and, with all of them,  it felt like I was on the verge of having a massive panic/anxiety attack. I don't recommend it!

Years ago when "metabolife" first came out, my sister was taking the maximum recommended dose each day.  Holy cow she turned into a totally different person (personality wise).  After all that was when it had "ephedrine" in it which was basicly legal coke/speed.  She was like Dr. Jeckle Mr. Hyde scary totally!

She soon realized what it was doing to her and stopped taking them.  She now is a personal trainer and fitness instructor.  In great shape, because she works her ass off and eats right. (no pills)

I had also tried it (only one pill, before I saw what it was doing to her), and I literally could not sleep for 3 straight days, and had heart palpatations.

I do however take a minimul amount of green tea, it has no strange effects on me and is supposed to be high in antioxidants (sp?) also supposed to help with arthritis.  I have notice I have less cravings for sugar, and other crap.

alot of diet pills are a form of speed (amphetamine/methamphetamine drugs). it causes, like musictchr said, lack of sleep and heart palpatations, as well as paranoia, uncontrollable shaking, and a whole bunch of other stuff. it's really horrible, and addictive as hell. not a good idea.

I took diet pills a few year ago.

I got diarreah and I would pass out when I pooped.

Kinda funny in retrospect but believe me, not worth the trouble.  The little weight I did loose was probably from crapping so much.

The diet pill that does work=>  The placebo.  My mom does stats for a hospital, she said in alot of new drug studies (including diet pills etc.) the Placebo effect can be as strong as the the real thing.

Just take some green tea supplement and "believe" it will work.

my friend started using hydroxycut an it has worked for him, but i am still to scared to try them
I have used hydroxycut in the past, and it did work, but I only needed to loose about 5 pounds and I didnt like the way it affected my heart and made me feel jittery. I would not use it again. There is a more natural alternative I plan to check out called SEA-THIN. You can find it at whole foods market.

i agree totally. i had all of these affects. i had eating disorder and would take double if not triple the amount i was supposed to..

dieting... the goal needs to be more then losing weight.. the goal in my opinion should be changing your lifestyle...

As someone who has tried multiple kinds of diet pills, I can tell you that most either work temporarily and make you feel AWFUL, or don't work at all and make you feel awful (emotionally).

I tried RapidSlim. While I did lose five pounds in three days, I was out of school for two weeks because I couldn't stop shaking and vomiting. It was absolutely horrific. Naturally, I gained it back after I was well again. I have heart flutterings to this day. I've tried other pills, which have proved pointless. Instead, I have turned to lighter forms of pills, which are actually supplements. And they AREN'T jam-packed with caffiene and selenium.

Right now, I've been taking Green Tea Fat Burner from Applied Nutrition. The natural caffine in the green tea is the perfect amount. I have yet to feel any shakiness, sickness, or ill side effects. And you can pull it right off the shelf at places like WalMart. I would definitely recommend it.

But, there really isn't any way to lose weight without good food intake and exercise. In short, make sure you read the labels for projected weight loss, as some pills are a small step below crack, to put it frankly. And keep counting calories.

I diet off and on, usually trying to lose the 15 pounds I gained without realizing while on vacation or around the holidays or whatever. I have dieted with and without pills. I do see a positive difference when I use them. I use hydroxycut hardcore 1 capsule, 2x daily about a half hour before lunch and dinner up to a maximum of 2 capsules, 2x daily if I am going to be eating/burning a lot.  I have found that it helps me curb overeating (less hungry when i sit down to eat) and gives me a little more energy. It's different for everyone. If your going to use diet supplements, stop IMMEDIATELY if you fell any odd side effects. Don't use more than recommended and don't start out at the top dose.  Listen to your body!!
