100 pound + Weight loss Roll call!
I realize there are several of us on here who have lost over 100 pounds... (and several who want the motivation to do it!) Just thought that I'd start a thread here to show it CAN be done... the RIGHT way... and can be maintained!
motivateme32...turn that frown upside down :) You and others here are so inspirational to me!! 102 pounds!!! HOLY COW. That's awesome. Keep up the good work! It's my first week taking this seriously, down 4 pounds but have about 96 to go and need to keep the motivation going. That's the hard part! It is AMAZING to see the people here working so hard and dropping the pounds and most importantly living a healthier lifestyle. Congratulations to you all! I hope to be there someday. :)
motivate: You're STUNNING!!!
WHen I get upset about "no weight loss this week" I love to go back and look at my graphs/charts etc... Not to mention putting on the pair of jeans that I can pur BOTH of my legs in right now...
You're doing sooooooo great! Even if you never lose anothe rounce... think how healthy and awesome you're doing today... Think jow much better today is than even two months ago!
You're fantastic!
and snorman: Good for you! I love how it feels to start getting healthy... even the differences in my body with my own hands are on my waist!
It doesn't matter how many tv shows or what else they put this on... but it's sooooooooo true... It's not about some sort of "finish line"... it really is about becoming someone new... the great part about it is you have so much support HERE and you're going to LOVE how the new you feels!

Thanks Tamara! You're pictures are truly amazing. Just going back to look at them is probably motivational for you. I cannot wait to have before and after pictures! :)
No such thing as an "after" picture for me.... *lol*...The smallest picture of me on here is at 185... I actually lost ten pounds more AFTER and felt like I was "finished"... or could be happy at that weight forever...
DUH!!!! not before and after pictures... before and NOW pictures... and my NOW will keep getting smaller over the years... and then stay the same forever!!!
(Pictures are awesome... I take them EVERY time I think I look good in an outfit... and compare them with the ones I took last... sometimes just a WEEK before... but I'm sure to do new ones every month!)

Congratulations to all of you with the big weight reductions. I just started the process lost 20 pounds so far. How much weight did you lose on average weekly when you were at your heaviest? I'm eating 2,200 calories a day and exercising 45 minutes. Yet I can lose 5 or more pounds a week. Should I be worried?
mrmike:
Uh oh... you didn't go there, did you? Get all these ladies furious at you for your quick weight loss at that number of caloried :-)
Just kidding... when I started (at 340)... there were SEVERAL weeks I'd lose 7-9 pounds... it slows down when you get closer to goal because you have to (horror of horrors!!) reduce calorie intake to up weight loss...
Just remember... you're not working toward any sort of "finish line"... goals are good... but if you go back to eating like you did before... and exercising like you did before... the results wil lbe the SAME as before!

Thank you all for the inspirational words. =)
I have way over 100 lbs. to loose, I hit a real low when I saw 300 a few months ago, at 5'5" thats a heavy load, so now I am at 278 and moving forward. Reading all your stories and seeing all your pictures definately keeps me going. Thank you all and well done.
Hi out there! I need a partner. I just started today, I have 148 pounds to loose. Any encouragement is welcome.

YAY SANTA AND KIM... not that anyone wants to be 100 pounds overweight... but it's such a cool thing to do for yourself!
Consider this encouragement... this website is the best.. .ask and you shall receive.. no matter what's "eating" you at the moment.. .someone else has been there.. .and even if they can't make it better... they can commiserate!

Tamara - yep, the 190 lb. mark has been a tough one for me - I have been bouncing around it since May and now finally feel really motivated once again to get going!
I ran a little further today - the floppy bits are still floppy, a good jog bra helps, but I need one for my butt and my arms - who knew floppy arm skin would actually hurt when running? I don't think they make a jog bra for arms.....
mrmike: when I started out I typically lost on average of four pounds per week, and did not feel deprived or starving. What everyone needs to understand is when you have a whole lot to lose, just hauling yourself around burns way more calories than the average person, so if you cut back at all and add in some additional excercise, you will see a more quick loss. Now that I am closer to my goal, I'm lucky if I lose 2 lbs a week (and haven't seen that for awhile either) so I think it all averages out in the end.
Continued success to everyone!

Funny.. .isn't it lawcat, I honestly used to DOUBT people who said that they were "doing everything right" and still not losing...
I would thinik, "oh come on... they have something they're not logging..." because I EASILY lost 4-7 pounds a week for 8 months...
...but THIS time... NOPE... and I'm STILL big... but do everything right... and the same pound bounced ON and OFF from July 21 until August 6... but I am thrilled to report that it bounced OFF and took another one with it... The last three days have been steady weight loss... so... I think this plateau is gone... and now it's on to the next one! "-)

#double post
Just wanted to share that this week, I am able to wear sized 26 Lee
jeans from Target! I haven't been able to wear Target's clothes for
forever! I'm so thrilled! And they look nice, too (just having clothes
that actually fit vs. flop and bag around on me probably helps!).
Congrats aovermy: It's so great to be able to buy clothes in places that have "real clothes, " huh!!! I tried to hold off FOREVER when losing weight to buy clothes... but as soon as I did it once.. I changed my mind... I bought AT LEAST one pair of pants every 15 pounds or so... You just look AWEDOME when things fit!
Good for you! You should take pictures... Compare 'em to your old ones... but never throw away your "fattest" jeans... just ONE pair... (get rid of the rest!)
My size 32 from Avenue must have fallen in the laundry basket by accident... so I'm washing clothes the other day... and I thought, "What in the WORLD are those???" both legs fit in 'em now...
I'm in a 14W again now... but my size 10's are hanging in my closet... and I know in another 40 pounds, they'll fit again! *lol*

Hi Everyone,
I was at the doctor's Friday and she told me I might have a knee or hip operation. But that they (surgery) won't touch me unless I'm about 100 lighter. I'm 36 years old and she weighted me at 317lbs. The highest I've ever been. So reading all your sucess stories has really helped me think I might actually be able to do this. Thank-you!
PS. My hubby, daughter & I went on our 1st walk tonight. Only 20 mins, but I figured it's a start.

Hey marshan! Sorry about the bad news at the doctor... but if it ends in a good thing... .all the better!
20 minutes is an AWESOME walk... Think about it... How many people do YOU know who could walk for twenty minutes carrying a hundred extra pounds! That's an accomplishment! Good for you... and I'm so glad your husband and daughter are supportive, too!
Off to the gym... I have an appt. with a personal trainer this morning.
Thanks tamara
We did another walk to night, 20mins again.

marshan,
That's how I started, with doable walks. If I had started by doing an hour walk full tilt, I wouldn't have kept it up! And what I've discovered as I've continued walking is that I like it. I look forward to it. I enjoy seeing things. I watched the progression from winter into spring into summer and I look forward to seeing the progression into fall. I like seeing the "wildlife", which around here consists of squirrels, rabbits, rats, ducks (at work) and possums. And the endurance I've built up from the walking has really helped me with having the stamina to do stuff around the house too (like build a brick patio).
