This weight loss and being sick.....
I went to the gym 4 days in a row (my body is literally dragging)...not to mention that Saturday I think I picked up a stomach Flu my children had had and just gotten over. I was extremely fatiged along with some other not so fun symptoms. I thought I may just be over exerting myself but then I realized i was actually sick.
Last night was my 4th day at the gym and I literally MADE myself go. Was that the right thing to do under the circumstances. I got in a good workout but with being sick does would that hurt more than help.
When your sick do you stick to your fitness regimen?

when you're sick, it's usually best to listen to your body. you're tired all the time because your body needs sleep to help fight off whatever it is you've got. if i've got a really bad cold, i'll skip the gym and sleep. if your body is completely dragging because it's really really fatigued and exhausted, you shoudl prob forgoe the gym in favor of some rest and relaxation.
if ive just got a little sniffle or something, i'll do a light workout and that often makes me feel a bit better cuz it gets some blood pumping.

I will work out if i have a cold but never with the stomach bug. You were probably a bit dehydrated as a result of the "not-so-fun sypmtoms" of the stomach flu and working out would only cause you to become more dehydrated making you feel even worse. YOu are much better off waiting until you are feeling better then risking making yourself even worse. A cold is one thing but a stomach bug is an entirely different animal.
Feel better soon!

Draining your immune system of the extra energy it needs can keep the stomach flu around a little longer. IF your body is truly tired and exhausted from too much exersise, being sick, or whatever... then give it a day off and get some extra sleep.
So you probably should not have gone to the gym (not just for yourself but everyone else there as well who didn't want to get the stomach virus)... but you did so just listen more to your body today and see what it tells you.

I found myself asking this question recently when I had a little bug not to long ago. I did a little research and this is what I found. If you are really sick like high fever, nausia, or contagious DO NOT WORK OUT. It is important to listen to your body. But if you have a little bug where you are coughing and sneexing ect something MILD.... then its okay to work out. Its up to you to make the call, I found many conflicting sites where I learned to listen to my body. Heres some site that might help you make your decision
