How much have you lost?  70 pounds

Is this the 1st time or a repeat performance? On going process

Are you finished? No way! I want to get down to 160

How long did it take? 6 months for the first 55. Then I just slacked off and didn't do much in the way of healthy eating but still went to the gym once a week and managed to drop 15 over the next year.

How long have you kept it off?  Year and a half with no work really!

What approach did you use? First 6 months stopped drinking pop (soda haha) and made healthier choices (not hardcore though and I did not count calories) after 6 months I went back to my bad habits of eating and got bored of the gym.

But now I've found this site and am determined to get down to 150 or 160!! YAY!!!!

2 weeks in and no change though =(

how much have you lost?
55 pounds.

is this the 1st time or a repeat performance?
On going

are you finished?
Nope, I want to lose about 20 more.

how long did it take?
I started last summer.

how long have you kept it off?
Well, I haven't went into maintenance yet, so we'll see.

what approach did you use?
Get moving and I cut out junk food.

how much have you lost?
30 pounds

is this the 1st time or a repeat performance?
Only one performance.

are you finished?
Yup.. just gettin' beefy.

how long did it take?
Forever, about 6 months.

how long have you kept it off?
About 6 ot 7 months... I don't know.

what approach did you use?

Set myself a different mentality, cut out all processed junk .
Saved a lot of money on my car insurance.. by switchinh to clean eating... hahaa I kid.
I don't even have a car.

how much have you lost? 15 pounds

is this the 1st time or a repeat performance? first time

are you finished? yes, so that I can get my period back =[

how long did it take? 2.5 months

how long have you kept it off? 1 week so far

what approach did you use? loaded up on fruits and veggies and stopped eating too much junk food

how much have you lost? If we are counting when I was at my largest...88.2 pounds (heheheh!!!! Totally excited almost under 180 pounds!!!)

is this the 1st time or a repeat performance?
I really started in 2006 but kinda got a lil lax so I decided to revamp and amp it up again...so I guess it is sorta a repeat performance...sorta.

are you finished? Nupe! 40 pounds required...50 pounds desired (then I'll be at 130 which will be nicely in my BMI range..not going to go nuts if I don't get there though).

how long did it take?
Started in the beginning of 2006 so about two and a half years.

how long have you kept it off? Really about 2 and a half years.

what approach did you use?
  • "I like to move it, move it."
  • Knock out the crap
  • Eat that fiber (make your body WORK for those carbs!)
  • Reduce how much you eat (even if it is 500 cals less a day from your norm)
  • Eat naturally (that no fat low fat crap can only take you so far and many studies show when you keep it closer to its source it will ultimately be better for your body..has been for mine!)
  • Don't let ANYONE derail you (find your biggest cheerleader and use them to help jazz you up...even if its a friend from work...I have a friend at work that just gets so inspired and she is as thin as a rail but she thinks what I am doing is so great...it totally amps me up!)
  • Let your body and attitude be the natural motivator for others (I have a co-worker who is sorta of (and man I mean sort of) trying to lose weight, but her attitude stinks and she is going to fail if she keeps down that path. I have told her that I am here to help motivate her and when she is ready to let me know and I am in it both feet forward (biggest cheerleader style!!!)
  • Finally, as someone here has done...create milestone rewards for when you meet your goals. She inspires me daily because she has lost over 120 pounds and has completely changed her life. One of her rewards to herself was sky diving (no way in heck am I doing that...my feet tickle when I'm on a ladder...but you catch my drift).

how much have you lost? 18 lbs as of today :)

is this the 1st time or a repeat performance? my first serious attempt

are you finished? nope....a little more than 50 lbs left to lose

how long did it take?
two months

how long have you kept it off? ....n/a....

what approach did you use? counting my calories, really, thats it. And I walk to the park with my son. In the process of counting calories I have cut out the junk because it is too expensive (calorie). I can no longer justify eating a 700+ calorie burger, knowing that I will be hungry later, with no calories left to spare.

are you finished?  Not even close!  I want to lose about another 30.

how long did it take?   Last time it took about 6 months to get to where I wanted to be, but I kept losing very gradually for another 6 months or so after that.  This time I've been on since the end of February, and I injured myself 2 weeks ago, making exercise difficult, so it's going a little slower than I would like, but hopefully that just means I will keep it off this time!

how long have you kept it off? n/a still working on it!

what approach did you use? Calorie counting and an hour of exercise every day - running 1-2 miles, plus circuit training (combo cardio/weights)

Eating relatively cleanly, lots of water, 45+ grams of fiber daily, minimized cheats (although I still do) -- looking at this long term instead of a trip with an end. One day at a time, and never give up.  Oh yeah -- and I move.  Not often, but when I do -- it's a lot
