What approach did you use?  I eat 3 meals and 4 snacks a day - I never feel hungry or deprived.  I stay within my 1,250 calorie count.  I cut out most processed foods, chips and candy.  I cut back on pastas, breads and rice.  When I go to parties or family get togethers I take ALL my own food!

Kind of a repeat performance. 4 years ago I did a crash diet - lost about 20lbs then lost the will to carry on (not surprised!). Put it all back on and then some! This time I'm changing my lifestyle, and am here to stay :)

I'm a vegetarian, slowly cutting out dairy products now too. Avoiding carbonated drinks, most junk food, take-out food, processed foods, mindless snacking. And paying a lot of attention to portion sizes!!

1. 30 pounds 2. repeat, but then I was 14 and I was not doing it the right way...the pounds came pilling back on as soon as I loosened by diet a little 3.YUP!!! :) 4. I lost the first 20 very slowly in about 7 months, maintained for a few, and then lost the last ten again very slowly over 4 or 5 months 5. about 3 months 6. It started out as an unconscious decision. I was a chubby high schooler, terrified of the dreaded freshman 15. I just started eating healthier in an attempt to stay the same, but the first 10 pounds came off within a month or so and I felt better then I had in years. So I slowly started learning how to eat better before I stumbled across CC to help me maintain and finally get down to a weight I feel comfortable with.

is this the 1st time or a repeat performance?

Definately Repeat performance

Nope. 20kg more to go. Wish me luck! :)

how long did it take?

Second try 13 kg 3 months. As age catching up, metabolism lower, need more time.  Stable and Steady. Target 5 months to shed min 20 kg.

how long have you kept it off?

Been on YOYO diet and weight, not sure the answer. LOL!

what approach did you use?

Low calories diet and gym workout. Always aim for the output of calories higher than the intake of calories. DAILY AIM: Max 1200 calories intake, 500 calories work out.

Vege, eggwhite, soya & fish diet.

I've lost: 41 lbs.

This is a bit of a repeat, but not really... last year I lost about 20 lbs really fast in an unhealthy way and gained it all back as soon as I started eating again. This time I've changed the way I eat sustainably.

I'm not done, want to lose about 10 more lbs and build some significant muscle as well.

It's taken me about 9 months so far, and I've been doing really well. I took a break in December and ate at maintence to be sure that I could keep the weight off especially around holidays, which I did very sucessfully.

I've basically just been logging all my calories, eating at the level I calculate from Phord's calorie calculator. I also have been doing serious strength training 2-3 times a week with cardio thrown in at least twice a week.

how much have you lost? 15 pounds

is this the 1st time or a repeat performance? 1st time

are you finished? No, I'd like to lost 10 more pounds

how long did it take? 6 months

how long have you kept it off? 1 month

what approach did you use? I cut my calories to 1,200 for 2 months, and then to about 1,350 for a month, then I started doing cardio at the gym and eating about 1,800 calories. When I added strength training about 2 months later, I cut my calories to 1,500.

how much have you lost?
35 lbs

is this the 1st time or a repeat performance?
Not the first attempt, but the first sucess.

are you finished?
Nope. 5 to go! (well maybe another ten after that, have to wait and see)

how long did it take?
7 months

how long have you kept it off?
7 months

what approach did you use?

Count my calories, try and do some sort of exercise every day.

how much have you lost? 20 lbs

is this the 1st time or a repeat performance? repeat, in 2003 Ilost 60 lbs, gained it back when I got pregnant again in 2005

are you finished? no, 45 more to go

how long did it take? started mid January

how long have you kept it off? n/a

what approach did you use? cutting down on sweets and loading up on fruits, veggies and water

how much have you lost? 10 pounds,

is this the 1st time or a repeat performance? This is the first time I've actually paid attention to what I put in my body- It's partially about weight loss but mostly about nutrition.

are you finished? I'm still working on muscle tone, wouldn't mind a loss of 2-3 pounds but as I add muscle I'm not sure that's going to be possible or healthy.

how long did it take? About two months

how long have you kept it off? I'm slightly gaining because of fat loss and muscle gain, but I've been maintaining for a few weeks.

what approach did you use? Two months of 1500 cal/day- some weeks I'd get to the gym 5-6 times, others not at all depending on my workload.  I just started weight lifting this month. I also eat 5-6 small meals throughout the day, keeping me satisfied (most of the time). I allow higher calorie days- Eating out and drinking assure that I'll never stay within my limit every single day- but I've grown to accept that and don't want my diet to ruin my social life.
