how much have you lost? 20 pounds

is this the 1st time or a repeat performance? I had to decided that I had to make a life change and not diet, but change forever what i was eating. I am now eating more food, but a lot better quality (a lot of fruit and vegetables).

are you finished? I still want to lose 10 pounds. My goal is 120.

how long did it take? It has taken almost 4 months. However, the first 12 was not on purpose, it happened because I was very ill for almost 1 month. The other 8 was because I started eating a lot better and cutting out most of the junk (the weight lose from being ill is what finally gave me the motivation I needed to, not only lose the weight that I had gained in the past couple of years, but to eat a lot more healthy).

how long have you kept it off? 4 months is when my weight lose began. So, we will see. Hopefully forever.

what approach did you use? It wasn't a diet, it is a change I made to feel better and be healthier. Therefore, I call it a "life style change". When I reach my goal weight I will just eat more of what I am currently eating. I do still eat some junk food, just in smaller amounts and not as often. I have a huge weakness for Sour Cream n' Onion Ruffle Chips.

Tongue out

Also, now that it is spring time in Canada I now go out and get excercise, I go for walks 2 to 4 times a week (1 to 2+ hours a walk) and or ride my bicycle.  I also walk almost everywhere now too.

how long have you kept it off? 2 years.

what approach did you use? First, went to a personal trainer to up my muscle tone (lost 5). Then a nutritionist to learn how to have a healthy relationship w food, and how to eat to keep my blood sugar levels steady (lost another 3-5)... Then Isagenix to cleanse (lost 5-7), then just more exercise, and counting calories (another 5), then Slimfast (another 3), and now just calories in vs calories out (another 4)... Sticking with calories in and out til I get to my goal!

Are you finished? Nope, I still have 9 pounds to go!

How long did it take?  In total it took me 2 years.

how much have you lost? 60 lbs (down from 235 to 175)

is this the 1st time or a repeat performance? 1st time I've been so sensible about it - no drugs or crash diets (OK, except for the first 25 lbs, see below)

are you finished? No, I want to lose 40 more lbs but would be happy with 30 more.

how long did it take? 18 months, but there was a six-month break from last May-October, when I gained back six pounds that I lost again in December.

how long have you kept it off? Still working on losing it.

what approach did you use? The first 25 lbs was a liquid diet, then I couldn't take it anymore, went off track (the break) and then started counting calories, really using calorie count, and got back going in the right direction.   Also, exercise about 5X/week, including both cardio at the gym and hot yoga classes.

how much have you lost? 44 lbs

is this the 1st time or a repeat performance? First time

how long did it take? 6 months

how long have you kept it off? N/A

what approach did you use? Calorie Counting and more exercise

How much have you lost?

I am 5'6". Weighed 190lb, now weigh 151lb. Lost 40lbs

Is this the first time of repeat perofrmance?

Lost the first 20lb v.quckly - in 2005. Then had major plateau. Just lost another 14lb. At lowest weight EVER!

Are you finished?

Wouldnt be the end of the world for me, but would LOVE to loose another 10-14lb.

How long did it take?

Started in Summer 2005. Stopping and starting, losing 20lb, stayed there for a while, regained 9lb then lost 9lb. Losing and gaining same 9lb! Finally settled at 164, then just lost another 14lb over period of 3 months.

How long have you kept it off?

Um, well the last 14lb has been off for only a few weeks, but started losing again in summer 08. havent regained any of it. (yet).

What approach?

Ate 1100 cals for the most part, then exercised off and on. If i had a bad day i would exercise ALOT more than i used to to stop it from creeping it on. if i got lazy with calories i would pull back again.

GOOD LUCK to anyone just starting out. just keep on plowing through! xxx
