I've just got back into working out after a really, long hiatus. I have started slow, working out with a very good friend about 3 days a week with around 40 minutes of cardio. I haven't added strength training yet. What is the best way to start noticing results. I haven't noticed any significant losses yet. I am trying to stay between 1700-1900 calories a day. Thanks!

Adding strength training will significantly help you out. I would focus on building muscle to raise your basal metabolism and consistantly burn more calories.
How many weeks have you been on your current regimen? Is it possible you are losing fat and gaining some muscle from your cardio? Have your measurements changed at all?
