Weight lost vs Inches lost
I've lost 16lbs so far, but only 5 inches off my body. I feel like 16lbs is a lot of weight...I've never lost that much weight before in my life. I don't feel like I've lost that much weight though. I don't feel like my clothes are fitting me any differently...the only difference I've noticed is that my bra is a little too big now. I still have a ton of belly fat....I thought that by now my stomach wouldn't be so big and I'd be comfortable in tighter fitting clothes.
My question is...am I on the right track? Is 5 inches reasonable for that much weight lost?
It appears to me that you're on the right track, and although you don't mention your height in your profile, you sound as if you are currently in a healthy weight range.
Five inches and 16 pounds is great! As for losing in the chest area and not the tummy.... welcome to the wonderful world of being a woman!!! Unfortunately it's very common for many of us to lose chest mass before we start to see signs of belly fat disappearing.
Are you doing any kind of exercises to help tone your body? Toning will go a long way for someone who is close to goal weight.
5 inches is quite a bit really. It all depends on your starting weight and genetics of course.
I mean, someone who is 175 and loses 16 lbs will not have the same inches lost as a smaller person.
However, having said that I was just lamenting my own shape this am. I have lost 17 lbs to date, 5 inches off my hips and 4 off my waist. I have dropped one pant size. But only just.
We just have to be patient. The fat IS coming off no doubt about that. So hang in there.
I'm 5'2" and I started at 160. Thanks for your input!
