Can you weight more than the scale tells you you do?

Crazy question here but we all know with water retention or if you have not gone to the bathroom for awhile you may weight a bit more on the scale than you do in reality.........can the converse be true?

 

Can you weight in and show up as less on the scale than you really weight?

 

I think I showed two lbs weight loss from yesterday and I pigged out deosn't make sense hoping just dehydrated or something weird like that I was gaining consistently.

I do not have the answer to this question, but I am extremely curious to hear others thoughts on this issue because I think the same thing is happening to me. I was gaining consistently, just like you. Each day I was gaining a little bit more and a little bit more. I worked hard for these 3 lbs or so I just gained, and to go to the scale yesterday and see they have just vanished really frustrates me. I have been eating amazingly well, too. Especially yesterday. I thought forsure I would have gained. Now, I have not weighed myself to see if it has gone up (because sometimes I go down, then shoot up a good few pounds), but I am kind of too nervous to do so, at the moment. I really hope someone comes along soon to answer this question because situations like these are really discouraging sometimes! Good luck.

Whatever you weigh on the scale is reality; but that reflects only a moment in time. Our weights are always fluctuating.

You can't weigh less than the scale says. You might only weigh that much because of water retention or constipation, for example, and that weight might be temporary, but you don't weigh any less at that moment in time.

Conversely, you might weigh less temporarily because of dehydration (epecially if you were drinking) but that is your weight at that time.
