Hi,

I'm currently 145ish and my thighs don't touch now, but I'm sure they did when I was around 155...

Toning and strengthening definately helped!

Stopped touching at around 208lbs here.

It all depends on how tall you are and what your build is... 'touching' or 'not-touching' is a very poor measurement of weightloss success/failure because everyone is built differently.

I am 168cm tall, or 5'6", and my thighs stop touching when I'm around 48.5kg,( 106.7lb) mind you, according to the stupid theory of BMI, that's underweight apparently.

However, kajikit has a point, it really does depend on how tall you are and what your build is. Really. If you have narrow hips for example, I severely doubt your legs will ever not touch. Just bad luck for some shaped like so.. also being a woman, the oestrogen flowing through one's veins will tell the body to store fat around the legs and hips and bum in general...

i dont quite understand- how do you know if your thighs are touching? in other words how far apart do you have your feet?  normal hips width? i think if your feet are together your thighs will always touch?

Diana>> I am 6`2 and 198lbs. My thighs are about 18” circ and when my feet are together they do not touch. There is a gap of around ½”

That was the first wake up sign to me that I'd gained weight, was when I realized that my thighs were touching- what an awful feeling!! I'm 5'6" and they definitely don't touch when I'm at 115 (I'm 120 right now but got up to 126). With the right jeans I can have them not touching now ;)

I imagine some people's thighs will always touch, due to the way they are built.

At 5' 3 1/2" mine stopped touching when I hit 122 lbs., down from 129. But I have been lifting weights for a very long time, so my legs are very muscular. That contributed to the size, and thus the fact that they touched.

For a woman, when you are wearing a skirt and you walk normally, you get a terrible burn or rash on your thighs.  That's when you know you have thunder thighs.  I can't WAIT to get rid of them!!  But some muscular men get them too.  When my husband rode his bike to work (and for fun) he built up his legs and then got rashes from his jeans.  It actually wore out his leg hair.

I'm just getting to the point where my thighs aren't *rubbing* so much.  I'm sure they'll always touch - it's the figure I've got, and I don't mind it.  But the huge rubbing thing is going away, which I'm glad for :)  Maybe my pants will last longer.  Heck, maybe I'll even be comfortable in a skirt or a dress!

But I don't think there's a "magic weight" for it.  I agree it wholly depends on build and body type.

Im just waiting for that sweet day when mine stop touching. They are currently invading eat others privacyUndecided

I have to agree with those who say that it depends on your build. My thighs always touch; that's just the way my body is. Even when I was 103 lb at 5'3" my thighs touched, so it's no indicator of whether or not you're overweight.

mine touched even when i was on the side of almost too thin.... years ago.....

Mine too.  When I was 120lbs, they touched.  I always found it awkward looking for them not to touch.

I'm 110 and my thighs still touch. I'm built like every other women in my family and we have thighs..so mine will probably always touch no matter what. I would not use this as a measurement for success.

Erm...my thighs have always touched, since about 2 years before I hit puberty (I'm female). It's pretty pointless to use that as a measurement of being "fat." I think that I'd have to be frighteningly skinny to have them not touch.

My thighs touched when I was way underweight. What is the fascination with this silly benchmark of perceived thinness anyway?

5'4 & 115 lbs .. they still touch :[

I agree it's silly, spirochete, but I was thrilled recently when mine didn't touch anymore, even though I knew it was stupid and know teeny skinny girls without a space between their thighs.

I think it's because as a child my mom used to complain about her 'thunder thighs' so I internalized the whole 'thin thighs are good' thing, and also I remember reading in a Seventeen magazine when I was 11 or so that said the 'ideal' legs formed three diamonds, one between your thighs, one between knees and calves and one between calves and ankles.... stupid stuff from when we were kids sticking even when we know it's stupid....

I used to be 117lbs at 5'7" and I looked HORRENDOUS (with touching thighs by the way). Because I'm thinking about it, here's a MS Paint rendition of me during that time.

ENJOY.
