Ok, girls I have a question...How is it possible to weigh 180 at 9 in the morning, 177 by 3:00, then 178 by 9 at night?  I have heard of water weight but I dont' drink that much.  This is crazy!  I don't know what to log in for my daily weight.  I guess I could go with the one in the morning since that is usually the time I weigh.  What do you think this loss and gain is?

the weight gain can be water weight as well as the weight from the food and drinks you consumed throughout the day. your body actually retains more water if you drink less of it, or so i've heard. also, if you worked out and sweat out some of that water weight, that could have an effect also.
It's due to natural causes.  All sorts of things affect your weight, and a bunch of those things you ain't in control of, so why are you weighing yourself three times in a day?  That doesn't make much sense to me and seems to only lead down the path to brain damage.  Weigh less frequently, focus on long-term trends, and stay steady with your healthy eating habits.

Why step on the scale all of those times when you could be doing something else much more enjoyable?  You only get 70-80 trips around the Sun if you're lucky, so use them wisely!

Hang in there.
advice: dont weight urself 3 X's a day! its just never perfectly accurate, and afterall, it IS just a number.. its how u feel and look that really matter.... i weigh myself monday morning before i do anything... thats the only time i record my weight and although i step on the scale (bad habit) several times throughout the week, i never record any losses or gains, because its just crazy to be doin that! i say relax about the number, work on feeling good and lossing lbs. in the process, but not stressing over the number itself... good luck!
When I purchased my Tanita body fat scale, the enclosed brochure said that the best time to weigh yourself daily is just before your evening meal.  Your lunch is digested, you're awake and active, but you've not yet eaten dinner.

You should weigh yourself no more than once daily, and do so at the same time each day.  Don't worry about those freaky daily fluctuations.  It's long term downward trends we're looking for.

I weigh myself every morning. I have noticed my weight will change from day to day +/- .5 sometimes more. Dont worry about it, it is probably water weight.
Yah ive also noticed that while i weigh myself daily each day seems to be different. like itll go up to 118 pounds one morning and the next morning im back down to 115 and the next day itll be like 116. Anybody know what thats all about? :S

I noticed my daily weight fluctuaions can be 4 lbs!

So I just weigh myself around the same time every day.
Pick one time a day to weight yourself and do it every day.  I prefer when I get up just after using the bathroom.
