Why is my weight up?

Quote  |  Reply

Since everyone is saying that 2100 calories does NOT count as a binge, does anyone want to volunteer the reason why my weight went up 3 pounds in a day and is not coming back down. I was 138 on Saturday at noon, from Sunday til now it is at 140. I did not gain any weight, but I'm up anyways.

Its very discouraging to me since I am going to be going on vacation and 138 was my goal number for that trip.

A good book told me once "When the circumstances are right, things manifest".

So the circumstances for you weighing 138 right now are not right. Mm.. let's see..

Perhaps you ate too much salt recently.

Perhaps you're bloating.

Did you use a different scale? (That sometimes gives different numbers.)

Perhaps you stood on your scale unevenly.

Perhaps you gained some muscle recently.

Perhaps you're growing right now. (And perhaps it's in places that you won't see !)

Perhaps your period is on the way. (If you're female.. I didn't really check your profile so if you're not, my apologies! @_@)

I'm not very good at finding out why, and I understand how frustrating it is for you to just suddenly jump up to a number and now go back down instantly. But don't worry, if you got there once, you can do it again. Just stay on your diet and exercise regime, and you'll be fine. As well, hopefully you'll be down to 138 in no time! I know you want to know why you're back to 140, but it's really hard to tell. I'm sorry. :(

Hang in there, okie?

i agree with all reasons that kaybug posted.

there is no way you gained actual fat. i'm pretty much the same height as you and i maintain on 2000. so you seriously have no need to worry :)

i do not have an exact answer but just wanted to say that fluctuations happen. i had many a a similar experience-just today i "gained" 3 lbs - had about  1700 cals yesterday. i think the reason was too much sodium AND eating at midnight ie half an hour before going to sleep. whatever it was, i am determined to keep losing:)
