Weight going up the scale~
I don't understand. I am so much more cautious about what i am eating more than i was last year anyway....I don't hit the fast food places like I used too. I used to eat Mc Donalds at least 2 times a week. Now, i can't remember when i was there. I used to not worry so much or watch my "calories" and weighed 15 lbs less.
What happened? Now that i am more concerned, stop hitting the fast food joints and using this site to count my calories and log my eating habits...it seems that i am gaining lbs. I have gained 15 lbs...so far. I know i should exercise more, but i didn't before either. I really didn't go out of my way to do so. Now, i am a worry wart and counting all my activities if any.
Why is this happening? Makes me want to go back to careless...it was working better. For someone who gained 15lbs, you would think i need a whole new wardrobe. Sure my clothes are not as loose as before, but they fit fine. I don't get it, i really don't. It is so discouraging!![]()
Omigoodness.. I feel your pain. For the 1st 2 weeks I lost almost 5 lbs immediately, then I had one day where I ate some cake (just 2 small pieces) and the weight scale showed that I almost undid everything I lost. Mind you, I exercise almost everyday by running somewhere between 4 - 6 miles. The scale can be very frustrating, so I would suggest this. Measure yourself by your favorite pants (when you were 15 lbs lighter). Losing fat and gaining muscle can add the weight but slim you down because muscle is leaner and weighs more than fat.
I'm wearing my favorite "skinny" jeans today very comfortably and about 6 weeks ago at the same weight, there was no way I would even wear them out of the bedroom.
One other thing to watch out for is the amount of carbs and "fake sugars" you are eating. Ensure you have tons of fibre in your diet thru vegetables and fruits and whole grains and drink plenty of water. Water is key.
The scale can be so discouraging.. use your measurements and the mirror and your favorite "skinny" clothes to be the judge. Exercise 4 - 6 days a week. Even just a very brisk walk for 45 minutes to 1 hour has huge benefits both cardio and fat burning.
Let me know how you do. Eating healthy is the RIGHT thing to do. Fast food is pure junk and it affects your organs (gall bladder, pancreas, heart).
Good Luck.
I agree with Sonny. I have made the decision to only weigh myself once a month..possibly every six weeks because my weight keeps going up. However, I can see by looking in the mirror that I am trimmer than I was 4 weeks ago. My goal is to drop a size by my 31st birthday in March. That way, I can concentrate on changing my shape, and not losing weight. I guess I know in the back of my head that I am gaining muscle, but seeing a higher number discouraged me.
Just don't give up. Keep exercising and counting your calories. Eventually your body will cooperate with you.
