I saw a bunch of people selling the books on eBay.
Keeps you from having to pay the weekly fees!

Hey, I did Weight Watchers online for a while and it was only $16.95/month. You get access to all the points tools but I think you have to pay if you want to actually go to a meeting in person.
I am doing WW and it is working well for me. I find it easier to count points rather than calories, but it is pricey. Around $40.00 per month. I will keep my membership for the first 50 pounds then I will probably go it alone due to the price. You can go to the first meeting for around $12.00 and get the book and points slider. That was my intention but I enjoy the meetings and they give me more accountability than going it alone.
Good luck!
Good luck!
My father's an old Weight Watchers pro. I think he's on it for his second, if not third time. Oh wait, perhaps that's not a good thing. :D
Anyhow, my father does lose weight when he sticks to the system and he feels a higher level of commitment due to having to pay for it.
I prefer counting calories, since I like numbers, most likely. I think weight watchers' point system allows the less-number-aligned people get on track (probably the majority).

i lost two pounds the first week, nothing the second and quit after. the meetings are supposed to motivate you, but you have to find the motivation in yourself to lose weight lol. that sounds stupid, but it's true. when i was on the diet, i wasn't that desperate about losing weight, but after i quit, i REALLY wanted to lose, so it did it on my own and i've been pretty successful in terms of weight coming off, except that i developed an ed. lolz
I belonged to WW and really liked it. I tried both their Flex Points and the Core formats. Loved the Core... you could eat a wide variety of foods with out weighing or writing down size, quanities, or calories. Then any foods not on the "Core List" came out of your 25 flex points for the day.
I liked the YOU diet better and can see me doing it as more of a lifestyle change although weight watchers taught me some very good habits which stopped me from gaining all the weight back that I had lost while going to them. I was able to stay more into a range. I'm hoping that the YOU habits will keep my range smaller yet.
