Weight Watchers products
Anyone here use them?
I just saw the local grocery store here carries WW bread, soup, main dishes, baked beans... all seem to be very low cal compared to the brand next to them.
I'm very temped to buy them - feel like I could eat more of the things I love without feeling like I'm cheating. Like Cauliflower Cheese side dish (250g) that is only 113cal. Seems pretty good to me. And the bread is only 46cal/slice.
TIA.
The WW bread I bought is 90 a slice! I feel ripped off!
Like I just said, I'm trying the bread, and I've tried the portioned chocolate cake which is good to help you behave at birthday parties and such. I'm not crazy for their products, but it helps if I'm high on my calories and hungry or jsut want to enjoy something that's normally a 'no'.
To sum up, I eat WW products occassionally as a treat. I prefer cracked rye bread and flavoured tofu desserts for the superior nutritional value. :)
I sometimes buy the WW ready meals. I keep them in the freezer for those times when the rest of the family is eating food that doesn't fit into my diet or that I can't adapt to it. They're pretty tasty.
The bread's okay, though I think most of the reason that it's so low-cal is because the slices are half the size of other bread!

Thats why I like the bread - cause you can have a sandwich and stay under 150 cals and your not full. Love it!
I use the WW Multigrain bread. It is only 100 calories for 2 slices.
The yoghurts are fantastic, especially when they go on sale at half price lol. Never thought I would like prune yoghurt! Also, once I saw some dessert flavoured yoghurts, at like 60 cals each, such as apple crumble, raspberry tart, etc that actually had bits of crumb in them. YUM! But for some odd reason I've never seen them in the store since then...
As for frozen dinners, I think Lean Cuisine beats WW on price, protein content and calories, although you do have to read the nutrition info as it varies widely between different dishes. Just my two cents here though.
i like there mini carrot cakes, chocolate candies, and english muffins. Yum~ : )
I eat the frozen entrees from time to time, and I really like the 50 cal string cheese, but I haven't tried much else.
After doing some label shopping, it seemed to me like WW was basically just selling their name. There's some stuff out there that's surprisingly low cal if you look for it. You mentioned bread. I eat Nature's Own Whole Grain bread, and it's sugar free and only 50 calories for a nice normal-sized slice. But yeah, the entrees are great if I'm exhausted, and I imagine the desserts are pretty tasty and effective at teaching portion control.
I feel that the serving sizes are much too small, and you could make something a lot healthier yourself. Plus the products are very expensive.
Sorry, I just think that they're a huge gimmick, and like the previous commenter said, you could get something much healthier for much cheaper, without all the processed, artificial crap.
Well dang you all for ruining my party. LOL! I thought I had a good find there....
Oh well - I haven't been able to find another bread over here (I live in the UK) that is 50cal/slice. Will keep looking tho.
If you live in the UK you should def try the weight watchers macaroni and cheese ready meal. it's only 320 calories for 400 grams and I actually think it's really good! It's definitely miles better than any other "diet" mac and cheese I've tried (like sainsburys be good to yourself), for example, and it's also lower in calories than many other diet options.
It's white pasta, so it's not the best thing in the world for you but it keeps me full in the evening, and the best thing for me is that it's portion controlled. I can keep eating pasta til the cows come home (and then when they do finally come home they look worrying like me!) so portion control is very important for me.

I would advise folks who use the WW bread/english muffins, etc. to check labels in the bread aisle at the supermarket. I found a store brand, "light" Italian bread that is like 70 or 80 calories for two slices and HAS FLAVOR. I have found "light" english muffins that have more fiber than the WW brand and also have flavor.
I admit that I have enjoyed the Chocolate and Lemon cakes as well, but, the quality of the product is "iffy". Yeah, they are individually wrapped, and so should be fresh and consistent.... but I found some where the frosting has slid off the cake, or stuck to the wrapper, or is so hard it's like cardboard.
The frozen WW entrees seem to taste pretty good, but the sodium is usually quite high. Someone else here likes Lean Cuisine better for price and protein content, etc. I think WW and LC are close in those things, but the LC is more flavorful (in my humble opinion.) They make an awsome selection of single serving pizzas that really hit the spot if you have that craving. I don't think the small selection of WW ones is all that tasty.
If you're just looking for low calorie meals, I think if you spend some time checking labels on a variety of things, you'll find things many selections that are less expensive, better nutritionally, and more satisfying. Progresso, for instance, has a new line of zero or one point (WW Points) soups that are very tasty, and calorie wise, under 100 calories a serving. (So if you eat the whole can, which is roughly two servings, you get a quite satisfying "meal" for very low calories.) Do check the labels though, some of their soups that say, "99% fat free" have nearly double that in calories per serving. Still low, still satisfying, but maybe more calories than you wanted to 'spend' on soup. Other Progresso soups don't say anything in particular on their front lable, but are naturally low calorie, high fiber. (Lentil soup is fairly high fiber and they have a 99% fat free version as well.)
So, as much as many of us don't want to hear it, READ THE LABELS. Sure, sometimes you'll be shocked and think "wow, I didn't think that had this many calories" and sometimes you will be pleasantly surprised. I talked about soup, but yogurt is another product mentioned by some here. Again, check out different brands and read the labels, you might be surprised at what's on sale that has the same fat/calorie content as WW's brand.... chance are it has a better selection of flavors as well

Check out the serving size Viyahn, I'm pretty sure that all WW breads are 2 slices per serving...hope yours is too!
I love the chicken and lemon risotto!! So yummy and doesn't make me feel like i am eating diet food.
Mialondon- I agree. i have tried lots of the supermarkets own brands too and i find that WW is better and lower than most- especially Tescos version. Although you can't beat Marks and Spencer's and there low fat brand. Yummy. :-)
I also love WW chocolate brownie dessert and their cheesecake. And put it this way my boyf (whose not on a diet) likes them and will eat them too.
I think the cakes and some products are good have to read the ingrediants and nutritional information as I discovered the other day sometimes its better to just be naughty!
I was look for a lemon meringue pie substitute and compaired the WW to a normal pie and there was a difference of only 20cals and the WW one had loads more unnatural ingrediants that I wouldn't want to eat!
Will I lose weight if I eat the same food over and over?
You can lose weight despite eating the same food day-after-day as long as you eat fewer calories than you burn. In fact, eating the... Read more
