THE WEIGHTLOSS CHALLENGE - Week 3


Welcome teams to WEEK 3 (June 4th - June 10th) of The Weightloss Challenge.

*Since we did have a good handful of people drop out/removed in Teams 2 and 3, I have given curve points to equal their points to 240 points.  This will be the only time curve points will be given out.  I gave these points to try and make the competition more fair since we now have the adequate amount of members for each team. 

Teams please remember that it is important to post the challenges since this is where most of the points are accumulated.  You can post the challenge results anytime up until the day before the week's results (Tuesday).  Just be sure to label each day properly.*

starbeam22, jenniferelyse74, caillers, someday-i-will, amyb3517, mandylw, ciosa1020 all met or exceeded their weightloss goal and earned 7 bonus points for their team.

Team 2:   16.1 Pounds (16.1 Points)

gabco, starrfy, diana2356, momofpixies, krisaim all met or exceeded their weightloss goal and earned 5 bonus points for their team.

Team 3:  11.3 Pounds (11.3 Points)

BMI's-  Since there were new members and the BMIs changed drastically for all teams, there was no bonus points awarded for the BMIs this week.

So if you have one serving from each group, you get 1.5 points, or are you supposed to eat the recommended amount of servings for each .25 points?
The recommended servings for each person varies so it would be too difficult to regulate it that way.

This challenge is just to encourage everyone to eat from all food groups to promote healthier eating. 

I know the last food group of sweets, fats, etc. is not exactly the healthiest but it is a part of what we eat as long as we eat it sparingly.  So, not to discriminate against a food group... Yes, you can earn 1/4 a point for it as well.  Just don't eat but a small serving a day :)
If anyone has any concerns about this challenge being too "easy" and not helping encourage healthy eating... Please PM me and express your concerns.  If the challenge needs to be changed, I need to know by the end of today.  Thanks :)
Actually I think these challenges rock! You are so creative, i'm in awe of how different yet helpful each challenge is. Thanks for putting all of this together undertherainbow!!
Thanks.  I know that some are going to think that this challenge is fairly easy and for the most part, yes it is.  But I know there are a lot of people out there that do not eat every single of the food group (me included) and this is just a good encouragement to do so :)

If anyone has an idea for a challenge that they would like to suggest, please private message it to me. 

I don't want to spoil any challenges for the weeks to come but there will also be a water and sleep challenge since the two are both necessary for a healthy lifestyle.

i know this looks horrible i really don't mean to be sabottaging the team's efforts.... just can't control my eating at times, like this week, i was fighting with my bf, so wed, thu, sat were just one huge binges for me... sorry, i swear i will try harder to eat less this week and maybe the scale will finally show something.... and congrats to ppl who did great last week and this week!

(undertherainbow, I'm not sure if I put this in correctly. I lost 1.8 pounds this week - my goal was 2.0 loss.  I lost more than I intended last week, so this LOOKS like I should have met my goal this week, but I didn't. ...did I do it right? For weight lost, are you using our total lost from the beginning, or loss EACH week?  If you're using each week, it would be easier for you if we'd show what we lost each week.)
I have it all in a spreadsheet... but you are more than welcome to post how much you lose each week as well :) 

I do it by the week... And I give the *bonus point* to those that meet their weight goal or exceed it.

If you want, I can add the weight loss for each week on the stats... just let me know!

Now I am off to get my glass of OJ + Calcium from the fridge :)
