CHALLENGE 9: POWER ROUND - REMAKE OF WEEKS 1-4
This challenge we are going to revisit Weeks 1-4 challenges.
I know that this seems like a lot but you do not have to participate in each part of this challenges but can choose which ones work best for you this week. However, this is a great chance to earn points for your team if you would like to participate in all parts of the challenge. Remember, you can post your results the same day, next day, or even at the end of the week. Just be sure to label each day specifically and the specific part (1-4) of the challenge so that I know which it applies to.
PART 1: NET CALORIE INTAKE GOAL
Each morning, post what your calorie intake goal of the day is and track your calories for each food/drink item throughout the day. Total up your calories the next morning and post them. On the same post, be sure to post your new goal for that day.
Calories Consumed - Calories Burned = Net Calorie Intake
Each person that stays within a 100 calories of their goal earns .5 point for their team.
PART 2: EXERCISE CHALLENGE
For every 100 calories burned, you earn .25 point for your team. This must be in exercise that does not involve your normal day activites such as work. Please label each day's workout and calories burned for each activity.
PART 3: FOOD PYRAMID CHALLENGE
For every Food Group you eat from, you earn .25 point for your team. Please post the food you consumed from each food group to earn the 1/4 point. Please try and make it at least 1 serving of each food group with the exception of fats, oils, & sweets.
THE FOOD GROUP:
Breads and Grains (6-11 servings)
Vegetables (3-5 servings)
Fruits (2-4 servings)
Dairy (2-3 servings)
Proteins (2-3 servings)
Fats, Oils, & Sweets (Use sparingly)
PART 4: SODIUM/WATER CHALLENGE
This challenge is actually two challenges.
SODIUM CHALLENGE: According to the Mayo Clinic the recommended sodium intake is between 1500 and 2400 milligrams (mg) a day for healthy adults. Each day your sodium level is 2400mg or below, you earn .5 point for your team.
WATER CHALLENGE: According to the Mayo Clinic the recommended water intake for men is 3.0 liters (13 cups) and women is 2.2 liters (9 cups). Each day you consume 72 fluid ounces (9 cups) of water or more, you earn your team .5 point. (Note: "Water" can also consist of flavored water, water mixed with crystal light or other flavors, or tea)
Please label each post with what day you are posting about with your sodium and water intake.

Alright guys, please no one panic... You do not have to participate in each parts of the challenges. Pick what works best for you and concentrate on those. :)
If you are up to participating in ALL four parts then GREAT! Remember there are only two weeks left in the challenge and the more points for your team the better chance of winning.

Wow!!! This is huge!!! Great challenge, though. I think it's very appropriate.
Hey, just wanted to let everyone know I'll post all my stuff for this week next Monday because I'm gone backpacking and camping all week (except one treat night on Thursday at a nice hotel woo hoo). Good luck all!
