weird characters
sometimes, out of nowhere, my keyboard goes crazy and i can`t do proper apostrophes, quotation marks, and question marks.
for instance, this is a question mark: É
this has only happened since i got my new laptop, with vista, but it doesn`t always happen. does anyone know what`s going on with thatÉ
Maybe your keyboard language setting is off. There probably is some kind of keyboard out there with that character in the same place as your question mark, and your setting seems to change to it at times (maybe you're clikcin on some keys that act as a shortcut to it, or a program you open changes it?).
On the bottom right of the screen, is there a language bar? If you have an american keyboard, it should say EN. If not, you should be able to change it. If you dont see the language bar, then right click and go to toolbars and you can add it.
Hope this helps =]
sorry, double post
Generally that e requires an ASCII code, even with Vista. Have you googled the problem?
My god daughter recently bought a new lap top. It has a french keyboard with accent keys.s like your keyboard is en français.
Check for a light on with a square around the letters "fn" .. Sometimes this gets me when I am trying to log in to the computer and also when typing. You might have toggled it without knowing. Try crtl+ "fn" and see if the light goes off. Not sure if this is your problem or not ^^"
happens to me too!!! i dont know what it is. i just close the browser and re-open it and its fixed...
try this- seems to have worked for me:
Go to Control Panel
> Regional and Language Options > Keyboards and
languages tab > Change Keyboards button, and remove ALL Canadian keyboards
except for 'English (Canada)'..
