Weird comfort or diet foods

Quote  |  Reply

I have a whole list of weird things that I love to do with yogurt. Anyone else have weird snacks?

yogurt on warm tortillas, carrots dipped in yogurt, yogurt instead of milk on cereal (the cereal is dominant, so it's not like a parfait), etc.

My comfort food is instant pudding with marshmallows dipped in it - its a little juvenile but I suffered from terrible week long migraines as a child and its what my mother would make me - even as a university student when I am home and get one - the first thing she does is make pudding - I enjoy it as a general comfort food now

i have a number of comfort foods. above all is greek yogurt. i eat this sooo many ways, but when i want it for the sake of having a comfort food, it's always with either vanilla and sugar or cinnamon and sugar, and either frozen strawberries or peaches. always.

cereal is also a comfort food. i eat all kinds of cereal all the time, but "comfort" cereal is either fiber one with chocolate milk, frozen peaches, and sugar, or cheerios, milk, and blueberries.

also just fruit in general. after a really stressful day i'll have a ton of fruit. frozen fruit in yogurt or cottage cheese, inside crepes, hot with pancakes or french toast, in cereal, or just on it's own.

yogurt on warm tortillas

I thought I was the only one! I mix greek yogurt with unsweetened cocoa and a packet of stevia then put it in to LaTortilla factory tortilla. I also like to slice in frozen strawberries and mix them in.

UD

alphabet noodles with american cheese melted on them and milk mixed in.

I love Greek yogurt.  Just signed on to get some more ideas.  yummy

I like mixing peanuts or other nuts in mine,  also adding diced cucumbers and a little cracked pepper. That's my favorite lunch.

Yogurt is not only a gastronomic comfort food for me but also a mental one.  My (Syrian) father always made yogurt.  I can remember watching for it to cure and the wonderful tangy taste.  I ate it almost every day and still love it.  I have not made my own yet - but am thinking about getting a yogurt maker.  Anyone have one?

I like plain yoghurt with muesli on top - I start my day like that every day. Bananas, pumpkin and apples are also strangely comforting.

Glamgram - I have a yoghurt maker! They are brilliant and I'd definately reccomend you get one of you eat lots of yoghurt. It's really easy and not expensive after you've bought the starter kit!

My odd comfort foods are: apples and carrots, lol. I eat them every single day. I just love them!

Also oxtail soup, and cuppa soup... strangely good.

And this is very odd, but I like eating those effervescent vitamin C tablets as they are, without dissolving them! I know, weird... but they're so tangy and fizzy! Obvs have to be careful you don't have more than 1-2 a day or it'll overload you on vit C... lol.

My comfort foods are oatmeal, cream of wheat and shredded wheat when its hot. Usually with peanut butter, cocoa powder, apples, cinnamon, raisins, or some combo. Shredded wheat usually has peanut butter only, i did it with cocoa powder twice, and i like it with peanut butter better.

My other is pizza, havent had it in a LONG time though

I have a couple comfort foods. All of them are pretty rich, winter foods. There's chili, chicken curry (which is prepared a lot like chili actually), beef stew, homemade chocolate chip cookies (I swear, every time I eat one, I totally flashback to my childhood. Kinda makes me feel down sometimes Cry ), and my mom's super rich mocha mousse.

Here are my comfort foods:

oatmeal w/ peanutbutter and raisins mixed in

honey crisp apples dipped in peanut butter

strawberries dipped in nutella

sweet potatoes with brown sugar

homeade granola bars warmed up in the microwave

A few that came to mind:

- Lipton Chicken Noodle soup with LOTS of crackers (the last time I ate this stuff I think I retained 5 pounds of water for like 2 weeks)

- German potato salad (or anything homemade and german for that matter)

- Ice cream (any kind will do really)

* Cabbage + Mustard, Olive Tapenade, Ketchup & Clams

* Nori Sheets + Any Thing & Everything

* Unagi

* Salmon Baked with Clam Sauce

* Hamachi Kama

* Escolar

* Flaxseed Oil (it's so good!! and reminds me of my Mommy!!)

* Spaghetti Squash with tons of olive oil

Ultimate comfort food- eggy bread (french toast?) spread with marmite. Mmm, childhood.

I also love oatmeal with crunchy PB and raisins!

My comfort food is tuna sandwiches. Yummy chunk light tuna mixed with mustard and garlic and stuffed inside a pita pocket.

My comfort food is tunafish with mayo and maybe pickles on egos. Everyone I know (except my sister who used to do it too) says it sounds gross, but I love it. With a cool diet sunkist.

Chicken and mashed potatoes on a waffle, all covered with gravy...mmm... A lot of people i went to school with had never heard of doing this and thought i was insane. oh well, maybe its just a Pennsylvania thing :)
