really weird, finally broke my plateau after months of not losing
this is really weird i have been on cc for over a year now and when i first started the weight was flying off then ever since last christmas it like really slowed down. I tried exercising more and cutting back from 1450 to 1200, my body refused to lose those last ten pounds. then i tried zig zagging, sorry guys but that didn't work either, then i read about upping your calories to maintenace for about ten days or so, most ppl think they are sededenty, when they really are light activity, so i upped them to 1750 cals a day, i have been on 1750 since wednesday and i have already lost a pound, the scale is finally moving for the first time in months, and i can't beleive it, it doesn't make any sence , to eat more to lose more. any body else experince this, if you are in this rut you may want to try upping your cals too, it seems like a really bad thing to do but it works
I seem to lose and find the same three pounds. Some have told me to up my intake fomr 1500 to around 1800 because of the amount I exercise, but I'm scared of gaining... I'm glad it's worked for you!
thats were i was was around 1500 cals and i wasn't losing
Upping your cals does work, but remember to take them down again after a couple weeks. I've done all sorts of manipulation to lose weights.
Upping cals worked, and then I plateaued there too. But it works! It's just a little kick to trick your body from adjusting to changes.
I LOVE changing up my workouts. I go months with no weight-loss, but I've lost inches...and that's more important to me than the number on the scale. I feel stronger and I have more endurance. And looking hotter everyday! :)
You look like you are at a healthy weight so it is MUCH harder to lose more (I'm in the same boat). After upping the cals, focus on workouts and strength training. That will really help tone you and you wont have to worry about weight as much. You look great!
i've been on a plateau for months now! i eat like around 1600 (give or take) everyday and also exercise about 15 mins of pilates and a mile and a half run... am i eating too little?? i feel like i've lost inches, but these lbs. are not coming off. any advice?

You should try changing your workout. Also, if you don't know for sure if you've lost inches or not, buy a tape measurer and find out.
I'm with you on the whole "upping the calories" thing...I too hit a plateau (very early on: joined CC, lost a few lbs, then stopped for about two weeks)...I went back to my archived daily journals for the entire time I was here & found that if I only ate 1100-1200 cals per day, I lost nothing. If I ate 1300-1500 cals per day, I lost 1-2 lbs per week! (My daily allowance is actually 1600, but I have a hard time fitting all those calories into my daily routine, believe it or not.)
I have since been keeping it at about 1300-1400, give or take, with an occasional low-or-high intake day thrown in at random ~ and from the 5-6 lbs I lost early on, I can now happily report that I have lost 18 lbs so far!
My only real workout is 30-35 mins @ the treadmill, interactive @ 2 miles per hour, and then housework or w/e the rest of the day...but it seems to be working just fine.
I would like to add weights & a stationary bike at some point, just to change it up a bit, but that will probably come later.
It is funny, isn't it, how adding more food actually moves the metabolism along? But I say, whatever works, keep it up! I never would have believed it myself, either...but I can definitely say that this is one diet I will be able to stick with for the rest of my life! I hope you enjoy success in yours as well...
