OK, weird food time question!!!!

Quote  |  Reply

Would you eat breakfast after whenever you sleep, or the next morning?

I ask this question because sometimes I stay up all night (yes, I know it's not good for me) and I was wondering when morning hits if I eat breakfast would those calories still count as that previous day? Like biologically how does that work out? Does it really matter?

Doesn't matter.  Count it as whatever day you wish.

Eat when you are hungry, about every 2-3 hours.  It's easiest to count the calories from wake up to sleep.

Other than that, I don't think it matters.

I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, so my sleep patterns are allllll screwed up!  I tend to stay up all night and sleep most of the day.  Many years ago, they used to say, "Never eat after eight at night".  Well, 8:00 PM is MY afternoon!  So I count my calories here on CC from midnight to midnight...and I eat my "breakfast" when I wake up...usually about 3:00-4:00 PM.  And I haven't noticed any difference in "how" I lose weight.  Just figure your total calories in a 24-hour period, no matter WHEN you eat.  I do, however, try to eat some protein a couple of hours before I go to sleep, since I heard on The Doctors TV show that you make most of your growth hormone (which helps you lose weight) while you're sleeping...and that you "need" low blood sugar in order to create that growth hormone.  Hence, I try not to eat carbs before I go to sleep...whenever that is.
