I think "weird" is not the right label...UNHEALTHY is dead on.

yuyu, go to "tools" and then "burn meter". Put in your stats and figure out what you burn on a daily basis.  If you are trying to lose weight, you want to eat 500-900 cals below what you burn, BUT NEVER LESS THEN 1200.

You are undereating, starving yourself (even if you don't know it) and your body will pay the price.  The food choices sound yummy, but you need A LOT more and to get healthy.  Undereatting is JUST as bad as overeatting.

You probably only have about 600 cals there, AT MOST.  Starting adding your cals to make sure your eating over 1200 and b/w 500-900 of what you burn.

oops i meant to say lunch not dinner.  i will have dinner as well!

Actually, that looks unhealthy and about 1100 calories to me. I hope you plan to get a lot of veggies and some more protein for dinner.

I also hope you're accurately counting your calories. Some foods are easy to miscalculate, as you can probably tell by the difference between my estimate and mperic81's estimate. My "big croissants" average 600 calories by themselves according to my digital scale.

I've got to echo the others here. Taking in less than 1200 calories a day will actually be counter-productive because your body will adjust to this rather quickly and go into "starvation mode"; as a result, your metabolism will slow down.

I have to ask, is your physical hunger satisfied on this amount of food? (I'm guessing it's a small amount, but I don't know how much "half a pot" of hummus is or how "big" the croissant is. Also, try having your larger meals earlier in the day. I know it's tough for folks who aren't used to eating breakfast to eat an actual breakfast, but it really will help keep you going all day.

I would also recommend that you take a look at your activity...are you doing weights as well as cardio? You don't have to do a lot of weight; you just need enough to tire the muscles and force them into recovery mode for 24 hours...that will keep your metabolism burning for hours after exercise. Exercise will also help keep your metabolism up in the first place.

I've lost 47lbs. since July 27Th of this year. I've done this, eating as healthy as i can. I have broken all of the diet "rules" by eating food as close to the way nature makes them as i can, this includes the EVIL saturated fats in milk and meat. besides the weight loss, my blood cholesterol has gone from a level that concerned my doctor, to 98, whatever that is. i used the tools available on CC and i track what i eat, everyday. i weigh once a week in the AM, to be as accurate as i can. my wife is on the "easy does it does it" diet, which is essentially "nutrisystem", home made and frozen til we eat it for a meal, very tasty and very convenient.

I eat 2200 calories a day and i have never been more healthy and alive! I wish you well on your journey, and remember, the trouble will be worth it, after all it is for you!

Might want to edit your original post then. People tend not to read middle posts. Wink What is your dinner going to be like? If you replace kashi bar with some real food and add veggies for dinner/snack shouldn't be too bad.
