Weird Question to Female Norwegian Decent

Bear with me..this is a rather strange question.  For those of you females of Norwegian decent -  do you have wide sternums??  I am very small boned, but have a very wide sternum.  Since I was adopted, I don't have any females of blood relations to check with.  I'm just curious...OK, I'll tell you why...

I have good-sized boobs but no cleavage...my GYN says it's because I have a very wide sternum for my bone structure.     Soooo...I'm just curious............

I would totally answer this question, but I cant see my sternum...there's skin over it. I think I have a pretty wide rib cage though - even if I lose a lot of weight I will always wear a size large top because of my bone structure... so maybe that means yes?

i don't know about my sternum but i do have a wide ribcage. and like azirra even at my smallest i would average a size large shirt. my sisters, on the other hand, both have very very small bone structures. but we're ony 1/4 norwegian so i must have inherited the bulk of the viking genes. also, one of my cousins has a wide rib cage as well.

I am not of Norwegian decent.  But I have a fair amount of Danish blood.  I too have a wide rib cage.  My chest is wide and deep.  alas, I do have clevage as I have a large cup size.  But there is a 2 finger width of clear space between the girls. 

When I was skinny (size 2) I still wore a large shirt!

I am way norwegian... my Great-grandma came over on a ship from there.  So anyway yeah, my boobies are like a mile apart and have never touched I don't think.. doesn't help there not that big though.  Miricle bra's couldn't ever give me cleavage.  Soo maybe it is a Scandinavian thaaang.  My sisters and cousins are the same way.  HTH!

Same as the other posters.  Danish ancestors and broad thick chest.  Even with my increased after baby breasts no cleavage. However this frame allows me to carry about 20 extra pounds.  Of course that means I got to be 40 pounds overweight rather than 20!

I'd have to agree.  Small boobs, lucky to fill an A when pregnant.....at my smallest I still wore a size L shirt.  Gma and Gpa on Dad's side both 100% Norwegian and first ones in their families to be born here in the states. 

When I weighed 160, everyone thought I looked anorexic and around 135-140.

Thanks for all of your posts!  I actually have a very small rib cage - only 30" around under my boobs...but it's my "breast bone" (sternum) that's wide..just for clarification.  I guess it must be a genetic-thing. 

I'm afraid that if my sternum were actually visible, my DH would strap me down and start pouring cheese cake down my throat to fatten me up.

Well, what's the 'average' size for a sternum? I've never really thought about the size of the sternum before! I'm have a tad of Scandinavian in me, but I don't know if it's larger than "normal".

is this what we're talking about here with the no cleavage thing? (except for those that are too small to create cleavage)

 yep, it's the cleavage thing...and my girls aren't small - 38D, but I've always been disappointed I didn't have cleavage.  I really like your icons!!!!

Norwegian girl here.....yup wide for sure....and unfortunatly the girls point ....down ...and out........I also have weird hips and pretty much have a bigger build but I build muscle fairly well so thats really what I am focusing on right now.....ok off topic sorry! =)

Yet another yes. With no bra, I have a solid three-finger space between the twins. They definitely point out rather than forward, and while I can get cleavage  to a certain extent (36DD) it normally looks like this: ( . )( . ) rather than this: ( . | . ), if that makes sense. But then, I also carry weight well, tend to look much lighter than I am, and am pretty strong for my size and fitness level. So I'll take it. :-)

I have no boobs.

This is very interesting.  I never really thought about my body being characteristic of any particular population group.  But it makes sense as I look most like my fathers side of the family which is 3/4 Danish. 

I'm 1/2 Norwegian, 1/2 Swedish, and as my mother always told me, I have a barrel-chest. Thanks. I never gave it much thought, but I think there must be something to it! I do have a big gap between my boobs. Hmmm.

On a positive note, it sounds like Scandinavian women carry their weight well, and are typically strong, so that's good.

My poor daughter doesn't have much hope in the cleavage department...her Dad is full-blooded Norwegian! LOL!

Cleavage is over-rated! 

Are there women of any national origin or decent that have cleavage without a bra???

I'm Dutch, which is sort of almost Scandinavian, and I too have a wide rib cage and ta-tas that exist completely independently of each other.  Poor things must get lonely sometimes.

As a Dutch woman, I also have the added bonus of having DBD (Dutch Butt Disorder).  So me bum is a tad wide as well.
