weird question ... plz don't laugh ... is it possible to weigh less in different cities??

Ha ha! I really don't think this is true, but it's strange because I was visiting my grandma in a different city all last week and I was 115 lbs the day before I left, 115 lbs the day I got back and currently 117 lbs (ugh.) All week I weighed each morning on my grandma's scale as I do at home each morning on my own, and all week I was 113 lbs. I ate more than I do at home because, well, it was a holiday and everything, and my grandma's a good cook :) I thought it was OK to indulge since I wasn't gaining and all but now I come home and THIS! Is my grandma's scale just nice? I stayed with my aunt who lives nearby for a couple of nights too, and her scale gave me the same lower numbers! Maybe my scale's just mean, or ... something?

I'm probably just being obsessed, but it seemed backwards ... I wanna go back on holiday so I can lose more weight!! hee hee

Could be your scale or her scale is off. However, I'm going to guess the more likely culprit is that you ate some salty nuts on the plane trip!! Or rehydrated once you got off the plane. Flying is very dehydrating.

I'd wait a few days and it'll probably come right off. It's just 2 lbs!

It could also be TTOM weight fluctuation. (see my profile for a chart that'll show you that TTOM fluctuations aren't just at TTOM - they can happen mid-month too).
elevation above sea level can have a small effect (top 5,000km mountain you weigh 0.2% less than at sea level), so unless you were at a really high evelation on during your holiday, probably just because you are using a different scale.
Don't worry, and glad you ate well at your grandmas.

the scale is the culprit.  I went to Bed Bath and Beyond the other week and weighed myself on 4 different scales and got 4 very different weights.  And they were all zeroed out at the start.  I now weigh myself at a particular scale in the mall instead.  Even if it's "off", it should be consistent.

no doubt man, east coast vs west coast there is a 10 pound weight difference.  It works a lot like time zones.
Like time zones?? You mean it could have something to do with location??? Seriously???
no joke, why do you think asians in Japan are so Rail thin, but when they come east they just get bigger... its a nearly proven science fact.

lol this post has definitely made me laugh, clearly time zones is the culprit here :)

Seriously though, I would definitely say it's the scale, I'm not so sure about the accuracy of digital scales but the accuracy of non-digital scales is pathetic. The only scales that I think are accurate are the ones that you find like at the gym or the doctors office. The ones you stand on and move the little weights.

scale... don't be so worried about your daily weight, it fluctuates. you need to be looking at your overall weekly average. also, try scaling in in the morning before you have eaten. ;)
