weird symptoms and needing some suggestions. (may be tmi for some people at different parts)

okay you guys, I realize nobody can really give me any definite answers except a doctor, but I'd just like a few opinions, and a lot of you lovely people seem pretty worldly.

(the tmi starts...sorry for the squemish Foot in mouth)

recently i've been having pretty bad gastrointestinal problems. uhm....how do I say this? pretty pent up until I finally can go...and then going a lot. it's quite...draining. ~blush, hide~ my abdomen has periods of really cramping up/and i feel really bloated a lot of the time.

(male audiences may want to turn away)

another symptom is...well...down there smells kinda weird and has been leaking clear discharge for almost 4 days now. i haven't had a period in almost 2 1/2 years, and remember there was a distinct smell...but i don't remember what it was like. so i'm not sure if it might be a yeast infection or possibly my body trying to start its period.

here's what I do know:

-recently I was placed on metformin to try to regulate my blood sugar levels. i've seen pretty marked improvement in stable blood sugar. the only slight deterrent that i can really see is that my appetite has decreased...and i don't think i need to loose weight. (well logically...recovering from ED, so I always fight that pull, but I'm doing a good job at stopping it :]). my night eating problems have significantly improved...i've actually had a few nights where i've abstained from it completely. i know that gastrointestinal distress is a side effect of metformin...but i just don't know, haha

-i've talked with several friends who have known of my gastronomical problems through the past year, and some have suggested that it may be gluten intolerance. i've tried the GF diet earlier on, but I was going through so many side effects caused by birth control that it was really hard to tell whether my symptoms improved or not.

-i've recently been cutting back on the exercise/cardio at the gym, moving less in general in my daily routine, resting more, and hitting 2000-2500 calories a day (nearer to the 2500 mark a lot of the time...which I'm honestly still nervous about but trying to disregard :/), and usually getting around or over 50g of GOOD dietary fat a day. yesterday i felt impractically emotional for a while...like everything upset me. and I can kinda remember PMS...but not too clearly cause it's been so long.

it's just confusing.

any suggestions on what this might be? i just wonder if anyone's had similar experiences. i know it's a lot of symptoms to wade through, but i was just wondering.

also, i was wondering if anybody recovering from exercise addiction could suggest a proper activity level for me to stick to? i'm getting better, but still struggling a bit with this aspect of my recovery.

You're right... you need to see a doctor.  What you're describing involves so many different things that, especially with your medical history, you need a professional to sort them all out, do the right tests, decide if there are any connections and then come up with a diagnosis.

You don't mention if the gastric problems involve diarrhoea or loose stools...  If that's what you're experiencing, together with the cramping and constipation, you really shouldn't be letting it carry on for any longer than you have to.

okay just wanted to see. I have an appointment with my OB-Gyn today so hopefully things will get resolved a bit more. thanks! :]
