weird things your pets eat

Quote  |  Reply

My boy cat loves peas and corn. He goes after it like it's a piece of steak. He also loves yogurt, he'll come running if he hears you scraping the last bits of it from the cup (we give him the empty cup). He loves milk too, he knows when you have the milk pitcher, and knows it's coming when he hears cereal poured - we just give him a little splash of it in his dish. My girl cat likes yogurt too, but not as die hard as him. She is not so health conscious as him, more into junk food. She's eaten chips and candy (before anyone yells at me it's just a small piece, she shows interest so we gave a bit). Just now she licked peanut butter off my finger which is a first I've seen.

Only other thing I can think of is my dad's dog eats carrots.

So what about your pets?

I clean my dog's eye gunk regularly.  He's white, so you can really see when it builds up.  Anyhow, he wanted to smell it the first time I pulled some off.  Before I could do anything, he licked it off my finger!  Now, whenever I clean his eyes, he tries to eat the nasty stuff!

I have a cat that goes nuts over horseradish sauce, the spicier the better.  He loves the stuff and will do anything to get hold of it.

My husband also has the bad habit of letting our little Pom taste some of his icecream our letting her lick our bowls or plates when we've finished our food (so long as it was all doggie-safe food, of course).  Now when she sees us eating, she sits at our feet and waits patiently, wagging her tail at the speed of light.
my dad's dog is always ravenous and will try to eat anything that hits the floor.  raw onions, icecubes, dirt, wrappers...

the most memoriable instance was when i was cooking something piping hot and super spicy and a bit of it fell on the floor when i was transfering the food to a serving dish.  she lapped it up, and immeditately shook her head around, flailing her tongue while making a sneezing noise.  then as i'm trying to clean it up with a napkin, she continues to try and eat it.
My dog doesn't do too much. Luckily, she leaves things alone if they fall on the floor... except for if I drop a q-tip. haha

My cat seems to enjoy sweet potatoes. She goes crazy trying to get them and won't stop pestering me till she gets some. My parents have a cat that has some sort of plastic licking fetish, but shes just weird.

My cat loves beer.  I know bad we only give her a splash.  She will follow you around till she gets some.  My other cat loves ritz crackers and wheat thins.  She onlygets those when I am going to vacuum thought.
Anything I have on my plate.  Yesterday I was picking at a piece of Church's chicken in bed and here comes Vodka, lickin' at it, trying to nibble at it.  I usually push her away but if I have ice cream, I'll let her and Whiskey have a few licks.

My dog like almost anything that isn't dog food.

The one thing I can't stand though is when I catch her trying to eat those darned cat box tootsie rolls!      Ick!!

my couch

My cat loves marshmallows. One time, I threw a bag of them out and a little later I come back and the trash is all across the floor, the trash can is on it's side, and there is a bag of half eaten marshmallows all chewed up and covered in cat spit. This cat also likes pizzel cookies and angel food cake.

My other cat goes nuts over raw sugar snap peas. We give him one and, after a couple hours of throwing it around the house, he either eats it or leaves it for someone to step on. This cat is also crazy about any kind of yogurt, espeacially the lemon kind.

The only thing I find weird about my dogs is their melon bigotry. One will beg you for cantaloupe but won't look twice at a honeydew. The other would kill me where I stand for a tiny morsel of honeydew but wouldn't touch cantaloupe if you paid her.

They both like pineapple and lettuce for some reason too, and the fat one has tried to eat an entire head of garlic before. He got through 3 cloves before I caught him. He exuded garlic for days after.

Plastic. Anything plastic. Hes shredded foam packing(not the peanuts, the big stuff), rubber bands, christmas lights(that weren't plugged in), plastic wrap, cotton(not plastic, but weird) etc.. Whenever hes crouched somewhere eating something I rush over and pinch his cheeks so he lets go. Without fail, its plastic. Thats Lotus, Bloobie likes walnuts and dates.

My dog likes tomatos.  She figured out how to see if they're ripe and swipes them right off the plant if I don't watch her like a hawk.

I've had a lot of dogs and cats at the same time and dogs love the tootsie rolls as thinknthin mentinoed

I have a puppy who loves paper towels and toilet paper and kleenex.  If I blow my nose in another room he comes running and jumping trying to grab the kleenex and if we leave the bathroom doors open he'll go wild digging in the garbage for paper products.  He also loves to tear up his squeaky toys and eat the stuffing.  He also grazes on the grass like a cow.

Both my dogs love peanut butter - when I open the jar they come running- I love putting a dab on their upper mouth and watching them try to eat it - I'm so mean

I had a dog that would eat tamales except he would lick al lthe good stuff off the green olive and leave the olive behind. (true tamales made in the true tradition have green olives in for good luck)

My cat used to love bread, but he is no longer with us.  :(  But my brother's cat a home loves CHEESE!  If you're in the kitchen cooking and she thinks you might have some, she stares up and watches you until you give her some.  Then the very SIGHT of cheese makes her start to purr.  Weirdo cat...

My cat LOOOOVES popcorn. like he eats it whenever he gets a chance (which isn't that often, since the only person in my house who likes it is my brother). he'll eat it one piece at a time and we found out that he's very adept at catching it if we throw pieces at him.

also he likes cheez-its... kinda odd.

lol cheez-its, that's amazing :D

My dog loves to lick the top of my coffee table. He likes ice cubes also.

My boss' dog's favorite food in the world is cat poop.

The dog we had when I was growing up would eat boxes of raisins.  She would hold the box between her paws, open the box with her nose, and suck all the raisins out, leaving the box perfectly intact.

Last summer, I lived with a dog that would eat corn on the cob really carefully.  She would hold down the ear, eat all the kernels off one side, then roll it over and eat the rest of the kernels.

My favorite cat was a terrible cheese thief.  If you left a pizza on the counter, he would open the box and eat all the cheese off the pizza, then leave a little trail of pizza sauce colored kitty footprints.  We learned to put something heavy on top of the pizza box before leaving the kitchen.

My Mom's dog, who is no longer with , use to love to lick the dining room chairs after he ate. Weird.

My little cat will eat the older cat's puke eeewww.
