How long has this site been up and running....
Just found it recently and hope it will help to motivate me again....In 2001-2002 I lost 102 pounds with diet and exercise, but have regained 37 pounds.
I want it off, and am feeling motivated again.

Hi taplover -- we've been running Calorie-Count since mid-2003, but have started to make some serious changes over the past year with the addition of the food log and user accounts.
Thanks for stopping by and glad to hear you think this website might be of use! 100+ lbs -- that's fantastic!

Hi All:
I have successfully lost 55 pounds this past year (even through the holidays) and now am on my maintenance program. As the new year starts I am not making a resolution. I have a sincere determination to maintain my weight at 190 and I am glad to have the support of this group in doing so. I have had to change my whole way of eating and have done so effectively, but now comes the challenge of putting something back but how much and how often? Let's share our adventures and our failures and mostly support each other.
Love and Health to All.

i started using this site in March 2005.i had a great eye opener. i stepped on a scale and found that i was up to 270 lbs. when using it daily, i lost 40 lbs. since then i have slacked off and have gained about 5 lbs. my New Year's resolution is to get healthy! i still need to lose about 55 lbs, so i looked to this site again. i really like it and the number of foods you can find calories for has greatly increased. thanks for the help, and i will be visiting here MUCH more often in 2006!! i also like that you can chart your activities for the day.
Hi everyone - Just like Jim (#6 above), I've also lost 55 lbs this past year (by exercising & changing my eating habits & portion size) and am currently maintaining the weight. Actually, believe it or not, I should gain another 5 lbs. as I lost more than I should. I love the new me!!! My new year's resolution is to maintain my weight and lifestyle change and keep going to the gym. Happy & Healthy New Year!
This is my first time on a message board, especially one for people trying to lose weight. I had lost nearly 60 pounds last year with the South Beach diet, exercise, and a long history of bulimia. I was doing great. However, my marriage is ending, and the pounds have crept back on with stress and frustration. I have had no incentive to exercise, and ice cream had become my comfort. I decided that I was not going to let the person who has made me feel bad all these years get the last laugh, so I am starting anew. I could really use some support from you all out there.
only just found your website. i love it. hopefully it will help to keep me motivated to meet my goals.
Hi,
I've been
owsing this site for most of the year, checking in from time to time for updates and using the tools etc. It's nice to see some forums up and happening :)
I started my weight loss journey in Oct 04 at 118kg (260lbs) and at this point in time I'm at 84.6kg (186lbs)
I have PCOS, plus due to my weight am pre-diabetic, so I see a specialist to help me with my weight loss. She would like me to get to 78kg (171lbs), that puts me in a healthy weight range for my height, but I would like to get to 70kg (154lbs)
I'm sticking to counting calories/fat, exercising everyday (except Saturdays) and have changed my eating habits to 5-6 small meals a day. Medium
eakfast, big lunch and small dinner. Snacks are a maximum of 150calories. My current calorie intake is 1300-1400 a day and I try to keep my fat at less than 40gms a day.
I look forward to hearing about everyone's weight loss journeys.

Hey All,
I'm a mommy of a three year old and a new baby, so I'm trying to get off those last 10 pounds. This site has been great! It's fun to read everyone's success stories and receive support for those struggling. I am a nursing mom, so losing weight and getting enough nutrition for my baby is a hard balance. It would be great to chat with other nursing mommies to see what works for them! Happy being healthy!!!

HI
I have been using the site staring the end of last july . I have been using the vollumetrics aproach and hav lost 30 lbs ( this is the only eating plan I have found that does not leave me feeling hungry all the time) and I allow for one treat or dider out splurge for each 5 lbs I loose. I gained one LB back over the holidays but now that I have learned to eat more healthy I know it will be gone again soon. 160 feels so much better than 190 did . and it feels so good to be in a size 14 again . My goal is 148-150 which is what the hight and weigh chart says I should be.

I need to loose about 70 pounds. I lost 20 this past year.
I am a slow looser, I have trouble staying on diets.
I don't like to exercise, even fun exercise is work to me.
I get no help what so ever here at home, my husband insists on desserts and favorite foods. I have to eat 1,000-1,200 calories a day to loose any weight, and I feel like I'm starving. I know all the rules, I know if I eat more fruits and veggies I can eat more food volume. But, I'm not a good veggie eater.
I am a carb-addict. I've tried the low carb diets, and I thought I'd die.
I wish I could find an easier way.

Well Erik...Here I am saying g'day from Australia. Back in October of 2005 I decided once and for all to loose weight. Even applied for the Biggest Looser (tha aussie version). I was not successful but a thought went through my mind. What if I started to loose weight by myself and see where will I be by the time the Aussie Version ends in 2006. I am happy to say that I am on the road of loosing weight. I am a 44 year old woman and weighed a massive 115.2kg (253lbs) my BMI index was 43, which meant I was massivley obese. Today on the 1st of January 2006 I am 7.2kg (15.84lbs) lighter and my BMI index is 41. Isn't that fantastic. Its a hard job loosing weight as you probably know, but when you start feeling the benefits of your weight loss it is all worth while. New Years Eve I celebrated at a local hotel dancing the night away, and had a blast. I felt so energised all because of this weight loss. I have blisters on my feet from all the dancing........Loosing weight is certainly the best thing that I have done for a long long long time...........Wow next year I am hoping to be 40kg (88lbs) lighter........There will be no stopping me when I hit the dance floor.....
Anyway thanks for this forum it will be a huge help for me. Have already posted a topic and perhaps you could help me with the little worry I have. Pls have a look and feel free to reply.........

Eric, thanks for this great site! I have been using it for some time now and have told all my friends about it. I use www.calorie-count.com more often 'and longer' then I have ever used any other diet aid.
I just found the forums area and can't wait to use it.

To nuclearmom1: I would like to support you. After all those hard work (losing 60 lbs), you wouldn't like to start all over again. Within the past year, I've lost 50+ lbs myself and I would hate to gain them back. If opportunity arises and affordable, I would highly recommend a personal trainer. He's a great blessing to me with his professionalism, encouragement and a great supporter. Don't know how else I would've done without him. Maybe 2006 will bring you a happy and healthy new year!
I just found this site. I started just tracking the calories that I'm consuming since Thursday. I want to see where I have problems. I need to lose about 40 pounds. Even without planning my meals yet I'm already saying no to snacks I don't need.
