Wow!  We've already got 9 members and groups has just gone live today!

I'm very excited.  I guess I'll start this show.

1) I've been up and down my entire life.  Not overweight and not skinny.  Always something in between

2) I've been with CC now for about a year and a half.  I love this site.  Even though I'm maintaining, I stay here because I have so much fun.

3)I didn't actually join this group.  It was already started and I was named the moderator of it.  But I like that we have a group just for women regarding health and beauty.  You can expect to see me here alot.

4)  I'm not too exciting.  I'm married to a wonderful man.  We have 2 cats and a dog.  No kids yet, but hopefully some day.

I've never been part of any online group Caloriecount is the first thing I've joined.  I'm 44 and my body is starting to change into that of an older women so I'm trying to maintain some of my youth by not letting my body get too out of control.  I just gained ten lbs in one summer and am the heaviest I've ever been and not comfortable with it.  So I started a diet this week and hopefully will be able to loss the ten and feel healthier again.

I'm married with four children, a dog, bird, fish and a lizard.  I love to mingle with people so I think I'll do okay in a group.

Hi. I am Karoline. I am 46, married with two grown daughters, and I live in S.C. I have struggled slightly off and on with weight over the years....I was in the military, best shape I was ever in; when I was right out of highschool. So I know what it takes....but as I got older, I just didn't do it. I had the typical weight gain with pregnancy...well, a lot of weight gain!! And I took it off again...but put it back on gradually over the years depending on my circumstances. I tend to be an emotional eater or non-eater at times...so it yo's yo's a lot. I am joining to try to get a handle on things. I think if I have actual numbers and charts to look at...I will do better. As I have gotten older, and starting the ever so popular "pre-menopausal" stages...I am finding it much harder to just eat without paying attention. It doesn't take long for the weight to pile on...but it sure takes a lot to get it back off. Look forward to meeting some of you and sharing stories, trials and tribulations...as well as accomplishments and successes. I have learned to take one day at a time...and be grateful for even the smallest achievement...every little bit helps. Peace, ruby 43.

1. History with weight loss: I was very small until I had my third child. I went from 125-130 on a 5 5 frame to 140 and 145. That changed to 150 before I knew it. By my 4th child, I was a size 16 and the biggest I'd ever been.

Since then (14 years) I have been at an 18-20 only twice and one of those times is now.

I've lost using WW, and tried other programs but ended up gaining it back. This time, I had a goiter and grave's disease so they removed my thyroid... waited for it to not work and now I'm on medicine. I've gained 41 pounds in the past several months.

2. History with Calorie Count: This is the first time I've seen calorie-count and it looks promising so far:)

3. Reason for joining this group: Facing up to the reality of what I weigh instead of hiding it "until" I weigh less. The truth is ... I need to lose 86 pounds to be a the healthiest weight for my small build.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:
My husband and I have five children but only two are still at home. Our oldest son and his wife live across town and are parents to our grandgirl (2) and grandson (10 months)

Our second to oldest and his wife are in Italy right now where he just returned from a tour in Afghanistan. They are moving back here when he gets out.

Third to oldest just left to go to college and he loves it and is busy every night.

Our only daughter is in high school and our youngest is in Kindergarten this year.

We have two indoor beagles, two indoor cats, two outdoor bassets and an outdoor border collie mix!

My intro's are long because it takes so long to add the basics:)

1. History with weight loss: I was always thin growing up. I gained about 5 lbs right after I got married. Then after my son was born, I was so busy taking care of him, I started to neglect me. Even though I weighed less than I had when I got pregnant, I soon gained about 20 lbs. I lost about 5 lbs but then I got pregnant again, and never lost that last 15 lbs. I've been trying to lose that last 15 lbs for almost 5 years now. I tried WW, but it costs money, and I would feel frustrated by how few Points I could eat and how few Points I earned exercising.
2. History with Calorie Count: I had been researching weight loss and calories, and this site came up. I started reading it, and it was pretty much doing what I had been trying to do on my own, so I decided to give it a try. So far I'm pleased with the results.
3. Reason for joining this group: Realizing that I feel better about myself now that I'm losing those last 15 lbs, and that it did matter to me deep down.
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I'm a stay at home mom. My husband is a runner, which used to make me feel worse, but now motivates me (although I will never be a runner). We have 2 kids, a dog and a snake. I love reading and playing on the computer.

Hi I've just joined and having never done anything like this before am not sure what to say.  I've always been pretty thin and healthy and then just recently over the last year my body seems to have changed and I have put 18lbs on.  Although not yet overweight I am now on the very edge of the healthy weight range and would like to lose some and get my eating back under control.  As well as joining this site today I have joined a gym and have my induction with a rather goodlooking instructor tomorrow.

I'm married to a wonderful man and have two children, a dog and cat.  I love reading, going to the theatre.

I'm hoping to get motivation by joining this group.  My husband is great but has a great deal of will power and is just naturally thin!!

Hello there,

My name is Denise and I am from Lincolnshire, Grantham  in England. I am 46 years old, vegetarian, animal lover.

My history with weightloss is only One other calorie counting site which I paid for not realising there were sites for free like this one. I lost 2 stone on the other site doing what this site offers for free, now would like to lose another 10lbs, maybe less. Love the feeling of being in control of my life just by calorie counting.

We have a Garage Door Business which is doing ok and have just started a Ironing business, yet to see how well it does. I also sell on e-bay when I have time

My mum and my partners mum both live with us in a 3 bedroomed house, Brians mum is 76 and needs care, she has her own room, my mum is 68 and has a bedroom and another bedroom turned into a sitting room, she is quite active. Brian and I have turned the sitting room downstairs into our bedroom.

We have lots of animals as people bring them to us when in need, our own animals are, rescued, 3 dogs, 3 parrots, 2 budgies, 1 parakeet, 4 hens, 1 cockeral. Tomorrow we are fetching some chicks and 4 more hens that are needing a new home, we will keep them.

Brian and I  are very laid back people and enjoy and love life even though we never go on holliday we are Hermits really but we do have friends that visit us a lot.

Brian has a daughter in America with his ex wife but sadly I cant have children.

Try to live life to the full mentally as you never know when it will be your last.

Denise x

Hello all you newcomers!

Welcome!

Denise, looks like you have a full house!  Wow!  I thought having just 2 cats and a dog was tough...

Hello everyone! I am a 23yo Mom of a new baby boy and a loving wife to my hubby who is deloyed to Iraq right now. I am living the life of a single mom for the next 8 months. Ashton my son, is only a month old today. I have just joined calorie count and so far really like this website. I have lost 33lbs (my pregnancy weight plus a few lbs) since I had my baby and now I am working on the rest. I am a stay at home mom and plan to be for the first few years of my childs life. I am here for support and to hopefully make some friends. Goodluck to everyone!

Hey Everyone! My name is Savannah! My stats are as follows: 5’3, 145, last known body fat was 18% (that was a year ago though!), 38 hips, 31 waist, 26 chest. My goal is 130lbs! I am pretty athletic, although like every human being I have my moments of inactivity and laziness, which just so happens to be right now! Haha! Well that’s not 100% true I run almost every day, but I don’t always run for 30 mins. I am in the military and I am trying to get my 1.5 mi down to 11:00 (it’s one of my goals!) I am also using a pedometer and aim to get 10,000 steps a day. As far as my eating goes…well it’s not the best and it’s not the worst. This is the first time I have started counting my calories. I didn’t realize how many I was consuming in a day (near 4,000!!!! Ahhh!) It’s no surprise I wasn’t losing any weight. But now I am going to give this all a shot and see how it goes. My calorie aim is around 1900. Some days I eat more, some days less. I am hoping that if I give my food intake a serious look I will be able to lose these 15 extra pounds that have been hanging around for the last 4 years! As far as my personal life, I don’t have much of one haha! I am 22 years old and have been active duty in the Air Force for 4 years now! My job is Security Forces, which is basically a glorified security guard, haha! Last year I made a whole bunch of big changes to my life to include buying a house, getting a new nicer car and getting my puppy, Dudley! I live by myself out in the country and love it! I have good roads to run on and take my puppy on. I am currently deployed to Iraq but will hopefully be leaving very soon! I enjoy my job immensely but the hours are long and my schedule is not always very accommodating to a healthy life style. But I always find a way around it. Good luck to everyone with their goals!!!

hell-o, my name is marla, and i live in the beautiful state of kentucky. i am 48 years old, i have two grown boys, two wonderful daughter-in-laws, and a very rambunctious grandson named andrew. (who by the way is almost 2). and a step grand daughter lizzy short for elizabeth. i have struggled with my weight all my live. the most i have weighed was at one point 210 pds. so i decided to join w.w. i lost 40 pds. this was app. 5 years ago. i am glad to say that i have not gained back any of the 40 pds. but i want to finish losing the remain 30 or so pds. today i found calorie count. i was just browsing the web and happened up on it. right now i work in the industry field but my place of employment is shutting its doors. so i will be unemployed in the near future.Foot in mouth my main goals are to lose the remaining weight that i have and to have a healthier lifestyle.

Hello, my name is Amanda and I am also a Kentucky lady.

1. History with weight loss:  I really don't have a history with weight loss.  Until recently I just didn't have time to really notice how much I had gained.  All through high school and the first semester of college I ran track and field and cross country and weighed 102 at 19.  Now at 26 I reached my peak of 170 in May and almost fainted when I realized how unhealthy I really was.

2. History with Calorie Count:  I'm really new to calorie count, but so far I love it.  I can already see how much it is motivating me!

3. Reason for joining this group: I feel more comfortable and understood by women.  My husband can decide on Monday he needs to loose ten lbs and by Friday he's done.  We are much more fickle creatures and who better to lend support!

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:  I have been married almost 7 years, I have a 4 year old son and 2 year old bloodhound.  I love Nora Roberts novels, I can read one in a single day if I can sneak away from the boys long enough.  I have been a Domestic Violence Victims Advocate for 2 years and love it, although I did stress eat!

I look forward to getting to know all of you!

My name is Tia, I live in the beautiful dry part of Washington State near the Idaho border.  I am married to an amazing man and have 3 children, 2 stepchildren (all grown) and one absolutely adorable 6 month old grandson.  My husband and I currently don't have any pets, so are officially empty nesters. I have worked as a secretary for the local government for 19 years.  I enjoy crocheting, jewelry making, skiing, water skiing, and triathlon.  Currently my husband is working in Afghanistan and is scheduled to be home just before Christmas.  I would really love to lose 15 pounds by then. I have always been just a little overweight, but never really heavy.  Now that I am 46, I find that those 5-10 extra pounds are now 15-20 extra pounds.  I have been a runner for almost 20 years off and on.  For the last 3 years I have been doing triathlons.  Although I exercise a lot, (4 to 6 days a week) I don't seem to lose any weight.  I have done WW with some success, and WW online without too much success.  A friend told me about CC so I thought I'd give it a try.  Hopefully talking with others like me will help me keep my eating on track.

Hi all!

I am Yaaquut, 5' 2" ft tall, 33 years. Living in the Middle East.

1. History with weight loss: Need to lose about 16 lbs and maintain
2. History with Calorie Count: Joined few months ago
3. Reason for joining this group: To share women only ideas, tips and secrets on health and beauty
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: Married ,no child yet but working and praying hard to get, like flowers and nature in general

Hello. I am Jayme. I am 28. I have been married for 9 years, and we have 3 kids ages 7 1/2, 5, and 2. I have lost 60 lbs before had my daughter, but had some issues with PPD and lost all motivation. I am now back where I began and then some. I have 77 lbs to lose. I am now feeling ready get back to losing weight, and feeling good about myself again.

Hi, I'm Patty.  I'm 32 yrs old, and a single mom to a 5 yr old girl.  I'm a full-time college student, double majoring in English and Graphic Design.  It's a busy life and snacking while burning the midnight oil has been a big problem.  I'm looking for a night job as well, so busy is about to turn into chaotic.  I've been overweight most of my life, and have stayed at 190-210 for the past several years.  I'm 5'9" and carry the weight well, but it's still miserable to be so heavy. I yo-yo a lot and have too many clothes that don't fit right now, since I've suddenly found myself on the up-swing of the yo-yo ride (thanks to the holidays).  I've been on Calorie Count for a few days now, and have become addicted to it.  I'm hoping to make some friends here, so that we can share ideas and experiences to help further our weight loss and body toning.

While I'm in school, my daughter and I are living with my parents, along with two dogs, a cat, three birds, and a fish.

1. I have been everything from a size 6 to a 20 over the past 7 years.  When life is good I tend to get "fat and happy" syndrome, when I am stressed out I tend to not eat.  I have only done one diet in my life and never lost a pound on it (Atkins, with a strict gym schedule).

2. I joined CC two years ago, lost a few pounds and stopped.  I am looking to lose about 40 pounds over the next year.  This should put me at the size 8/10 where I am comfortable.  I am giving myself a whole year bc I work in a restaurant with crazy hours and limited choices for healthy eating.  I like CC because logging the food should help me hold myself accountable for my food choices.

3. I joined this group because I think women have unique challenges to health and beauty and would like to share my experiences on them.

4. I am a restaurant manager with a 4 yr degree.  I like to read, and watch Food Network and football, and quilt when I have time.

My name is Erica, I'm going to be 25 on Saturday. This is an age I am not looking forward to at all.

I have been over weight all my life and have no problems with the way I look. I want to lose weight for health reasons.

I am a yo-yo dieter. I try something new all the time. Weight Watcher's has been successful in the past, but not for more then 30lbs.

Over the summer I lost about 80 lbs on my own and would to keep going but I find myself at a stand still. I joined CC to help me track food choices and weigh-in's.

I am an accountant who thinks out side of the box, the best friend you will ever meet and the proud owner of three beautiful mutts.

Hello Ladies....my name is Mindy. I'm 37 and live in Long Beach, CA.

1. History with weight loss: I was first heavy in 5th/6th grade. Lost weight the wrong way (binge/purge; starvation; laxatives) in 7th grade. I've had a not so good but not too poor self image since then. I'm 5'3" on a good day and have flucuated between 105 and 140 pounds my adult life. Right now I'm on the upper end and would love to stay somewhere in the middle. Have tried a few fade diets, but find myself doing better with just eating right. It's maintaining the exercise program where I struggle. My snuggly warm bed just sounds so much better than a morning run!
2. History with Calorie Count:Found the site after looking for somewhere to journal my food intake. My cousin in on WW but never liked the points idea. I eat fairly well, organic options, actually like to eat tofu occasionally, avoid fast foods as much as possible. This is a great site so far!
3. Reason for joining this group: Thought it would be interesting to share and hear others' stories to continue the journey to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I'm single, a geologist, and love my work...too much at times! I have a 7 year old Aussie-Border Collie mix whom I love taking hiking or to the beach. I live for the outdoors and outdoor sports (skiing, hiking, running, blading). I've just recently joined a local "Boot Camp" workout program...recommend it to everyone! It's AWESOME!
