And now just go ahead and make that first post!
I'm 30 yrs old, had a baby last Feb and want to lose about 15 lbs. I haven't been able to do it since I just can't seem to get motivated to exercise. I work full-time, have a 1 yr old, clean the house, and the last thing I want to do is exercise. I like to walk, i have 2 cats, a husband, and i'm in sales. I need help getting motivated!
HI my name is Sherry and I am 30 pounds overweight. I am trying to regain muscle mass, I was sedentary for a long time. This is my second time dieting (BTW I hate the word diet sounds so temporary.) I just signed on Calorie Count this week. As I said above I am serious about regaining muscle. I workout 3 times a week in a class that is half cardio and half free weights. (I am using 5 pound weights as of right now.) I also walk 3 to 4 times a week. I do 3 to 4 miles on these walks. I will also be swimming laps by the second week of May. Last year I swam any where from a half a mile to a mile in an hour. Hopefully I will be able to go farther this year.
I am happily married and have 2 teenage boys.
Love to garden, swim, hike, 4x4, travel when affordable, I watch way too much TV.
Growing my own veggies and have a few fruit trees. Plan to have my own mini orchard someday.Have 2 cats in the yard........ I work partime but sometimes it is almost full time.
I need all the help I can get to acquire more muscle! If you have the knowledge, I will put in the work.
We sound very similar Sherry!
I have started my seeds for the garden, and am nursing them to be good and strong to plant outside. I am in the north, so I still have to wait until about mother's day to put them in the ground.
I am happily married as well--16 years, and have two teenagers and one tweenager. The 16 year old girl just got her driver's permit today! Yikes!
But about the weight loss/get muscle thing....
I am addicted to the scale, and have asked my husband to remove it so that I can weigh myself just once weekly. I inisist otherwise on torturing myself by seeing little to no difference from day, to day, hour to hour. Silly obsession.
I'm actually doing the P90x thing. So I'm burning serveral hundred calories daily. Also, as you know, I am following my calorie count advice, and eating a set number each day.
So, shame on me for not measuring or taking my fat content, or bmi thing before hand.
I guess I just need to wait and see....
Wow! I didn't mention how I am about the scale. I weigh myself throughout the day! I am obsessed and that is putting it mildly. So there is another similarity.
I have seen the commercials for the P90 and that looks quite intense!
I did not really measure myself except my waist and that stopped me dead in my tracks. My waistline measurements are unhealthy for a man! Needless to say I have to do this or else.
I have finally got to the amount of calories that Calorie Count has issued for me to lose weight. I did do the BMI and it said I am a little overweight, kind of an oxymoron don't you think?![]()
Enough of my rambling, have a great weekend!
Sherry
Hi, My name is Ann.
I started my first and only weight loss journey last Nov, so far I have lost 41lbs! I still have 75 to go.
I have been doing WW and it has been going great. I joined Calorie count about a month ago so I could compare the two.
I have to say I like them both. So I am doing the WW plan but am also tracking my caloorie intake here.
I joined this group because I have found out that I love to exercise. Wow never thought I would say that. I started going to the gym in January and I am hooked. I go most everyday for 1-2 hours. I thought I could learn something here. I am all for losing fat and gaining muscle. I will be 50 on my next BD and I plan on doing it looking better than I did at 30 or 40.
I have a desk job so I don't burn many calories at work. I love being outside (when it is warm) I love camping, bowling, crafts and movies.
I am also going on an all woman canoe trip in August so have been working on my strength and weight loss for that.
Hi everyone!
My name is Karine and I'm from Ottawa, Canada.
I've been battling with my weight for over a decade. In 2005, I started running and I feel in love with the sport. I had lost about 40 lbs when I was training for my first half marathon and then I became pregnant with my son in 2007. I had a rough pregnancy and my son was born 6 1/2 weeks premature but he is fine today.
Since I've been back at work, I have been walking 3k five times a week to get to and from work and in February I decided it was time to boost it up so I joined a gym. I've also signed up with a personal trainer to help me with my workouts and my nutrition.
I had previously joined CC before my pregnancy and now I am back to help me, once again, with my weight lost journey.
Why joining this group? Because it's better to have a good support group either at home, at work and even online to help you stay motivated in this adventure.
I'm planning on running three 5k races (2 in October and 1 in December) and then I'll take it from there, who knows I might be able to get back to a half marathon form and run it for the first time.
I work in the Canadian Government as a procurement agent so beside some meeting every now and then I'm pretty much at my desk. I love the great outdoors, I am an avid alpine skier and I like snowshowing and camping.
Hi everyone,
What a great website. It's funny, but myself and my cousin have been doing the same method of training and diet without even knowing it. We spoke recently and he told me of this site. It has helped me no end.
i find now that I look into everything I eat! My diet is far more balanced, and I feel great!
A year a go I weighed 160 lbs. Today I weight 240lbs! But this was through the south beach diet. the diet is not only expensive but really hard to maintain! Eating health is definitely the right way to go and with this site its now even easier!
Thanks again
Roy
Hi, Im Fil, i love this website... ive been on a diet plan for about 3 weeks now... i have fluctuated over the years from 180 to 200. im 5'11" and my body fat percentage has fluctuated between 18 to 25%... im in a situation where i want to be healthy but this was sparked by me breaking up with a girl who started dating a guy who actually looks alot like me but was in the better shape... yeah, that sucked.. so i started this workout program and now i'm down to 175 and 16.5% bodyfat. i want to get down to about 10-12% body fat.. as much as id like to have a 6pk i just really want to be strong and healthy... i havnt seen the ex in about a month and she hasnt seen me, i live in a small town where everyone normally sees each other everyday but ive been keeping myself busy... i know ill end up seeing her and her new bf this summer when our group of friends goes to the beach and my goal is to be in the best shape of my life and of course better shape than her new boytoy... i want this for myself but the idea of making her jaw drop is a nice vision.. lol.. ok ive written enough.. if anyone needs support or anything.. friend me or just message me.. laters and good luck with all of your journeys.. peace
Hey Fil,
Hope it all works out. How you finding your diet? I'm eating 5 times a day, but with the use of this website i'm eating a lot better than I could have expected. I'm trying to gain muscle but also loose weight/fat. It can be a fine line.
I'm sure come summer, you'll have a girl with twice the looks to take to the beach with you. Karma baby ![]()
thanks for the best wishes.. my diet isnt that hard to maintain actuyally.. i work at a blimpies.. not sure if you know what that is but its basically like a subway but better. lol... if i make food for myself at work i know my exact caloric and protein intake.. along with carbs and all that fun stuff, then when im home i usually just stick to steak and or chicken because its easy to track.. im also eating almonds and lots of fruit.. the weight has been droppin g fast but now i've plateau'd between 173 and 176.. but im gettting stronger and im still getting smaller.. my arms and legs are well defined and there is no "loose" skin.. my back has tightened up and become more sculpted and now its down to my chest and gut... i do 3 types of ab workouts a day but nothing that will kill me, then circuit training with supersets about 3 to 4 times a week and cardio is pretty much every day.. on days i dont do weights i run 5 miles at 65% of my heart rate which takes longer than normal but i want to burn that fat!! on days i work out with weights i usually just go for about 30 minutes at whatever i feel comfortable at.. it could be full force running or just a light run on an elliptical to protect my knees... my diet i usually eat about 3 times a day regular meals then 2 snacks.. im coninuously craving so i just substitute the sweets i used to grab for almonds or a protein bar... hows your progress been so far?
Hey everyone!!!
Im a 20 year old female. 5"3-5"4 about 120-123lbs (changes alot) my BRM is about 1300 (also changes site to site)
I eat between 1200-1250 calories a day (im scared to go over that because i gain weight easily) I have recently lost about 13lbs in 3-4 month spand and am looking to lose about another 5 to get down to 115lbs, but at the same time i want to tone everything and gain muscle.
I go to the gym 6 days a week and wont leave until i burn at least 500 calories (usually i do interval walking on an incline) i do lift weights everyother day but am looking for a new routine (its been 2 weeks and i hear you have to switch it up because your body gets used to lifting) so yesterday i added some extra reps in to work the body a little bit more.
i've kind of hit a plateau, and would take any suggestions on how to lose lower belly fat. I understand you cant spot lose or whatever its called but ive seriously tried everything and i cant get rid of it. I work on my abs everyother day on my weight days and always try to involve the whole body (such as pilate moves etc)
would love if someone could help me out to tone my arms and abs
thanks guys :)
oh, and just to add.
i eat 3 meals a day (usually about 200 calories each and it fills me up) and usually 5-7 snacks a day, im constantly eating to keep my metabolism higher then usual!!!
welcome to the group cs17... i also wanted to tone up my stomach and all the trainers at my gym have basically pointed out to work all parts of your abs.. the top the bottom and the obliques... u can try declined sit ups, or in and outs... or knee raises ona dip bar for bottoms.. the tops try a more concentrated crunch curling all the way up and try putting your hands extended over your head.. as for obliques you can get in the pushup position and make a bridge then alternat tweaking your body from side to side until failure... or swiss ball twist crunches.. if you look it up you can find the how to's.. i just had the trainers hsow me then i drew stick figures doing the exercises.. again.. welcome to the group. laters
I recently joined calorie count in order to get a better handle on my overall health, eating and lifestyle habits. I am 29 years old and the mother of a wonderful 2 year old boy. Childbirth and pregnancy did a number on my body and self image but I have lost the majority of my weight and am back to just a few pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight. My focus now is to find and maintain a sustainable eating and exercising regimen, that is not too restrictive but will allow me to reach my weight and BMI goals. I have always been very active and I enjoy working out as well as getting out and doing other activities that get my heart pumping. I am still trying to regain the shape of my body although I know there are some things that I wouldn't be able to regain without surgery (not an option). there are other things about my body that I have learned to appreciate while others that I have just learned to accept as is. In the meantime I am generally happy about what I see in the mirror and I just want to maintain a strong and energetic body.
Hello All!
I am a 28 year old woman and I just stumbled onto this website while I was searching for low cal menu plans. This site looks great and cant wait to use it (it's 11:30pm right now). I had lost 34 pounds by counting cals about 2 1/2yrs ago. When I stopped writing everything down i slowly gained all the weight back and then some. I guess I took a two year siesta of great food and greater wine!! But all good things must come to an end. So here i am, ready to get back on the proverbial bandwagon. I am a hairdresser with a hectic schedule- sometimes i am not home til 8:30pm. I also am in school three days a week, in the hopes that one day i can get into med school. I also have a 9yr old son and a 10yr old daughter. I guess the word "chaotic" sums my life up in a nutshell. I just hired a personal trainer that i see twice a week for an hour each- talk about tough! I wish everyone luck in this journey of health.

Hello...agvignola, everyone!
I am from China, my name is Elin, nice to meet you on line, so fantastic!
I know many people have tried to lose weight with diet after diet, but they usually take off the weight, put it back on, and then take it off again. Life becomes an unhealthy your yoke. Many have also tried the gym, only to give it up after a couple of months. However, I know a weight loss method will help shift the way and keep it off, without the need to continually go to the gym and without the need to drastic change on your life. Most weight loss programme requires you to dramatically change your eating habits. However, my weight loss method works in a different way.
Now I want to share with you a 400 years old Chinese secret about the weight loss method will help you lose weight quickly and safely. This amazing method can be achieved without starvation, without taking any pill, without any drastic diet, without suffering from low energy, and without take care of replacing my fruit drink. Better still, you can still enjoy cup like custard and grease.
For years, Chinese people have been benefited it from the weight loss method that really works. Have you notice that you do not see many over-weight Chinese people and they have great appetite. They know the secret and they are used the method that actually work faster and as safely as this way.
In fact, we believe the special ingredients within China Healthy Tea are the main reason why Chinese people do not get fat. I know for a fact Tangxing Slim Tea works and I like to see you make the same realization.
