I guess I'll start ......... !!

1. History with weight loss:

I was always the super skinny girl, never had to watch what I ate or exercise until my 20s, when the weight started piling on. Because I had always been thin I didn't know how to diet successfully. I really piled on more weight in my early 30s. When I turned 33 I wanted to have a great year but I was 20-30 lbs heavier than where I am comfortable and super unhappy.

Then it just changed ....  My whole perspective changed, I wanted to be happy and needed to make it happen for myself. I lost some weight and thanks to the education on Calorie Count it has been easily sustainable.

I lost 30 lbs in 6 months and have kept it off for a year now. I completely changed my attitude towards food. I educated myself about health.

I have never felt better.

2. History with Calorie Count:

Joined in May 2007 and haven't looked back!!

3. Reason for joining this group:

I love makeup, fashion and trends, living in the Big Apple it's hard not to. My job is stressful so all that girly stuff gives me a nice break.

4. Some interesting details about yourself:

I am getting married next week!!!

1. History with weight loss:

Skinny kid, average pree-teen, teenage years were extreme (medicine, moving, drugs, not eating, eating too much, etc) so that varied from 98lbs to 205lbs. 18-21 I was a steady 170-180lbs. Started dieting a little (or at least cutting stuff out was more like it; started with soda, then fast foods, then sweets, then smoking, etc). Age 21: 160lbs Age 22: 150lbs, Age 23: 145lbs, Age 24: 139lbs. Now I work out and I watch my diet and eat perfectly like a machine, lol. That's about 95% of the time. I have one messed up day a month usually.

2. History with Calorie Count:
Joined March 2008 and I love this site soooo much... so much support and a great group of people

3. Reason for joining this group:
"forever young"? lol, I don't ever ever ever want to age or be fat again, so I need to do some serious preventative maintenance... I need all the help and advice I can get.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:

I work at a local credit union in the marketing division of the corporate office. It's a great promotion I just got and it gets me out of the office and kinda more active! Plus I absolutely love my credit union, Provident rocks!! :). I have a huge family but I only really keep in contact with a select few :/. My little sister and grandmother are my best friends and I would do anything for them :). I love exotic fish, and I have a couple. I also have a cat, but I don't really like it. lol. I like anything outdoors, anything to relax, anything to make me prettier, playing pool, bowling, tanning, stretching/yoga, any kind of kick butt workout that leaves me drenched in sweat and feeling faint.

lol... that's all she wrote!

1. History with weight loss:

I was heavy heavy kid. At the age of 15 I had an epiphany and lost almost all of my body fat by basically becoming a marathon runner, but never actually ran any marathons. 17 years old, I went to University and lost the commitment to my running and healthy eating. As a runner I was 114 lbs, then I went up to 125lbs and no more muscle mass. Since this past christmas I have gone down to 120 and I run almost everyday and try and make a yoga class after. The only thing holding me back right now from my goal weight is diet. When I took running seriously my family wasn't very understanding and concluded that I had an eating disorder. So now I am being fed left right and center.  So my challenge is to stop eating the bad stuff myself and some how help them understand.

2. History with Calorie Count:

Off and on. I am recently finding it more convenient than most methods of keeping track :)

History with weight loss:

I was always a little chubby but never this heavy.

History with cc:

I was a member, but then it said my thing was deactivated so idk.

I don't want to write anything else!

1. History with weight loss: Never consciously tried to lose weight until I was in my 50s. I was a little heavy in my 40s, but when I hit 155 in 2006 (I think it was) I joined Calorie-Count.com. I got all the way down to my goal weight (118), but in order to maintain it I have to come back from time to time. Last year I had surgery on my foot, and with the inactivity and overeating from boredom, I got all the way back up to 137. It's been more difficult getting back to the ideal weight this time around, so I've been logging in here more often.

2. History with Calorie Count: See #1

3. Reason for joining this group: Well, I thought it was for us older folks. But I'm fine with the makeup, fashion and trends theme.

4. Some interesting details about yourself: I am joining the Peace Corps, but even if I get in, I will not be leaving until September, so I'm working at a small business in Santa Monica until that day comes.

1. History with weight loss:  I really didn't have to watch my weight until I graduated from college.  I was an active runner in high school.  A season of shin splints ended my running ambitions.  I was an active musician through college and walked almost everywhere so that kept me on the thin side.  Although by the end of my 5 1/2 year undergrad career I had put on about 15lbs.  I also have a history of depression/bipolar so at times I just wouldn't eat and I lost a lot of weight as well.  The past year or so, I definitely packed on about 20 lbs.
2. History with Calorie Count: Joined in February, as I was fed up with being squishy and none of my clothing fitting anymore.
3. Reason for joining this group:  I like the girly things.  Makeup, clothes, etc.  It's nice to bounce ideas off of other people on products and trends.
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:  I currently work at a University with a distance learning program.  I'd really like to go back to college, not sure if I want to do a whole new Bachelor's program or figure out something to pursue as a Master's.  I've been with my boyfriend for over a year.  I think my being content with him has added to my significant weight gain.  That's a whole research topic I could pursue for a Master's program...  We have a Lhasa Apso named Wicket.  As for my interests: girly things, especially dresses.  I have a closet full of beautiful dresses that I can't wear anymore.  Motivation for #2.  I also have a weakness for teen lit of the vampire variety.  Yes, I read the entire Twilight series and now I am reading The House of Night series.  I'm also a fan of Gregory McGuire's writing and am reading the second book of his Wicked series.  I'm also a big fan of musical theatre and studied instrumental and vocal music in college.  However, my degree was in something more "useful" ie Human Resource Management.

Hi.  I'm Marilyn.  I have been obese my entire adult life.  I started gaining weight after junior college, when I went away to my university.  My future husband and I went away together and I guess we were just so happy, we ate to celebrate!

I'm down from a high of 366 lbs to 328.  It's going in the right direction and I know I have changed my lifestyle enough so that I will be successful.

I've been married to my college sweetheart for 30 happy years.  He's very supportive and sweet.  We have 3 grown kids, 1 lovely daughter in law and 1 grandson.  We have 2 dogs and a cat.  We live in a nice little midwestern town.

Some horrible things have happened to me and my family over the past few years and as a result, my health declined drastically.  I am on the upswing now.

I am working hard on getting the old Marilyn back.  I love make up, lotions, etc and because of my bad health, had stopped using those things.  My health is MUCH improved now and I am back in the beauty swing.

I want to make some online friends who are losing weight and who love beauty as much as I do.

I was a music teacher.  After my kids were born, I stayed home, then worked as a classroom aide.  That enabled me to be home with them.  When they were in school, I was in school.  But, I had no after school meetings or responsibilities, so I could go home with them at 3 PM.  It was perfect.

I can't wait to get to know you all.

Hi,

My name is Joanne. I have been concerned with my weight since I was old enough to realize I was not small like the more popular girls around me. Kinda sad.

Dieting probably started in college because I did what freshman do - ate tons of food. Since then, I have tried many diets but always give up and go back to making bad food choices. I just passed my 57th birthday, now health is becoming my first concern. I want to stay active and vital throughout my retirement years.

Recently, I read the book, "Younger, Thinner You" by Dr. Braverman and began cooking and eating foods to improve my brain chemistry as well as to lose weight. I also bought the Wii Fit system and began a daily workout. It's all going well, though I haven't really lost weight yet, I am eating less.

I found caloriecount when I was looking for a calorie calculator to help me do a food journal. I love this site! Now I can do all my journaling online, instead of on paper. What a blessing, just when I needed it.

I joined this group because I have 87 pounds I need to stop carrying around. It is very hard for me to lose and am hoping to learn some ways that will work for me.

I was once a elementary teacher, now retired and enjoying life. I snowbird in Mesa, AZ in winter, Cool  and summer back home in Kelso, WA. Love it!! I have two grown children, one disabled and one out of work with addiction issues. I have a boyfriend, and we are planning on marrying soon. Laughing    We've been together for 8 years. We have a 19-month old border collie named Jimmie, whom we love and find to be as much work as a child.

I love reading, movies, pinochle, family, grandkids, the beach, travelling, and friends. I hope I'll find some new friends online here. Maybe someday I'll figure out twittering and do facebook, but right now I'm going to network here. Looking forward to getting to know you!

Hi All

I'm new here. Just joined today actually. I started weight watchers last week after hitting an all time high with my weight. I had a nervous breakdown a couple of years ago and with the medications etc I packed the pounds on big time. I was already big to start out with so this made things go from bad to worse. But hopefully I am on track here.

I started gaining weight really when I married at age 18. He was a big meat and potatoes man and I loved baking also so having 2 kids and a man that loved to eat kept the weight going up and up and up. I did weight watchers in the 80's and lost 40 lbs but quickly gained that back plus lots more.

Professionally I am a certified aromatherapist and teach aromatherapy via the Internet. Learning to blend essential oils was so cool to learn that I decided to continue my education and teach others. It's a very fulfilling job.

Because of disability I am forced to work from home but I am hoping that losing weight will help me to be able to move and get some exercise.

Thanks for letting me join

Sharron

1. History with weight loss:

In my pre-teen years I was a chubster, and then when I hit my early teens I just lost all the weight but in the most unhealthiest of ways (mainly skipping breakfast and lunch, going a day without eating). It continued like that throughout high school, and then once I graduated I started packing on the pounds because I never really knew how to eat healthy because at that time I ate whatever I want and then would just not eat or I didn't eat because I just wasn't hungry.

2. History with Calorie Count:

I just joined today, I heard positive things about it.

3. Reason for joining this group:

Along with losing more than a few pounds, I also want to change my eating habits and start eating in moderation. I realize that just because there is a lot of food to eat at your disposal (buffet, family dinner, etc) it doesn't mean that it gives one the excuse to go on the see-food diet (you see food and then you eat it, lol). I also want to stop relying on eating fast food junk because its the fastest and cheapest thing to get instead of just preparing healthy meals and snacks to bring with me.

4. Some of my interests:

I like to travels, watch foreign films, and write.

Hi everyone.

My history with weigh loss: pretty much non existant, I have been obese my whole life. Need to make changes, need to be healthier, need to do it now.

My history with CC: I have been here for a few weeks. Had lost about 40 pounds on my own, but have so far to go.  My starting weigt was 340something. My last official weigh in was 303, but think I have lost a few more since then. My goal is 170, half of me.

Reason for joining this group: I am a girly girl. I love makeup, spend way too much money on scrubs and wrinkle creams and sweet smelling body washes.

Facts about me:  I am the married  mom of two college kids and a high school freshman. I work in the dairy industry and volunteer a lot at church and school.

My 25th wedding anniversary is in the fall of 2010. And my goal is to look good enough to get my picture taken with my hubby that day. I have avoided the camera for years.
