And now just go ahead and make that first post!
Hi there! Actually, I'm not really a space buff. But I'm engaged to one (a satellite engineer), so I get to hear a lot about it. Besides, it made me sad to see the group was empty. Yeah, kick me out if you like:p
1. I eat all the time (my school friends used to call me 'the bottomless pit'), but was always very active. So I was skinny until I went to grad school in a wine farming town last year. It was all a little TOO relaxed, and the wine made me even hungrier. I put on about a kilo a month, and was not very aerodynamic. After 6 months or so, I'd had enough. I borrowed my flatmate's diet cookbooks, signed up with a similar website to CC and very grudgingly ate less. I got almost to my goal weight by January, but had to spend a year apart from aforementioned satellite engineer, and have been comfort-eating (and comfort-exercising, which helps a bit) ever since.
2. I've been on CC for a couple of months now. Every now and then I go all feminist and leave, but seem to end up back here. Currently I have 2kg to go, so I'm not overly concerned with diet, but am learning some cool weight routines.
4. I'm finishing philosophy honours and studying law. I used to like telling people that it was my last year of studying ethics until I went off to be unethical. Then I met some genuinely unethical colleagues, and now it's just depressing.
Hi malaika99 - thanks for the intro and welcome to the group! Congrats on almost making it to your goal (and getting more aerodynamic) ![]()
1. I've always been pretty thin. I eat a lot, but for most of my life I've been pretty heavily involved in sports. In the past few years I've managed to develop some chronic injuries that make it difficult to work out the way I'd like to. Consequently, I've stayed about the same weight, but I've lost muscle and gained fat. It doesn't help that I've since joined the wonderful world of late-night pizza, all-you-can-eat dining halls, and frat parties. Thank you college. Long story short, I'm 5'5" and 120 lbs; the numbers look pretty good, but I'd like to get back to that athletic body I used to have.
2. I joined calorie count only about a week ago. I thought it would be helpful for me to keep better track of my activity and caloric intake. It's been pretty eye-opening. I'm amazed at how unhealthy my diet has been. Ew.
3. Well, I'm an aerospace engineering student at Purdue. Nuff said.
4. I'm a co-op student, so I go to school every other semester and work at an aerospace contractor in Colorado on the alternate semesters. It's a pretty nice set-up; I get a nice break from my studies every semester and I get to make some money and get experience at the sametime. Outside of work and school, I read, play the piano, and watch star trek and other related nerd activities with my engineering friends. It's amazing how much people can bond over the hatred of their classes.... :)
Can I do OA with Calorie Count?
Keeping food logs and counting calories is completely compatible with OA. Overeaters Anonymous (OA) advocates abstinence in-between... Read more
