Hi I'm Susan. I am new to calorie count and I'm hoping to lose some weight. I joined the group to see if there are lo-calorie food I can make that will be just as good and tasty. I just started my new life style chance and I'm hoping for the best.
Hey, my name is crystal, I've joined CC about a month ago. I really like it! I've always been alittle over weigh but after my first child i was at my heaviest 228lbs. while i was prego i developed preclamsia and had really high blood pressure and have struggled with it since, my son is now 14 months. I had a doctors appointment a little over 2 months ago and it really scared me, basically my doc said that my weight was getting out of control and if i didn't lose weight soon, i was at high risk for heart desiese and stroke at the age of 24. So thats how i ended up here, and let me tell you it has been a blessing!! I've lost atotal of 6 lbs since being on this site and 15 lb.s since my doctors visit!
One of my problems is i love to cook and love to bake even more! so i need to revamp my recipie box with some inexpensive, healthy recipies. heart healthy ones would be great. I'm really excited to meet you all and hope to meet some other people who share my passion for cooking and my passion for Christ!!
God Bless!
Hi, my name is Kristin from South Jersey. Growing up I've always been in sports and swam Division 1 collegiate level for UNCW. Since I graduated college in 2005 I've gained some weight due since my metabolism is not what it used to be. hehe. I'm now 25 and in a serious relationship and I'm trying to lose 25 pounds to be at my best weight. i want to be able to get back into a size 8 comfrotably and be proud and have my b/f be proud too!I just completed my first half marathon in Septemeber so I've started dieting/exercising about a month and half ago. I'm hoping this website will help since it monitors precisely on a daily basis your calorie intake and exercise activity. I love to surf, scuba dive, run, read, cook, and travel. I will start sharing some of my healthy recipes with everyone! Wish me luck!
Hi, my name is Anne. I moved to Colorado three years ago from the Great state of Texas. I love it here....miss the ocean....but the Mountains are awesome. I have struggled with my weight on and off for years and on December 26th, 2007 I stepped on the scale and literally started bawling. It took me another 4 months to get in the right mindset. I joined Weight Watchers and I have now lost 41 pounds and would like to lose another 5. A friend introduced me to this sight and I love it...only been on two days. I love to cook and bake and to get creative in the kitchen. I am all about new healthy recipes. I will turn 50 in three weeks and I am on my way to being in the best shape ever....I am hoping friends I encounter on this sight will share tips and motivations to keep me going in the right direction. I look forward to sharing with all of you!
Hello my new weight losing friends!!! My name is Daniella and I am new to this sight. I also live in Colorado, for the past 6 years, and I also love it here. Where to start with my weight history, I was healthy as a horse in high school. I played Lacrosse all through high school and was a ballet dancer for ages 8-18. Once I graduated from high school, all of that stopped because I just wanted to party. So for a few years, I partied it up with my friends and started to eat like crap. Instead of the freshman 15, I was in the freshman 30!! I stopped partying but did not change my diet, not one bit, so I gained another 10 pounds over 3 years. I exercised occasionally and lost the first 15 pounds pretty quickly, but then I would see how good I was doing and would "treat" myself and would end up gaining the 15 pounds back. I just joined CC this week and so far, I am loving it. I love the support!!!! I also have an extremely supportive husband. The reason that I join CC is because I want to do more then just lose weight, I want to change my eating habits TOTALLY!! I have read that a few of you guys have the same problem that I do, I LOVE FOOD AND I LOVE TO EAT A LOT OF IT!!!!!! I grew up in a family that loves to cook lots of food, huge portions, and loves to stuff our faces. I want to get to the point where I can still enjoy all foods (non-diet foods that is), but know when to stop!!!!. I have a few hobbies, I love to cook, love photography, love my animals, and I love to be outside.
I am very excited to be a part of this group and look forward to sharing recipes!!!!![]()

Hello- My name is Michele and I've been a memeber of CC for some time now. I started my road to a healthier me Jan 21, 2008. I used a weight loss program through the hospital where I work. I started at 182 and ended the 27 week program at 147. My goal was 145. I've been maintaining, which is harder than losing for me. I am returning to CC to get back in the habit of tracking calories. I've brought out the measuring cups and scale because I learned that protion control does work. My goal for joining this group is to get recipies that provide great taste and keep me within my target calories for maintaining, especially during this holiday free for all!
FIRST POST EVER!
Hey everyone,
My name is Frank, I'm new to Calorie Count. I've been doing a similar process thru microsoft excel for some time but found it difficult keeping it updated. This web-based process is much easier. My history with weight lose is pretty much nothing. I was 230 lbs in high school and lost 45 lbs to try and make weight for my application process to West Point Military Academy. I didn't get into the school and settled in at 200 lbs for the remainder of high school. I gained 100 lbs since then to my current weight of 285lbs through a disastrous breakup and 5 years of college binge drinking and fast food. I joined this group to diversify my diet. I love to cook and have many good vegetarian and vegan recipes I'd love to share. I work for a company called SunEdison where I design racking structures for solar power systems.
Hope to see you all on the forums!
-Frank-
hello (;
I'm samantha, better known as samme and i'm new here as well.
I'm 17this year and was 88lbs about a year ago and now im 99lbs ):
standing at 5"1, i'm a dancer and a cheerleader but havent danced/cheered hardcore for afew months and have been having a hard time losing/maintaining my weight.
however, my past dieting attempt was a major failure. i managed to lose weight, but the eating habits were horrible. i probably only drank water and had a light meal a day for 3weeks. and when i ate what i considered as fattening, i forced myself to puke it out. but, im glad to say that im over it (: BUT. since then, i have troubles abstaining from eating even when im not hungry. i eat all the time, esp when i smell/see food and when i am at home, bored and restless.
since i want to lose weight the proper, healthy way, ive started to count my cal intake, trying to keep it approx 1200cal and below and CC has helped me a great deal!
i am starting to exercise more, and learn new dances - eg hiphop dancing 1 hour every sat for 2 months already and now going to start on latin salsa! (: cheerleading practices will also start soon. i hope i can lose 10lbs by JAN 2009!

Hey y'all
I'm a life long fatty who is OVER IT and I want nad need to get rid of this fat that doesn't belong to me any more because inside I am athletic nad lean - I was a weight watcher for over 5 years but my slow progress was bugging me and I decided to go a different route. So I am just starting personal training, working with a nutritionist and counting calories - thus I am a new member of CC
I love to cook but the reason I joined this Group is to get new ideas - my hubby is Mr Meat N Potatoes ... and I get SO bored grilling chicken or steak with baked potatoes nad a salad .....
I have two awesome dogs who you can see in my picture - that's us on our wedding day in May 2008 - oh yeah the hubby is in the pic too! ![]()
Hmmm something interesting -
October 24-26 this year I walked 60 miles to fight breast cancer during the Atlanta Breast Cancer 3 Day. I also raised over $8800 for the cause. I am an endurance athlete. I will NOT give up, I will NOT stop.

Hello,
I have been losing weight for the last 9 months through exercise and healthier eating. I've lost 90 pounds but still have 120 more to go. I have seriously changed my eating habits by preparing most meals myself instead of relying on convenience food from the grocery store. I shop regularly at the Farmer's Market to get fresh, local produce. I try to incorporate more vegetables and fruit in my diet...blah, blah, blah. But I do enjoy cooking and the challenge of preparing something delicious AND healthy! I feel like I've stepped backward in time to a previous era when folks cooked much of their food from scratch. Yes, I've even had thoughts about putting in a garden to grown things as well. In these harsh economic times, it would be helpful and healthful.
My husband and dog keep me happy and balanced, they like my cooking too!
Hi,
I'm a serial yo-yo dieter who has now vowed to get healthy and fit! I want to be able to do sports with my children. Right now my weight is at the highest ever, 201, but I've been up and down with calorie count.
My daughter is going to help me and has suggested that we plan menus for a week and make a shopping list. So I'd love any recipe suggestions for easy week-night dinners that can be prepared after I get home from work.
Hi, I am Shanna, a Work-at-Home mother of two girls, 9 and 2. My husband and I are both trying to lose weight and eat healthier, but I am the one with the long road ahead of me. My weight is 230 and my goal is 130. After the birth of my oldest daughter, I was fine for the first few years, then started gaining and stayed around 150. When I got pregnant with my second daughter I had a lot of problems during the pregnancy and gained and gained and have not been able to lose anything since I had her. I have not been really "active" due to being so busy with my business. I am a photographer, and the only exercise I get is from working with clients or handling chores at home. Majority of my down time is spent on the computer preparing images for clients. It makes me sick to see that I have reached size, clothes are hard to find, and it is just downright depressing. I have tried different dieting methods, I have watched what I have eaten, counted calories, seen doctors, but still have been unable to lose a pound. I am not gaining either. My primary reason for joining CC is to see if there is something I am doing wrong and also to find help and support with recipes and ideas for us eating and living healthier, since we all love the carbs and not-so-healthy foods and dont get much exercise. I just have to figure out a way to find more time in my day to add more exercise!
hi i'm louise, i joined calorie count as through my teenage years i've put on quite abitof weight, now i'm an 'adult' i'd like to get rid of some of my 'puppy' fat in a healthy and fun way. i've joined before and tried butmy heart wasnt really in it, but it definatly is now! i feel like i'm quite new to CC as i havent used it really before now but it looks amazing! i love cooking but i find it hard to cook 'low cal' so i'd like to experiment, to try out different recipies and hopefully contribute with some recipes i come up with! i'm in my final year as a college student, i study art and psychology and classics and love all those subjects! i work as a waitress some weekends, i'm christian and am looking forward to my church weekend away! thats me! xxx
Hello everyone & Happy New Years!
I joined CC exactly one year ago and it helped me assess my eating habits, caloric intake and exercising routine...the motivation and support was an added bonus. Well I lost 30lbs to date and have returned to CC to start on my journey again for the new year. I want to re-assess and analyze what I am eating and not eating enough of. I have learned to cook healthy for my husband and I...and we now enjoy eating a variety of fruits and veggies that we have never even heard of. My goal is to loose just 15 lbs and tone up some trouble spots in time for my cruise to the Caribbean this April.
I want to get some great recipes and ideas for new and tasty dishes to keep me satisfied and trim! :)
Hello All!
I joined CC today and am very happy so far. My current weight is 144 and my goal is 130 by May 2009. I'm getting married in October and need to go dress shopping soon but I want to feel comfortable and look beautiful on my big day. I have a 7mos old son and a 15yr old daughter. When I had my daughter the weight fell off but this time around it's taking it's sweet time. I think being 36 has a lot to do with it.
I really want to find some lo-cal recipes for my fiance and I. We both need to change our bad eating habits before my son picks them up. Before having my son I was very active. I have started being more active within the last month. I have already lost 14lbs by exercise and smaller portions but I need more lo-cal recipe ideas. Good luck to all!
How often should you eat during the day?
It is neither necessary to eat every two hours nor to stop eating at 6:00 PM. As long as your calorie intake is less than your output... Read more
