And now just go ahead and make that first post!
ugh! my history with weight lost is a trip. my weight goes up n down so much! i just recently started counting calories for a couples of months now.. i like it, it helps me to not feel like a fat *** lol excuse me.
i joined this group bc i luv chocolate but being that a lot of chocolate is high in sugar and calories i cant eat much of it.. i wud like to hear from others, if they have found some chocolates that have lesser calories n which ones are worth indulging for..
and i have 2 cats they are both female i luv them lots, and i think they're lesbians so... yeah.![]()
Chocolate will be the death of me yet - I'm sure it's at least partially to blame for my stalled weight loss lately :)
Hello my name is Amy and I am a chocoholic!
I am a bland software develeoper by day and a Personal Trainer by night. I also model locally and have a beautiful 11 year old daughter and an overly enthusiatic Golden Retriever. Happily divorced and usually immersed in chocolate at some point in my day. It is a guilty pleasure but one that I allow myself. While I have never met any chocolate I didn't like I am partial to the dark side. As Tolkein would say not all who wander are Lost!
I joined CC not for weight loss more to keep track of dietary needs. In the past I notoriously lived off caffeine and chocolate and very little fiber and protein se la vie do as I say not as i do so i figured I should start practicing what I preach and I have managed to Greatly improve my diet that by keeping track of what I eat on here albeit a daily dose of rich creamy cocoay chocolate.
I see a caffeine lovers group joining that one too! All I need is a Peanutbutter lovers group and I'll have my vices covered. So happy to be here!
hello!
i love chocolate...i don't think i would survive without it! i love dove chocolate, m&m's will be the death of me, and everything else.that pretty much sums it up =]
With the best of intentions for a strictly planned day, I went off the beam for chocolate...3 brownies & a bar of organic chocolate. ((I can't look!)) haven't logged it all to count the damage.
TODAY@! I will be good....
Hello,
1. My history has been up and down since I got out of the army many years ago. I've become complacent and find myself just not caring at times.
2. About 9 months ago I got real motivated and lost 25 lbs using CC and monitoring my intake daily. It was a real help.
3. My reason for joining is that with fewer people, I think it may be easier to support each other.
4. I play golf almost every day, I play hockey, fish and am an all around avid outdoorsman.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. My goal is 165 by Jan 1. Then a new goal of 150 by May 1.
Troy
I suffer from a ED im recovering so im up and down,i love this site it helps mre keep track of my progress and that of my friends..
i joined this group because i luv choco, and im looking for new choco to try thats not so fattening..
I'm trying to use chocolate "responsibly" this week. Yesterday I made "Crazy Chocolate Cake II"
http://caloriecount.about.com/crazy-chocolate -cake-ii-recipe-r4256
I almost doubled the amount of cocoa, but stuck with the applesauce/yogurt and all the healthy whole grains (oats, whole wheat flour). This is a very nutritious and low fat cake, and I can eat a piece twice a day and stay within my plan.
After baking it, I cut half of it into single serving pieces (12 pieces). This cake has to be refrigerated or frozen because it does not keep well at room temp. I will pack a piece in my lunch each day, and eat a single piece at night after dinner. I froze the other half of the cake for later.
One day I was really sick and didn't feel like eating much of anything, except chocolate cake. I ate 4-6 pieces of this cake, and just about nothing else, and my nutrition grade was good! also I stayed within my calories.
Hey, I joined a while ago but haven't gotten around to introducing myself! My name's Emily.
1. History with weight loss: A prolonged and gruesome battle that makes the Mongol invasions look like mere petty tiffs. (Kidding! Sorta.) I'm 20, and have probably had issues with my body since junior high. I lost the weight a couple of times, but gained back mostly due to emotional issues and the comfort eating that went with it.
2. History with Calorie Count: I joined this site last September, and it was seriously awesome. I got down to about 133, (I'm 5'2") and thought I looked pretty good. But I started binging, got lazy about the gym, and was dealing with depression to boot. Not proud of that, but such is life.
3. Reason for joining this group: I. Love. Chocolate. Especially when it is paired with anything that can be considered a nut.
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: Well I'm a student at my state school, and love it here. I work VERY part-time, like two nights a week, at a pizza/coffee place in the student center. Despite the temptation I've only gone overboard on pizza once. My mom and I have some age-old problems about my weight which still affect me, but it helps that we don't live together. She is eternally supportive however, and though we have had issues in the past I know that they were basically her bungling well-meaning attempts at helping me. I live with two roommates and while they're awesome girls and great friends, neither have much to worry about in the metabolism department. Thus, I mostly buy and prepare my own food. More work, but less anxiety. No pets (very sad), but I fill up my time doing homework (English/Film Studies and Anthropology major), interning at the school's film co-op, which shows all sorts of stuff weekly, working, walking around the city, getting my butt to the gym, visiting my family in NYC (both my brother/sister-in-law and parents live there) and hanging out with my roommates and a few other friends. I'm also into tattoos, etymology (Weird? I don't know. It's just this quirky fascination I've always had with where our language comes from and where it's going), strong female vocalists, artsy heavy metal (ala Tool), and trying to keep on top of politics. Newsweeks helps.
Oh yeah, and this: I'd kill my firstborn to discover a calorie-free yet delicious peanut butter and chocolate confection. Too honest?
Hey everyone! I am 32 yrs old and have been trying to loose weight for the past 6 years. I have yo-yoed on every diet know to man, but my fitness instructor suggested this site so I thought "why not, I have tried everything else?" So here I am. I deally I need to loose about 55 pounds. My biggest issue is I am really motivated to start something, but then loose motivation to finish. If I don't see result with in the first few months I get bored and give up. well that is a little about me.
Hi : After being diagnosed with Lupus and having been rather ill for the last 2 years i am now up 20 lbs and feel like a slug! I have lost 96 lbs previously after an illness and i am now set to drop the 20lbs i have gained in the last while ... So here goes re-claiming my ;life and health and getting back in the drivers seat !! So i am new to all of this . look fwd to hooking up and exchanging ideas, motivation and results!! x I love walking and now find myslef able to walk up to 1 1/2 hrs on a good day ... Anyway i could survive on choclate or anything pure sugar . Yikes! i do try my best to do the healthy thing and balance out the indulgences with as much exercise as possible . look fwd to sharing!! x
1. I have never really done a weight loss program before so im checking it out.
2. I have done calorie counting but ive lost track of things because of my schedule or because i have restrictions on what i eat being at a college and all, not everything has nutrition facts. So im trying it again and this program is very helpful.
3. Im joining this group because i like to see what others have to say, like me.
4. I am in college as mentioned previously, I run cross country and am 7th girl on the team. The number one spot is way out of reach, but she may be leaving to be in D1 since we are D3 but right on top, beating some D1's. Also, the 2nd girls is graduating and the 3rd girl is semi-injured, so still able to run, and i know i can get up there. I just need to eat right and be full, but be healthy, and i want to lose some weight as well as do more core, cause the core ive done here and in hs didnt do much for my flat stomach, i want abs haha. Lastly, i want to lose weight, but healthily, not go ano like most of these girls, sadly. I know and have heard from the best that losing weight can increase your speed to some extent because you are not lugging around that extra fat that you can and cannot feel. I have a lot of muscle, and that is what is keeping my weight at the same level all the time. Im tall too, so i constantly remind myself not to look at short people and ask their weight because thats just not accurate. I just want to be more on top than i am now, and to do that i not only have to run more, but work on my weight.
1. history w/ weight loss: up and down. i've been up down up down since i was a teenager. when i get on track i can lose weight like no one you ever met but the second i deviate from my plan it's all over and it takes me months of gaining the weight back to get on track again. i'm also one of those people who justifies over eating by saying, " i've been so good. if just eat this brownie today it will be all right." i know i'm a foodaholic.
2. History w/ calorie count: i've been on calorie count for 2.5 years. i love it. it always saves my ass and it made me realize the true value of food and what id truly good and bad for you.
3. reason for joining group: i'm 23 and i love chocolate so much. i'm always looking for ways to eat it but in a low calorie way.
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: well i am 23, i have a husband. we've been married for 3.5 years. i have a dog that i love more than anything. which i know makes me a little weird but everybody has their quirks. i don't work, not by choice we just have to share a car and it's too inconvenient. i love to shop. shoes are my thing a $20 pair of fabulous shoes are worth more than a $300 purse. not that i'm not going to buy both, because i am but if i had to pick. oh i'm from MI and i would move there tomorrow if i could but right now we live in hawaii. right now i weigh 142lb but my goal is to get down to 120 an stay there.
ugh! i know what you mean. at the store i go crazy, i want a candy bar but one with lower calories. I have been loosing some weight though because of lack of chocolate
Hi everyone! My name is Ivette, I am 22 years old, and this is the first time I join any groups like this. My whole life I have always been at a healthy weight until I moved in with my first serious boyfriend. All we did was eat out or order in. I went from weighing 145 to weighing over 200 lbs in little over a years time. When we split up, I realized that I was disgusted at myself when I looked in the mirror. I could no longer shop at the stores I used to since I was wearing a size 16 and even owned a size 18 at one point. When I moved out I decided that more than where I lived had to change. I had to change my life.
I immediately started to hit the gym. I went twice a day for 30 mins 5 times per week and just ran on the treadmill. The breaking down of the workout into two 30 min sessions made it easier for me. I couldn't handle an entire hour straight. Also, I suddenly had the motivation to eat lots of tuna and chicken and salad and turned down invites to eat out. And if I did agree go out to lunch I always shared my meal and ordered healthy. I dropped 40 lbs in no time. I had no help just pure will power. At 160 I felt good. It had taken me a couple months to lose the total 40 lbs. I wanted to lose 10 more but I found myself dating someone else who was not health conscious at all which caused me to gain 10 pounds instead of lose it. It's hard to lose weight when the person you are spending all your time with is not concerned with losing weight just with eating delicious food.
So here I am now at 170 and I have lost that motivation that was once so strong and unwavering. I want to get back down to the 150's by April. I entered a weight loss challenge with some co-workers to lose 10% of our body weight by April 15th (just in time for my birthday). I signed up for a workout boot camp locally but my main problem is not hitting the gym, its the eating and making healthy choices. As long as I eat at home I am usually very good. But the moment I have a menu with all those tempting options, I find it impossible to hold back. And by far chocolate is my cryptonite.
I think with these discussion forums and ideas from other people who are trying to lose weight just like me, I can achieve my goal. Now I have these forums, a nutritionist, a trainer and boot camp classes now so I have no excuse. The only thing missing is my mind.
When I first lost the 40 lbs I used calorie counter every day and its amazing how we don't realize how many calories can be devoured in a single serving. So this will definatley help me as far as limiting my calorie intake as well as my portion control.
My name is Shelly. I am 33 with 5 kids ages 9-17. I am 5'5 and joined cc 1 month ago. My start weight was 184, I am now at 174. I joined this group because I too love chocolate!! I look forward to losing the weight I have gained, and meeting new people with similiar interests.
Hi! I'm Lori and I love chocolate. I am married and have 4 children ages 23 to 12. I'm not working outside the house but I'm alway in and out. I do a lot for different members of my family. I started CC a few months back, but I'm not doing so good. So I think I need support. I have to lose over 80 lbs. Hopefully I'll get some support here.![]()
My name is Samantha. I'm 23, first time living on my own and trying not to eat every piece of chocolate that passes in front of me. I have always been tall with a medium build. In high school I probably weighed around 160 and through out college and after, I am now up to 180 lbs!
I love chocolate and pretty much anything else that's sweet. I'd really like to figure out how I can eat sweets but stop putting on the weight. I would love to lose the extra 20 lbs by the summer so we will see how that goes!
Hi I will make the answers to my questions brief because I have answered them in the 50s forum, and on my profile, too! It is going on 2 am and I must play a few video games before sleeping.
I largely had to lose after giving birth (I had four children, now all grown) and a few other times when I let my eating get ahead of me. Right now, I am considered normal, I am 151, but want to be 130-135, which is what I was a year ago before I became disabled and bedridden. I know I can do it by just cutting calories, and have to, because mobility and exercise are issues. My MD, in fact, says NOT to exercise. I joined this group because anything with the word Chocolate on it interests me. My latest downfall before joining this group was Oreo Cakesters. They do have a 100 calorie snack version, though. I also like 60 calorie Swiss Miss hot chocolate. Needless to say, Ghiardelli is on my list as is Lindts.
