Introduce myself...hmm, just did this on the 40 Something group...forgive me for cheating and copying that over:

Yoyo dieter from away back (I'm 48); this time I'm aiming for the lifestyle change and so far it's working--only 30 lbs lost in one year (but only 5 lbs to go!Laughing), but my eating habits have changed a lot, and definitely for the better. I get lots of exercise naturally in the summer (gardening, biking, walking the dogs) but hate the cold winters and have trouble keeping my activity level up then--last winter I treadmilled while watching old episodes of Rockford Files and lost 10 lbs, thanks to James Garner.Wink

I've found I'm not very good at gabbing on the forums (so many people talking! Can't keep up, I guess), but I like communicating with fellow CCers through our Journals, if anyone else goes that route. I'll try to inject my two cents here, too--after all, we're all "neighbours"!

 Hey, Welcome!!!  I live in Essex-Kent near Chatham.  Laughing

1. History with weight loss:  Been on a diet all of my life, it seems.  As an adult my lowest weight has been 132 and my highest 253.

2. History with Calorie Count:  Joined in June of 2006, lost 32 fast and have been yoyoing five pounds since.

3. Reason for joining this group:  Live in Windsor, Ontario.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:  I am 43, a grandmother of eight, love to travel, work midnights at a coffee shop, Rebecca is my Beagle, recently lost my cat Sidney.  I quilt and make some of my own clothes, an avid reader, try to be a gardener.

1.  History with weight loss - the weight slowly creeps up, I get motivated, the weight goes down, I cease what I'm doing - it comes back.

2.  History with Calorie Count - Joined in March of 2005 but really didn't do much with it.  Got into chat for entertainment at work - now trying to get back on track.

3.  Reason for joining - I live in beautiful Thunder Bay.

4.  About me - I work in an office, usually alone most days.  I have two nieces and one nephew that I like to spend time with.  Would like to travel but don't have much support for days off but when I get a day off - I like to go fishing.

Hello Everyone,

I'm Sara, I live in Toronto (is that hissing I hear?). 

1. History with weight loss: I've been on both ends of the spectrum,  was a teenage model weighing in a 88lbs and 5'10", figured out that wasn't healthy and then in university went into healthy weight ranges. Four years ago I was in a serious bike accident and after a year in re-hab I hit my heaviest at 205 lbs, I've yo-yoed ever since plus or minus 25 lbs.


2. History with Calorie Count: I joined in 2006 and have a lot of success when I stick with it. This time I'm running a group on the motivation forum called "wagon jumpers" aimed at building consistency for those of us who know how to loose weight but lack the long term motivation and follow through. I've been at this since February (Wagon Jumpers since April) and so far have lost 6 sizes. 


3. Reason for joining this group: I would love to find people in Toronto who would like to go out and do some exercise or trade some cooking tips with.


4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I have a beagle (Mr. Brown) and a Shepherd cross (Jenkins) and three cats (Akasha, Jezzabel and Gremlin) all of whom live in a downtown apt with my partner and I.

Hi all! Nice to find an Ontario group...

My story in a nutshell: i've been overweight forever!! i got a wakeup call late last year and made the commitment to take the weight off once and for all. I started exercising, little by little and eating less. I was also an emotional eater, so i also had to recondition myself to deal with my stress in better ways. Turns out that exercise is the perfect way to deal with stress!!

I'd lost 20 lbs before i found CC...i've learned some helpful tips and lost another 14 (as of last Saturday). I really like it here, most people are very friendly and supportive; i could have used that in all my previous attempts to lose weight...

I have about another 16 or so to go...but i'm taking my time. I'm just trying to stay focused on the big picture of living healthy and happy!

About me: i'm a stay at home mom of 3: aged 10, 6 and 5; married to the most wonderful man on the planet; i love to read, and cruise the 'net at times; trying to learn various languages....

Hi! I live in Burlington, Ontario. I am Jennsonamissions mom. I have been overweight by entire life, and should lose over 150pounds! But, I am just starting slowly to eat healthier, and hopefully lose some weight. I will need all the support I can get, as I am a hard working 50 year old single mom, with a 20 year old autistic son, and an amazing daughter who I am supporting thru college. I find very little time for myself, but when I do I really enjoy games on facebook, and I love cats, (we have 3 crazy cats). Wendy

Here is a bit about me.

2.  History with Calorie Count - Joined in January of 2008 after my friend at work told me about this site.... I was very excited in the begining and managed to loose 18 lbs.... however I'm now in a plateau and have not lost in a while.

3.  Reason for joining - I live in wonderful London Ontario, and was happy to see other members from Ontario, as I noticed the majority of members are from the US.

4.  About me - I'm currently out of work, the place I worked for 30 years closed down this year, very depressing looking for a job, does not help my weigh loss goals, I'm married and have 3 children, 2 cats, two of my children still live at home, love travelling, gardening, reading, computer.

London is a beautiful place. I visit friends there often.

I think weight management is a lot about keeping yourself in emotional control... people and women especially eat bad when they are sad.

Yeah, that is my biggest thing right now. I had abs and great body shape. Now I am a bit heavy and am not sure what to do with myself when I am sad or stressed. My environment doesn't support just 'getting through it'. I could go eat and choose what I want to do. "emotional eating control" by replaced it with....?

thx sheila_c, sorry i took so long to respond, i keep forgetting to come check out the groups i`m in.

yes all 3 of kids are in public school...and yes it is bliss to have them back in school. My youngest, however is in SK and she goes in full day twice (or 3 times) a weeks, so i`m not totally alone everyday. But she`s pretty self sufficient and i can still do what i have to do around the house. I dont look forward to her goin into grade one next year tho, because it means i have to go back to work soonCry

Hi I am new to this group and to this website.
I have always kinda yoyo'd as far as my weigt. I work in the health care field and love my job. I have a Dog named bailey and she was my motivation to get moving, since she has soooooo much energy to burn. I started walking her and went from there. My sister in law and I have decided to do this together ( loose weight and get healthy realy). We work out together and keep food journals, that we look over together.
