Well just transferred over to the + site, but due to me not remembering  that hint thing I had to start over.

Just in case anyones wondering Im spuckine now with a 1

So its spuckine1

irl Im carol.  Live in toronto.  A stay at home mum of 3.  Oldest is physically disabled.  Very challenging.  I also do home daycare.  Ive been doing it since 2000.

history with weight loss.  Ive never been that heavy but wanted a way to track food intake since being home allows me to eat more.  The highest I was without being pregnant was 142.  I got down to 124 in may but really slacked off over the summer, started eating to much candy(my weakness) and 5 pounds crept back on.  Im now back to regular monitoring and Ive got to cut out the sugar!!

hi! i'm new here, been on the site for just over a month

i guess to answer the questions above ill say this. i gained a lot of weight with a serious injury several years ago. i lost a bunch of it and then rebounded after some life problems. my problem with weight is that i don't eat nearly enough and my body was storing starvation fat.

i joined this group because i really enjoy meeting new people and i live in ontario.

some details about myself, i live in toronto, i work in the renewable power sector, i have a cat who is bigger than most of the dogs my neighbours have. he's also on a diet, but is much more successful than me. he only has one more pound to go!

Hi Carol & Shyia,

Nice to see some other Toronto faces here!

Sara.

Hi everyone,

A former Torontonian now living in Hamilton and hoping to move back to Stratford one day.

1. History with weight loss:

Typical yo-yo dieter and I have tried everything. Atkins, Weight Watchers, Deal-A-Meal, South Beach, working out like a fiend only to burn out 6 months later.

2. History with Calorie Count:  None. New here today.

3. Reason for joining this group:  I am from Ontario

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:

No job. I am on disability because I am so heavy and can barely walk or stand more then a few minutes.  Soon to be 47 (in November), 2 grown sons and a 19 month old grandson.  I have a 2 year old cat and would love to get a dog but with my mobility issues that would not be fair to the dog as they need more care then a cat does.

I have many many interests but due to my size and lack of cash I cannot pursue them all so I am reading, watching movies, a little gardening when weather permits and caring for my home when energy permits.

Welcome to the Ontario group and Calorie Count!!!  You're going to find so much support here that yo-yo dieting will be historyWink.

1. History with weight loss: I don't have any, LOL.  Actually, total I'm down about 18 lbs since January this year, with lapses of time running through it.

2. History with Calorie Count:  I've been on here for a few many months.  I've been absent for a while because of personal health and work issues.

3. Reason for joining this group:  I would like to find some like-minded friends in the Toronto area, or even a workout buddy!

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I'm 23, I work as an administrative assistant at the CFTPA (google helps) and I work right around the corner from my gym, Extreme Fitness, at the Richmond and John one.  I have a cat named Mac who is now 9 years old that I adopted last year.  My interests have been waning lately, but I'll never turn down a computer game or a good book.

I look forward to being a (hopefully!) active participant in the group and finding some friends in the area Laughing

Ok,  I heard that someone places in Ontario go snow!   Is it true?   None in Ottawa.

Beaukat We're walking distance from each other I'm liberty village. King & Dufferin.

Munrori I heard the same thing, I think it was farther North, I've got to drive up to Owen Sound on the weekend, keeping my fingers crossed.

1. History with weight loss:  All my life my three brothers always refered to me as being fat.  When I go back over my pictures I was definitely not fat...it's amazing what people can talk you into.  My first husband always wanted me to be skinny.....that didn't work either.  I have five children and I'm about 10 lbs over my BMI.  I am now 50 and would like to get down to about 140 realistically.  I do a minimum of 1 hour of cardio per day (dance, kickboxing, cardio weights)  and a maximum of 3 hours on any two to three nights.  ( I should be a stick but I'm not...but I am toned not too badly).  I was a weight watcher leader and am a lifetime member.  I am going into the hospital for a hysterectomy next week and I am bothered that I will not be able to do my level of exercising for awhile.
2. History with Calorie Count:  Just started CC and think it's a wonderful idea.  I am thrilled that there is a Canadian group.  I am not far from Niagara Falls, Ontario.
3. Reason for joining this group:  I love interacting with people and it's much more interesting when people have something in common.
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:  I am a millwright by trade but I now work in the office.  I am always looking for challenges and God has dealt me a few through the years.  I am married (again) to a wonderful man and we have six children. (Mine, his and ours).  Three of them still live at home.  We have labs and cats.  I sew, quilt, crosstitch, stamp, knit, crochet etc. etc.  I'm taking a digital photography course right now and it's awesome.  I love to dance and I do pointe, ballet, modern, contemporary and musical theater.  My biggest challenge is eating properly and keeping track.  I find that when I write it down it's easier to keep the weight off....now that I'm older it's harder than hades to get the weight off and keep it off.  I hope I didn't bore anyone but it's great to be a part of this group.

And now just go ahead and make that first post!

Hi Fabi,

Welcome to the group!!

History with weight loss:

Tried pretty much everything from starving myself to insane self-made diets to gt myself in shape.

History with Calorie count:

Pretty new, joined yesterday, but I'm looking to be active on the site and track my progress.

Reason for joining: I'm in Ontario, and it'd be cool to meet/swap tips with people from there.

Details:

I'm 18, in my first year of university. Can I say fast food temptations every single day? I'm a creative person who enjoys journalling, I work at the university library checkin in books (and checking out boys), and I don't have a cat, but would really really like one!

Welcome to CC and the Ontario Group!!

Hi all, glad to see so many motivated and friendly cc'ers in Ontario :)

I've been a member since February (after a friend told me about another online food diary she pays $10/month for), decidded to start eating healthy and monitoring my diet and exercise... did quite well initially and lost 8-10 lbs in about two month. Although my weight has since slowly crept back... I still think CC works and it's the only healthy and long term weight loss method.

I just moved to downtown Toronto from Vancouver, would love to meet other health-conscious cc'ers, share food and exercise tips and keep each other motivated! My downfalls are sweets and eating out of boredom... guilty of inactivity too so I just signed myself up for bootcamp classes twice a week at work (it worked well for me last time), it's a busy class but tons of fun so if anyone else is interested I can let you know where and when.

Hi Phoenix,

I'm also a downtown TO girl. I've got a gym that I like quite a lot, but I've posted a couple of threads for work out buddies and gym buddies, with the idea that in the warmer weather I'd really like to know other TO girls that are interested in doing some outdoor fitness like rowing or tennis, or well pretty much anything.

thanks for the message that's a great idea! definitely keep me posted

Hi everyone, my name's Kelly...

1. History with weight loss: Well, I've been overweight my entire life, and put on the bulk of my weight when my father died in '05. I now weight 287 lbs and hope to get that number dropping like its hot!
I've always been outgoing however, and love sports and being outside!

2. History with Calorie Count: I've used Calorie-Count as kind of a resource for a couple years, whenever I was curious about the carb content of something, or the calories in certain foods, but only yesterday I decided to immerse myself a little in the community to get some support so I can get serious about losing the weight!

3. Reason for joining this group:Well, I actually live in Newfoundland now! But there is no Newfoundland group! Also, I lived in Ottawa, ON for about 3 years, so my thoughts were "Ontarioans and nice!" (correct me if Ontarioans is not correct)

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: I am a student in Medical Administration, and that is one thing driving me to get healthy, as I'll be working as the front line for hospitals and clinics and want to portray a healthier me!
I live with my mom, brother and stepdad right now, rent is cheap so yay! also, I lived in Ottawa, and worked in retail for about 3 years, and had some of the best times of my life (can anyone say Beavertails!? haha)
I love music, and I love people, and I just love having a good time!

KellyNadine
