Hi all,

I've been on Calorie Count for about 8 months, so far I've lost abut 45 ponds, some wast lost before I joined though. I joined the group because I've been falling off the wagon and need some support.

Interesting details? I like to read, we have a houseful of pets, a dog, a cat, and a tarantula. My work schedule is erratic, so I don't get to the gym much.

Hello!  My name is Tammy. I'm 43 yrs old, will be married for 13 yrs in Sept, I have 2 kiddos ( a daughter 21 and a son 15), and I'm disabled because of my back and leg pain from a back injury in '99.

I've always yo-yo'd throughout the years. I'd get to my goal and never knew how to maintain. I do now. :)  I weigh 172 now and want to weigh 160 by the end of October. I lose weight slow that's why it's going to take me so long.

I joined cc when I was looking up sites for losing weight thru google. I'm so glad I found it. This place has helped me sooooo much!  :D  I love the support and the motivation I get from everyone.

I want to join this group to cheer everyone on to get to their goal in October.

We CAN do this!!!  :D

Hi, I'm Erika and I'm an information enthusiast. I come here to Calorie Counter to find support from people like me interested in losing weight the right way and being healthy. I'm married ( he is also big into working out) with no kids besides 2 Golden Retrievers, 1 Pitt Bull, and a cat.

My current job is to get back into shape so I can start working as a waitress out here in Las Vegas again. I kinda let my self go about 1 1/2 years ago after starting Le Cordon Bleu for Baking & Pastry. No longer doing that...smart enough to realize I didn't want to work in a casino for 60+ hours a week; so I left school after 2 months and 8+lbs heaver. Pretty bad because I was just starting to get into shape.

My weight is currently at 141lbs with a calorie intake of between 1200-1600 a day. It varies due to the fact that some days I do double cardio and others I do total body w/ cardio stack. I usually have a 1000 deficit in calories daily unless I am making up for some mistake that I made the day before. I would ideally like to be between 120-125lbs, depending on how the weight looks on me I will determine how low I will go.

I will be posting daily because I'm on CC daily anyways so soon we will all get to know one another well.

Hello! I started being serious about this in June. When I joined the biggest loser game at work. I like challenges like that, motivation & the pleasure of winning. I found this site when I was reading articles about fitness & the right foods to eat. Its great I love it. I started gaining weight after I got married 7 years ago. My highest weight was 254 lbs. I have always been the curvy perfect body all the way until my 20's. After that I just let myself go & started to be really lazy & ate alot. After I had my baby I went down to 221. Its been about 10 weeks I have lost 27 lbs. Now I am at 193. This is my lowest weight Ive been in 7 years. I am soo excited. My GW is about 150 I am 5'7. I dont want to be too skinny but I want to get my cute curves again & my small waist. My GW for Halloween or before (hopefully) is go down to 175.

More about me... single mom, I have a daughter 2 1/2, & a son 4 1/2 months. My job is in accounting, sitting down for 8 hours. but always make an excuse to go walk around & get some exercise during the day. I just recently joined the gym about a month ago. I am so excited to go. I been going to every class they have aerobics, kickboxing, step up, etc... On days that I dont make it to class I just work on the machines for cardio or weight lifting. best of all they have babysitting. so dont have to worry about them. I guess thats it for now.

Hello.

I am 6'0" and 171lbs. My GW is 160lbs by the end of October. I'm a military wife, and my husband is currently in Iraq. He will be home sometime in November and I really want to reach my GW before he gets home! When he left last September I was 180lbs.

I found CC when I was searching for ways to lose "the last ten pounds". I've been logging my calories and activity for the past week. It has really opened my eyes to see that some things that you think are healthy...really aren't. I recently got a treadmill and use it everyday for at least 30 minutes. I also do circuit training with "Barry's Bootcamp" at least 4 times a week.

I have two dogs(a miniature pinscher and a jack russell), 1 cat, and 1 rat. I love to take the dogs for walks, weather permitting...and with tropical storm Faye just coming through Florida...didn't get out to walk much this week :(

Wish me luck!!

I'm Chris. I'm a 49 yr old lab technician from Central PA. I'm 5' 5" and as of today my trend is 133.5. My goal is 125.

I tripped over CC looking for nutritional information and have slowly become a complete cc junky! I've gotten a lot from the forums in the way of support, health & fitness information, and just general camaraderie.

I was married for 25 years and had two kids. My weight has been an issue for me my whole life although I was never obese. I went back and forth between overweight and just 'soft'. My ex went through the standard mid-life crisis, lost a bunch of weight himself & then shopped on the internet for some excitement. He found it and we were divorced. Between prior efforts to get in better shape and the shock of the divorce, I dropped to the low 120's. I married a wonderful man two years ago and unfortunately a passion for deserts is something we share. My weight crept up to approaching 140 so I decided to do something about it. I'm also about to turn 50 so I need to treat my body well and do it the healthy way.

I'm sad to say that I've been trying to permanently lose this last 10 pounds for year now. I make decent progress as a reasonable rate (~1lb/wk or less) and then backside awhile. It's just sooo slow to come off and so easy to put back on!

I am very busy with my house, family and church so regimented exercise hasn't really been part of my plan. I live close to my job so I do walk back and forth twice a day for about 35 minutes of walking a day. Since I'm usually running late (lol) I do keep up a pretty good pace. I notice a very big difference in losing over last winter when I didn't keep up the walking.

I'm determined to get there before winter! I'd love to help support you in your goals and heaven knows, I could use some support myself!

First I have a long history of losing and gaining but two years ago I decided I didn't like where I was health and weight wise.  I am 5'1, 42 years old and weighed 235lbs.  I was uncomfortable, miserable and just very unhealthy.

I am currently 151lbs and feel so much better about myself and what I have accomplised, I work out usually 6 days a week and have been very dedicated since joining CC in April, recently I hit a real snag and went on a binge for two weeks, didn't work out ate donuts (like 5 in one day) and just felt awful.  I realized (maybe already knew) I am an emotional eatter.

I am the mother of 6, 3 Grandchildren a husband with MS and pretty much confined to a wheel chair.  I work two jobs, pretty much both full time.

I am hoping that I can get motivation from some of you, I have not beaten myself up for my lapse but would really not like to see it happen again.  My goal at this time is 135.  16lbs and in all honesty it feels like it is attached with superglue and incased in Kevlar so anything motivational will help.

I have accomplished alot on my journey but can't seem to get past the mind set that I am still fat.  Any suggestions?

Thanks and Great sucess to all!!!!!

Hi.  My name is Ann and I am 32 years old.  i live in Tasmania, Australia with my husband and 2 children aged 11 and 9.

I have been struggling with my weight since my early 20's.  I have been a  member of calorie count for a couple of years but only been diligent in filling it out here and there.

4 weeks ago I had an operation on my thyroid and I have taken the oportunity to try and regain my health by watching what i eat and exercising more, and hopefully losing some weight.  I currently weigh 103kg (approx 240 pounds) but my goal weight is somewhere in my healthy weight range of 60-70kg.  I am trying to lose weight in small steps as i have found trying to lose 30-40kg just seems to big a task and I always seem to give up after losing 5-10kg.  so this time, my best friend and i are doing a "biggest loser" comp just between us as we both have a wedding to go to in November and we want to look fab.  so between now and the end of October, I have the goal of getting to 95kg - 8kg (18lb) to go.  So far since we started I have lost 2kg so I am well on the way.

I thought I would join this group as I find hearing other's stories of success (even small successes) spur me to keep on going.

Hi my name is Sienna

I'm only 17 but I decided to get healthy about my weight... I used to be quite the skinny one but eversince i have started going out with my current boyfriend i have kinda let myself go. I only noticed it recently when I strugled to fit into my favourite skinnies!! Embarassed

I started with a weight of 64 kilos in july (i used to be 52!) and am aiming to reach 54 at least before our anniversary...  But i have had problems keeping motivated recently so I thought that I would join this group to hear other's success stories and tips =)

xx

Hi there,

My name is Sasha and I am 37 yrs old.  I am somewhat new to this but am so glad I found something to encourage/motivate me.  I live on the Oregon Coast, moving here 1 year ago.  It is beautiful but it is a hard place to meet people.  Thus the problem of staying motivated I guess!!

The struggle with weight loss has been a hard one.  I didnt have to worry about my weight until I was in my early 30's.  That is when I started to gain.  I lost weight once since then and got back to an ideal weight.  Unfortunately that didn't last and I have been yo-yoing since.  This recent attempt has been pretty successful but I need to lose about 20 more pounds.  Aaarghh..

Oh and by the way, I hate exercise..

Hi! I've been on calorie cout for a while but this is the first group I've joined. I started university a few years ago and put on about 28 pounds. I lost most of that (through excercise and diet) and then went travelling this summer and put about 4 pounds back on. So Im not panicking (yet!) but want to lose that weight and maintain a healthy diet.

I tend to lose motivation and so really joined this group to stay on track and receive advice from other members. I start back at universty in a few weeks and until then I'l be doing some assignments at home (dangerous as I'l be very near the kitchen!) and catching up with friends a lot. I plan to go to the gym a few times a week and have a walk on the days I'm not at the gym. My family do not agree with dieting as there is a history of eating disorders in my family and I want to be a good example and eat lots in front of my sisters so as that they dont restrict their eating ( they are qiute vulnerable teenagers at the mo).

So please feel free to give me advice if you have any on how to stay on track. Thanks and best of luck to you :)

I am so close to reaching my personal goal.  I have been doing Weight Watchers for the last two years-and I am a lifetime member; but I need to loose about 7 more pounds.  I've been trying to loose this remaining seven pounds for about a year.  The positive side is that I have kept off the 20 of the 27 that I did loose.

I just recently began CC; and I am confident that it will help with those remaining pounds to reach our goals in October.  If you truly set a realisitic weight loss of not more than two pounds a week you can do it and I know that.

I have learned that I love competition and if I have competition then I will succeed!!  Recently I ran my first 5K run ever-what an accomplishment. I try to do some form of exercise at least a few times a week.

I am married with a cat and a dog.  I set at a computer as an accountant for 8 hours a day so the gym is a must for me.  I have learned that I love competition and if I have competition then I will succeed!!  Recently I ran my first 5K run ever-what an accomplishment. I try to do some form of exercise at least a few times a week.

You are doing awesome!  I can't believe as busy as you are with two jobs that you still find time to go the gym 6 days a week-that is GREAT!  That should be motivation for the rest of us!

I am also an emotional eater so I've tried to replace that habit with sugar free drinks or sugar free gum.  It helps; but I'm not sure it's the best advice.  I also like to do some type of exercise to release stress; whether it be walking, running, the gym, interactive video games such as DDR, just anything even cleaning house to keep me busy and my mind off of emotional eating.

Yes keep in mind that you have accomplished a lot on your journey; but you aren't finished yet.

My name is Shenelle, and I am a 27 y.o. mom of 3. My oldest is 5, just started school, and I have twin boys 17 mos old.  I have had to manage my weight practically my whole life.  My family is all overweight/ obese, and I never learned how to live a healthy life until I was in college.  Since then, I have had good and bad times in this journey.... from obsessive workouts and dieting to overexcessive weight gain in pregnancy.  I'm so over this yo-yo crap. After the birth of the twins, I promised myself to have a more healthy outlook on dieting and exercise.  I have never had nor do I wish to have a super thin frame.  At 5'8'' I am currently 154 lbs, and holding.  At my lowest ever, I was 137 lbs, and I have also lived in the 165 range post pardum.  My goal is only to lose 5 to 10 lbs max, but to lose fat and tone up all over.  I just started working again, and have found that being home with 3 kids was way more physically demanding.  Office jobs are so sedentary. It was also easier to go to the gym during the day.  Now, I have to make myself go after work and an hour long drive home in Houston traffic.  I do enjoy working out, though...I find it good for the soul.  I stumbled upon CC and plan to use it daily to keep my goal in mind.  I'm standing in my best friends wedding in November, so I wanna look good in my strappy dress.  Thanks in advance for the support.

Single mom here of four kids, work in an office at a desk 8 hrs a day. Disgusted with my 39 yr old body flab.

I joined CC in full effort on Sept 25th. With my 40th birthday up and coming by 10/19, I wanted to bring it in in the best possible shape and stay that way. I am not overweight and have not ever been(I will not apologize either). I was eating/ and drinking sloppily- without care, growing lazy and stagnant. I had attempted fruitless maintenance programs but found excuses to quit or take breaks that ended up as vacations!! I looked at my flabby saggy body in the mirror and I did not like what I saw. I joined a gym, which I swore I would never do because I thought i would waste the money and never go. I hired a trainer that I can hardly afford because I really did not know where to begin there, and I wanted expert advise. I have become a fitness maniac since then, I love this site and the gym! I log everything that goes into my body, I log every ounce of sweat from my 6 day/week schedule at the gym. I read everything, following links, personal experiences, advice.  I am concerned about Body Fat ratio which just 27 days ago was 24.4 on my home scale, and has now been reduced to 20. I have visible muscles in my arms, and my legs, between the free weight circuit training and the cardio regimens on the treadmill. I LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!! Still working on the perfect abs and butt, is a slower go but I can't wait to witness the results. Haven't lost focus yet, live to work out, sometimes  hate what I am eating, really watching to ensure high protein, low saturated fat with enough calories and good fat is VERY difficult and tedious, but worth the end results. But I am succeeding in leaving 40 IN THE DUST! I have energy, confidence, m a good role model for my children, and it is a start to a new "0" year that I can be proud of.

This is my precursor to starting certification course for personal trainer and nutrition specialist in February!
