And now just go ahead and make that first post!
Hey Everyone!
My name is Savannah! My stats are as follows: 5’3, 145, last known body fat was 18% (that was a year ago though!), 38 hips, 31 waist, 26 chest. My goal is 130lbs! I am pretty athletic, although like every human being I have my moments of inactivity and laziness, which just so happens to be right now! Haha! Well that’s not 100% true I run almost every day, but I don’t always run for 30 mins. I am in the military and I am trying to get my 1.5 mi down to 11:00 (it’s one of my goals!) I am also using a pedometer and aim to get 10,000 steps a day. As far as my eating goes…well it’s not the best and it’s not the worst. This is the first time I have started counting my calories. I didn’t realize how many I was consuming in a day (near 4,000!!!! Ahhh!) It’s no surprise I wasn’t losing any weight. But now I am going to give this all a shot and see how it goes. My calorie aim is around 1900. Some days I eat more, some days less. I am hoping that if I give my food intake a serious look I will be able to lose these 15 extra pounds that have been hanging around for the last 4 years!
As far as my personal life, I don’t have much of one haha! I am 22 years old and have been active duty in the Air Force for 4 years now! My job is Security Forces, which is basically a glorified security guard, haha! Last year I made a whole bunch of big changes to my life to include buying a house, getting a new nicer car and getting my puppy, Dudley! I live by myself out in the country and love it! I have good roads to run on and take my puppy on. I am currently deployed to Iraq but will hopefully be leaving very soon! I enjoy my job immensely but the hours are long and my schedule is not always very accommodating to a healthy life style. But I always find a way around it.
Good luck to everyone with their goals!!!
Hi, Im a collegiate track athlete. I pole vault
This is my second yr of college and Im studying graphic design.
My history of weight loss has not been very effective nor healthy. I used to think the less calories you consumed and the more you worked out the skinnier you'd be. I just found out recently that I was very wrong. I joined calorie count mainly bc I needed help knowing what I was doing wrong and needed some questions answered. So far everything has been very helpful.
I joined this group bc it seemed like a reasonable amount of time to reach my goal but its no big deal if I dont reach it in a month.. Giving myself a month though has really pushed me into high gear and is making me really work hard. If I dont reach it, Dec a pretty nice month too lol. As long as Im there by Christmas break!
My goals are to increase my calories, become healthier, and to lose 7 lbs of fat.
I'm an addict!!!!
I love to play tennis. This is the reason for my weight watching. Idealy, I would like to loose 15 lbs. I'm down 4-5 lbs now. After two weeks of watching calories and fat intake.
I play about 6 days a week. I'm just an average player, but I'm out for about 2-2 1/2 hrs a day. I don't think I should have a difficult time ...but last year I joined a weight loss group went to weekly meetings .Followed the plan for almost 3 months and only lost 1/2 lb!!!
MAN, WAS I FRUSTRATED!!!!
So, after that I started the South Beach Diet, and I must say it worked really well for me, I lost about 12 lbs.....but...I need to watch my cholestral. And the Holidays set in. I was done. Back to square one. I gained it all back.
I know my time in life is part of the problem, I'm 54. And stuff just changes!
Anyway, I like the web site. I think it will be a great tool for me.....and you.
Hello Everyone,
My reason for joining CC, a couple months ago, was primarily for the great activity/weight logs and journals. But I have enjoyed the groups and it is supportive just to read others' posts periodically-a wonderful incidental benefit!
I am 55 yrs old and slightly taller than 5'4". I was very strong, slim and toned about two years ago, a sublimation of stress resulting from a hectic job and a divorce after nearly 32 yrs of marriage. I found I could reduce the stress through heavy workouts and long walks in the mountains...then I subsequently met a wonderful man that I am still dating over two years later and he has gained over 50 pounds while I GREW to an unhealthy, flabby weight of 142 last Jan! (At least he quit smoking). So now I am lifting dumbells, doing 45-60 min cardio nearly daily, and TRYING to keep calories down (HARDEST PART). I now weigh 130 and my goal is 120-125 and to be FIRM.
1. History with weight loss:-Addressed in intro. NO weight problem as a child/teen. VERY active like we were "back then".
2. History with Calorie Count:-Started in August. Not using calorie counter (use a book and log that is in my kitchen drawer).
3. Reason for joining this group:-Intro above
4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:-Retired a little over a year ago from a school district where I served as an administrator (preschool, special ed., human resources director, etc). Prior to that, a speech language pathologist. Love retirement, but would like to work a little part time at something-not sure what just yet. Have two sons who are in their twenties and live about a five hr drive from me.
Happy to be a part of this group and hope to be inspired and maybe even inspire someone when I get my act together! LOL
