Hey, I'm Lacey :)
i just found this website today and i love it because you can find virtually any type of food you eat so you can CORRECTLY keep track of your daily caloric intake. im loving it! i recently started taking birth control about 2 and a half months ago, and i am starting to notice that i am gaining weight. im frustrated because i looked better than i ever have this summer and weighed less than i have ever weighed. i didn't mind the first couple of pounds but i am now up to about 7... i really really dont want to gain anymore. i am thinking about going off of the birth control but hoping that if i watch my portions a little closer and keep up with my cardio that the extra weight will come back off. we will see! im hoping that with this website i can track my daily intake and see if i had just been consuming more or if it was really the brith control that caused the weight gain. have any of you girls had this problem? if so, please share! i need help deciding if i should keep taking it or not. im on yaz by the way. i am just under 5'4 and currently about 125 pounds and weighed 118 two months ago. i lift weights on a regular basis so i am pretty solid but would still like to get back down around 120 pounds.
hi i joined last month. i thoroughly find calorie counting an incredible chore but i need to monitor my intakes because i eat more than i burn. so i've gained 7 pounds in the last year. being 49 is a calorie challenge. i have high cholesterol 375 total cholesterol. don't know my ratio hdl to ldl but the medical community just sees the total and wants me on super high dosages of statins that have given me uncomfortable side effects. stopped taking them for now and am trying to educate myself on the alternatives. i broke my wrist two weeks ago so i haven't been exercising. pretty frustrated right now. i hope to get back to workingout. in the meantime i cook the family one kind of food and i try to follow a more restrictive diet like 1400 calories a day. very difficult. i'd like to lose 10 pounds by the new year. don't know if i can.
I have been aware of this site for a long while now, people I have worked with and know use it religiously and well, after a little bit of a medical scare, I am on here to loose a few pounds.
The first few days were tough on here, not because I couldn't find the foodstuffs I ate (being in London and not the US) but because thinking about adding my food to this site and my log made me think about food all-the-time. Really, I was grazing all day like a damned cow.
That aside I am liking the experience. Gym and diet seems to be going well, although the weight isn't really coming off yet. I guess being sedentary for 8 years or so I will gain muscle and therefore weight before I start losing anyting.
Anyway, here's hoping.

Hi all,
I'm new to this site, but not to weight loss. My journal explains it better, but here's a little history. I'm a 22 year old chica and in college. About 2 years ago, I weighed somewhere between 150 and 160 pounds and after a year and a half of hard work and making some healthy life-style changes, I got down to 115-120 last spring. Unfortunately, I fell off the routine over the summer and I now find myself back up at 131 (as of last Friday). I'm 5'6'' and I do realize that this is not an unhealthy weight at all, but I don't like the way my clothes are fitting me (somehow they still DO fit...just not as well), nor do I like how the weight has affected my face shape (I already look young enough!), and I'm having some unhealthy side-effects with this weight gain...which includes having trouble managing an endocrine disorder. So! I am ready to lose 10 or so pounds by watching what I eat more carefully and by keeping up with my cardio.
I would love to find a buddy for accountability and support--if anyone is interested, pretty please send me a message. :)
Good Morning! I have been a member of Calorie.Count since September 1st. I have lost 10 lbs. and feel great! My daughter joined in January of last year. She has been my inspiration. She lost 50 lbs and is so happy with her new person. She gave me the courage to truly try this approach to dieting. I am an expert in loosing and gaining weight via organized groups and companies. I have done them all and given hundreds of dollars away trying to loose 20 lbs. Well, this is a lifestyle change for me. Counting calories has been the most enlightening experience and I wish I had done this years ago. I have about 8 lbs to go and hoping that I will rid myself of weight issues forever. Presently I way 138 and I want to weigh 130 and maintain for the rest of my life. I am 5''4'. I have always been a gym junkie so there were no changes there. I was eating triple the calories without even realizing it. I can grab any of my jeans from the closet now and not worry if they will zip up or look painted on anymore. What a great feeling. People are starting to notice now and that is a nice affirmation for me. Finally, if anyone is reading this....this way of eating is no work at all. It is simply the most non stressful diet that I have ever been on and the most successful. I am just hoping that the last few pounds don't hold on for dear life.
Hi all,
I'm new the this group and to CC. I put on about 10 pounds over the summer and I'm sick of it! I want to get back into a healthy eating pattern and lose these extra pounds. I'm a runner and I love walking and being outside. I just need a little extra support as I get my eating under control and get back to my healthy self.
Looking forward to meeting everyone!
Hi Everyone!
I'm new to CC. I've been trying over the past year to take off the 10 lbs I put on after I got married and just ended up losing the same 5 lbs over and over again. I was easily derailed with junk food and I'm ready to now lose this 10lbs once and for all and keep healthy eating habits!!
I play sports and workout regularly. My big vice has been movie popcorn and eating out. I looked at food as a treat. I want to change that mentality and would love some support from like-minded women!
This week I'm using a carb-cycling diet from Oxygen Mag along with my exersize routine. If your finding success, let me know what's working for you!
I just left the "Want to Lose 11-20 lbs" and joined the "Want to lose 6-10 lbs" group!!! Yaaaaay!
=)
I am leaving the 11-20 lb group as of today as well. I was at a BMI of 30.1 in June, but hit 24.9 today! I have 9 lbs to my final goal. I've Lost 32 so far.
Hi there, I have been on calorie count on and off since I was round 18, with a busy life it seems hard to regularly update my profile and keep my weight on track.
It is important for me to maintain my weight as it regularyly fluctuates around 63 kg.
I use to be around 50-55 when I was 16, however I did not have healthy eating habits at the time.
I want to loose weight as I have alot of confidence, but I also like feeling good in a bikini in the summer. I am very unfit, wheras my partner is very fit. I want to be able to run with him and not lag behind. I'm not much of a ixcersize orientated person and want to become fit.
Hiya!
Jumping in with both feet. This looks like a site that is going to be fun.. ![]()
History: I gained weight until I was officially 'overweight' last December - combination of menopause and having been ill for years, it wasn't until I began to recover that I thought I oughta step on the scales & got the shock of my life since I'd never been overweight before :o(
I joined a different site in March and so far have lost nearly a stone. Unfortunately the site was very badly managed and a certain amount of bullying ensued which was not handled well by the managers, it was just no fun any more, so here I am (and will probably be shortly followed by several others :) )
I'm 58, live in the UK, semi retired, work as a volunteer with a free legal aid group and am a part time artist, have 3 grown up children.
I'm wanting to lose about another 8lbs, to get to the middle of my BMI range, but they say the last half stone is the hardest!
I'm looking forward to getting to know some of you,
Have a good day!
Jodie
Hey everyone!!!
I think I would call myself an emotional eater. I eat when I am happy, sad, depressed, lonely...oh man I think I need to change it to I EAT ALL THE FREAKING TIME!!! lol
I am 32 years old, 5 ft 2 1/2 inches (gotta have the half inch!!!!) and currently weigh 134 lbs. When I was in my late 20's I weighed my heaviest at 160 pounds. I went on a diet and I dropped down to 113 lbs. Definently looked a little on the scrawny side and not healthy at all!!! Well I started lifting weights and now I have gained it back.
While I do enjoy my curves and muscle definition there is a little freaking out about the amount on the scale. My ideal weight is 120-125. So I am intaking 1400 calories a day along with 1 hr of cardio 3-4 times a week and light weights. I work 2 jobs so I cant always get to the gym especially after a 12-13 hour work day. Im not as young as I used to be!!! :)
I went to the doctor yesterday and got great news! One was I didnt have cancer...Two was I had lost 3 lbs thus putting me at 134! haha how terrible is it that I was more excited about the 3 lbs than anything!!!
Like most people my goal is look freaking hot in a bikini next summer! Now if I can just lose those last 9 lbs...awww heaven!!!
Later ya'll!!!!!
heyo... 5'3" 130 (currently)
i am your standard graduate student, no money, no time, unknowingly over eating.
During the summer i am very active, ocean lifeguard, national/international competitor weight about 122 lbs.
Once Sept. comes around, my activity drops dramatically, my apatite seems to increase, and i am always stressed, i drink alcohol more, and always hungry it seems.
Its barely 3 months into school and i have gained basically 8lbs! its terrible!
I know that my body can easily loose weight when i constrict but despite my efforts to run, do stadium stairs, and swim 2-3miles 500-1,000yards (per work out) 5 days a week and attend bikram yoga occasionally, i have GAINED weight. My mom says i am unknowingly eating more calories than i think... hence finding a calorie counting website!
hopefully i can keep my calories 1200 and under and loose a couple pounds before the holiday season.
Hi everyone!
I'm 5'5" and 143 lbs. Like many of the people in this group, I'm not technically overweight, but I'd like to lose about 8 lbs to really feel great about my body. I used to dance several days a week but when I stopped this spring to focus on school (I'm in the last year of my undergrad), I started to gain weight. I also have a MAJOR sweet tooth, which doesn't help. I'm looking forward to chatting with the members of this group!
Hey
1. I juggle with my weight going up and down about 10 lbs. constantly. I also go through spurts of working out. I'd like to feel like I'm working my hardest to stay fit and eat healthy. I don't.
2. I just discovered this today. I showed it to my health class students and got them to sign up. It should be fun.
3. Just to see what's out there and maybe communicate with people like me.
4. I'm married with no kids, I teach High School, I enjoy lots of stuff but it's all on hold for now because I'm a new teacher and all I do is work.
Hi, i have slowly worked myself down from 162 to my current 151. I am 5"6 and my size 10 (uk) Jeans finally fit comfortably. I have another fre pounds to go, my next goal is 147 (10st 7) and would be lovely in time for christmas.
I have recently started running (something i have always hated)
3 weeks and 5 days ago i struggled to run 8 sets of 1 minutes runs with 1 1/2 min rests inbetween.
Today i am running my first 20 minutes!
Hello!
I'm 5'5. I got up to 190 when I was pregnant with my son (7 years ago!!!). I got down to 160 in 2007 and now I am 143. I'm trying to get to 133 or so, 129 would be great... but let's take it a step at a time!
I go to the gym on my lunch break 4 days a week. I am trying to get in a workout or 2 on the weekends as well. I have been on calorie count for 2 weeks or so. The scale hasn't budged too much, but after logging everything in calorie count it turns out I'm eating to maintain... not loose! So I'm trying to alter my habits to loose 1-2 lbs a week.
That's about it I guess. My friend at work is the one who introduced me to calorie count. She is getting married in a few months. We are helping each other stay on top of working out and logging EVERYTHING we eat (no cheating!)
Hey everyone,
I'm Sarah, 5' 9", and about 140 lbs. I know that this is 'healthy' to some, but the only time I ever felt comfortable with my weight was when I was very close to the border of underweight or underweight. This may be due to my history with BDD and anorexia, but I'm past those, and I do eat. I've always been curvy, ever since I hit puberty. My body changed so fast that I have stretch marks now from the change. This also causes me to be very insecure with my appearance, and wearing bikinis is basically unachievable for me at this present time. I think that my mind set is, "If you lose this weight, at least you'll be fit and lean, with marks that will be less visable."
I just joined Calorie Count this week, in hopes of finding an accurate system that lets me keep track of my progress, as well as find a group of people out there that are in the same boat as I am, looking to lose weight and look great in a matter of months. Our motivation will unify us to achieve our goals.
I joined this group simply because it was recommended to me after completing the analysis, as I am looking to lose 10-15 in three months. To me this goal doesn't seem too unreasonable, and with a healthy, pescetarian diet like my own and exercise three times a week for at least an hour, I'm sure I can do it. Hopefully you can support me as I support you.
I'm currently a college student at Kent State right now, majoring in Organismal Biology, and planning on furthering my degree with a master's in Marine Biology. For such a career, fitness is an absolute necessary; you don't see any chunky divers out there, as its impossible for them to be able to swim as long or as fast as those that are in perfect shape. I look at pro surfer and diver Holly Beck for inspiration when it comes to the body. She's a role model for me, and I'd kill to have her body and talent when it comes to water-based activities.
I come from a family that is generally overweight with an exception for about three people that I can think of. Both of my parents are overweight, and my siblings were as well. I was the skinny one of the bunch, and at times, even chastised about it, as they called me anorexic and other derogatory names, when, at that point, I wasn't, although it was one of the reasons that led to depression and eating disorders. Now everyone in my immediate family is trying to eat healthier, and they are losing weight, but I feel like I've remained the same, if not gained weight. This is a horrible feeling for me, as I was never in this position. I feel the need to get in shape as soon as possible, for reasons I don't really comprehend. But I know that my future job requires it, and I enjoy looking in the mirror at my progress, liking what I see. Hopefully, one day I'll get to that point where I'm completely happy with who I've become.
