Hi all,

I'm Jenny and am looking to regain my motivation in living an active and healthy lifestyle. Through my college years I struggled with my weight and eating habits a bit. After college, I finally got a handle on it and was exercising regulary and eating healthy. I felt very in control. As of lately, I have had some changes in my life and seem to be losing control. I have a new job, new hours, and am newly single. I want to get back on track before I've gained too much. I currently weigh about 123 lbs but my healthy weight where I feel the best is between 113 and 115. I have a small frame so I'm often told I look great but I sure don't feel it. I have been eating whatever and whenever I want and my gym habit is slowly diminishing. I'm hoping with some help I can get back on track! Smile

Hi, ladies!

My name is Serena, and I just discovered CC today. GREAT SITE!  Here's a little about me:

1. History with weight loss:

I have a great shape, and since I am tall (5'10") I can carry extra weight. I've always been about 150. I was 153 when I conceived in 2005, but gained 60 pounds during pregnancy. Holy crap! I was left with an extra 40 lbs of fat after delivery. I ran stairs, walked, jogged about 4 days a week for 9 months, and dropped 35 of the 40 lbs. But then I got back up 5 pounds over the last year because I stopped working out as soon as I started fitting back in my old clothes.  I have now been working out for 6 months, and have only GAINED a few pounds. Anyhow, I'm now at 165. I am striving for 155 lbs.

2. History with Calorie Count:

Just started today, but looking forward to tracking my intake.

3. Reason for joining this group:

Because as much as I know that I look good right now, there's something inside that canNOT let go of those skinnier jeans in my closet that I MUST fit back into....LOL

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:

Married, with 1 toddler, and working on baby #2 soon.....(all the more reason to get rid of this last 10 lbs so I don't carry it over into prengancy #2!!) I live in the DC Metro area. I am heavily into crafting, such as sewing and knitting. I just wish I had more time for it!

1. History with weight loss: I've always had a petite frame (5'1") but in 8th grade (yeah, I know...) I blew up like a blimp. I can't really put my finger on exactly what happened and didn't feel "fat" at the time. However, looking back at pictures tells an entirely different story. I started HS and became VERY conscious of my weight (even though I wasn't "large" it was obvious that I had extra weight.) so set out to do something about it. I worked hard with no obvious results for the next 2 years. My Junior year in HS (11th grade) I got really sick and landed myself in the hospital for 5.5 weeks. I lost almost 20 lbs eating hospital food and working with a physical therapist to regain skills I had lost. While I wouldn't recommend this weight-loss "plan" for anyone, I was the smallest I'd ever been. In the 4 years since, I've steadily put the weight back on even though I'm working out and eating healthy.

2. History with Calorie Count: I joined CC last year but wasn't too good with keeping up. Over the summer, I gave up entirely. I discovered that it is MUCH easier to count calories for me when I am at school so I decided that as soon as I moved back in, I was going to re-start. I did just that in mid-August and have been keeping up relatively well. I just hope this trend can continue!

3. Reason for joining this group: I've been dating the same guy for almost 5 years now. The same summer that I moved to college, he left for the US Navy. I see him approximately once a year. Since I've put on some weight since the last time I saw him, I'd love to have lost it by the next time he gets to come home. I'm also a lot like Serena in that I just can't get rid of my "skinny jeans" (the ones I could wear RIGHT after my hospitalization).

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests: Right now I'm a full-time college student in my third year. Like I said, I've been dating the most amazing man for almost 5 years. We've been through so much together. He's my biggest supporter in EVERYTHING I do. I work with individuals with developmental delays and LOVE what I do. Yeah, I think that's everything... anything else, just ask!

Hi, my name is Rowena, I'm an Asian (Filipina). I met my husband and got married in the Philippines 4 years ago. I have a small frame and was 105 before I got here to America 3 years ago. After a few months of being here I already gained 8 lbs. and since I got here we have moved 5 times already because of my husband's job. Although I managed to lose some weight, I kept gaining it back everytime we move, we would eat out for 1 week until I finished putting up all the kitchen stuff.

I am planning to visit my family next year. My brother is getting married and this is the most extravagant event in our family. I've been preparing for it as if I am the one who's getting married. I've been looking for a nice gown to wear and I've already lost 6 lbs last month, I'm now down to 112lbs. I don't want my family and friends to see me fat...or shall I say I want them to see me as the same person as I was 3 years ago...skinny and sexyLaughing. And that's why I joined this group. It's easy for me to lose 6-8 lbs in a month but it's so difficult to reach my goal which is 105lbs. I reached 110lbs once but it just stopped there. I'm hoping with some tips I could reach my goal by the end of the year and keep it.

Hi Everyone:

My name is Lucelis and I am looking for new ways to re-energize myself into getting back in shape.  I am now 48 years alod and I am starting to feel how tremendously difficult it is to lose a pound.

I go back and forth between staying committed to the gym and then giving up.

I know I must be 100% committed and that is my goal.

I hope to make new friends and share more about losing those last 5-10 pounds.  they are the toughest!!!! Undecided

Hi, my name is Chelsey, I am 24 years old and in the last two years I feel my metabolism has slowed down and now my family genes are taking over (mom has bigger bottom half and tummy- and so do I!)

I want to do something about it. Would love to lose 5-6 lbs, but have had no luck.

1. History with weight loss: always battled exercise, love hate relationship. in the past month I have been hitting the gym three times a week. I also have tried to minimize my carb intake, which is pretty restrictive and hard to follow.

2. History with Calorie Count: none
3. Reason for joining this group: movitation and tips

hello everybody!! Laughing My name is Paz and I am currently in 132-134 lbs. My history with weight loss has been going from one end to the other over the years. My weight has been very steady (132 lbs) for about a year now, which has been very frustrating in my efforts to lose those 10 pounds.

I don't have any experience counting calories, but would love the challenge and learn about it. The reason why I am joining the group is because I need motivation and tips on how to reach my weight goal and get encourage by your success stories!

I am recovering from bursitis in my hip (inflammation), due to excessive cardio exercise (walks). How do you guys handle injuries and not gaining weight while you are healing? Would love to hear your input.

Hello, My name is Diane, I'm 25 years old, 5'4" and 123 lbs. I have a medium frame.

1. History with weight loss:

I was 118 lbs 7 years ago, I looked great, I fluctuate between 120-125 pounds now, but I really want to get back to 118 and stay there.

2. History with Calorie Count:

Joined in June 2008 but hadn't been on here since August, I really need to get back on track.

3. Reason for joining this group:

Motivation, I need lots of motivation, I excersise 5 times a week, but it's the eating, I can't stop eating my favorite junk foods.

4. Some interesting details about yourself, such as your job, your family, your pets and your interests:
I am a mother of one little girl, I am also an accountant , I live in Canada and I have a cat named Magic.

Hi, I'm Courtney, I'm 33 years old, and I've got about 10 pounds to lose. For most of my adult years, I was around 127 lbs (at 5'5"), but now I'm just hovering under 140. My weight gain started after I injured my foot training for a marathon, my first, two years ago. Once my injury healed, I had a hard time motivating myself to start running again. I didn't find the motivation until this summer when I got a dog. Now I walk him an hour a day every day and I'm slowly working running back into my schedule.

The reason I want to lose the weight is that I'm getting  married next year. It's not just so I can look good in the wedding photos, but that I'd like to start that chapter in my life in good shape. My fiancee isn't a healthy eater and doesn't like vegetables, and I'm mostly vegetarian, so I find eating in our household rather stressful. I'm focusing my exercise and eating on health rather than weight, as I'm more concerned with being healthy than thin!

I've joined this group for motivation and hopefully to get a little inspiration.

Wink Hi! My name is Jenilee (said Jenny Lee). I'm 26 years old and I'm looking to lost 9 pounds. These lousy lousy 9 pounds will NOT go away.

Hi I'm Jess! I would love to tone up more, and lose some excess fat.  I know I am not overweight at all, but I would like to build some more muscle. I have been on calorie count for the past 6 weeks and it has definitely helped alot.

My job is in fitness and I love tackling new obstacles.

hey,
the name is Taylor (:

im 5'4" and i weight about 120 at the moment. my weight fluctuates between 120 and 115 almost everyday. RIDICULOUS. i ma beginner at calorie count but it looks like it could be really helpful in keeping me on track and get a better overlook at my diet and what to change.

i joined because i really want to tone my stomach and lose any unhealthy weight i may have lurking in other places. i used to do all sorts of sports but rather than muscle, i have fat as a result of bad joints. ugh. im looking into workouts i can do that wont hurt my knee's (the worst joints) so that i can get back into the shape i used to love (:

Hello everyone.  I am new to this whole thing and a bit timid I must say.  I am 5-4 and hang between 130-135 lbs.  I am very active and my body carries a lot of muscle mass.  Recently I injured my back and have had to cut out all running and other high intensity excercises.  Currently I am walking 6-7 days per week for over and hour and doing some light lifting.

Food is my real demon though and I have trouble staying away from it.  I believe my excercise routine is great and am interested in getting support around emotional eating and control.

I am looking to lose around 8-10 lbs.  I am excited to have support in this really difficult task!

hey!

my name is nancy and i am 18 years old.  i weigh 106 i am looking to lose 5-10 pounds.

my biggest fear is thanksgiving and christmas, since everyone surrounds themselves with food.  my parents do not appreciate the fact that i have set a goal and am determined to follow through.

i've recently become a vegan for the health benefits, but also for safety from being "force fed" so often.  i can cut calories easily but have a hard time to get motivated to exercise.  however, i also suffer from insomnia so rarely have the energy to exercise.

Hi all,

my name is soda, 29 year old male from minnesota and i want to lose 10 lbs.  i am short so any extra weight is noticeable on me.

i just got married but i want to look good for new wife

Hello Everyone~

My name is Michelle.  I'm 29 yo currently living in CA.  I spent 1 year losing 60 lbs (that was Aug 05-Sept 06).  I started at 195 lbs and got down to 135lbs.  But gained back 15 of it.  I've been fighting that 15 lbs ever since.  I've lost 10 so far.  And would really like to lose the rest.  I am very active.  I walk 3 times a day averaging 40 mins a time.  I also have started recently doing push-ups and sits-ups at home.  I also play co-ed softball with my hubby.  I'm just at the point where I want to get rid of the belly fat.  That fat that sticks around after 2 kids.  My oldest will be 8 at the end of the month.

I'm looking at finding new ways to lose it....

Nice to meet you all

Hiya , I am new here! So Hello!

I am 25 years old female, 5'2 and 131.1 lbs.  I spent 19 years of my life doing competitive gymnastics and have been out of it for 3 years now. It is amazing how much your body can changes in a few years and it has been a very difficult transition for me. When i was competitive in college i was about 118 lbs mostly muscle. After I retired I had lost a lot of muscle and got down to 114lbs, in 3 years  I have gained 15lbs of fat and lost 15 lbs of muscle, which has resulted in unsightly cellulite and a new body shape. I would like to lose 10lbs to be at a 121 lbs.  not stick thin (remember im super short). I am not 100% concerned with the acutal weight but more about how I feel and how my clothes feel on me ( you know not unbuttoning my jeans everytime i sit down, i know your with me girls!) Encouragement is welcome, considering I have never had to try to lose weight before. I now have the upmost respect for those who have lost a ton of weight because I am learning that its hard and takes a ton of self reliant will power! Good Luck everyone!

Heya!

I am a 22 yr old female. I am 5'5 and I weigh 135 lbs. I have a healthy BMI but I have some extra body fat that I'm not too fond of. I recently graduated from college and am working at a Radioshack for a year till I go back to grad school. I have had success losing weight in the past when I've exercised but with my job now I sometimes have days where I work from 10am - 8pm and don't find myself having the time to exercise. Also all of my friends are still in college so they tend to get together to drink pretty often and so I end up consuming 3-4 alcoholic drinks a few nights a week and adding an extra 500 empty calories onto my daily total. So I would like to take control and lose 10 lbs so that I would be back to my pre-college weight of 125 lbs. I have DDR in my apartment and I'm hoping to make a habit of playing for 30 minutes a day. This way it feels more like a game than exercise. I also want to keep track of what I am eating so that I am more conscious of my food decisions. Its harder to go back for the second cookie when you know how many calories they are. Good luck to everyone here who's working hard on their goals!!

Hey everybodyLaughing

Hope your weight loss's going well!
My name is Maria Giovanna, I'm 17, I'm Italian but I live in London....
My BMI's healthy, apparently, but I think I'd feel so much better with a least 10 pounds off...especially on my tummyTongue out

Anyhow...I hope caloriecount will be useful, and I'm looking forward to making some new friends here so we can encourage each other, share tips and tricks, keep up the motivation but most of all make weight loss as much fun as possible...

Love

Hello.  I have joined in order to lose 9lbs.  My BMI is healthy (20.5) when my range is 20-25 to be healthy for my age and gender.  I mainly want to tone and build muscles and lose the soft fatty layer that is hiding my abs.  :o)  When I tense them, they are rock hard but I want to see them as well.  Plus, I'd like to get rid of the cellulite that is on all side of my upper thighs; I can do this by toning up.

Hope all of you are reaching your goals with ease!
